Yeti 08
I've done some research on what springs/struts to use when I upgrade my 08 LGT suspension and I've narrowed it down to either epic or pink springs with either Koni or Bilstein HD struts. There have been many great reviews on here by people who have gone with Konis w/ Epics, or Bilsteins w/Pinks. Does anybody have any thoughts or experience on using Pinks with Konis? or Epics with Bilsteins? Thanks!
idiot4hire
I've asked many vendors and koni's are usually their favorite they have a lifetime warranty And adjustable damping. Koni + pink would be my choice
Yeti 08
Yeah. That's what I was leaning towards. Now I've got to find a place to get the Pinks.
AZP Installs
I road raced my legacy wagon on Konis and Pinks. They are probably the best setup you can get short of going to a race coil over setup. -Mike Paisan AZP's First Private Track Event, June 19 at NJMP Thunderbolt $315 including Classroom and Mentor! http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/145749898/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://www.whiteline.com.au/images/logos/perf1.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. Yeti 08
Konis and Pinks went on this last weekend. Love them so far. Wagon pinks for the back produced just a slight rake to the car.

mtnbiker3000
This looks pretty good!!! How much did the front end drop?? I like the idea of the wagon springs in the rear. No more saggy butt. Think I will do that too =) Does anyone know if it's the same parts for 2.5i as the LGT??
Moderators BarManBean Posted July 30, 2013 Moderators Share Posted July 30, 2013 I wonder how the Konis compare to the Tokicos. My guess is not that much different, but honestly I'm just guessing. Can't decide if I'll be selling the tokicos when I put coils on or hanging onto them just in case... mtnbiker3000
I think the 2.5i motor is lighter and therefore has more fender gap. I really want something with a little more drop. Moderators BarManBean Posted July 31, 2013 Moderators Share Posted July 31, 2013 That's what I was thinking. Did you decide on a coil setup? Yup. I picked up the rebuilt set of RCE Tarmac 1s that Drew888 was selling. If I don't like them I don't think I'll like ANY coilovers and I'll swap to the tokicos / stock springs. I think the coils should be nice tho...especially considering I'm planning to swap my rear UCAs, add a KTA124, and add 245/45r18s to the mix with a performance alignment all at the same time. Tires and the alignment should be a huge difference on their own. I almost tried to run the 245/45 and now that I see how the 245/40 fit, I think I could've done it. I'm interested to see your take on it when it's finished. -Brandon 2007 Chevrolet Suburban LT3 1981 Chevrolet C10 LWB
AZP Installs
I wonder how the Konis compare to the Tokicos. The Konis give a more European feel, the Tokicos are a bit more of a sharp dampening compared to the Konis. -Mike Paisan http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/145749898/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://www.whiteline.com.au/images/logos/perf1.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. oddseth
How is the ride on this setup with Konis and Pinks? I currently have Bilstein HDs with pinks on my car and while it is well spring for the track, it is jarring around town. I am looking for a setup that gives the car a nice, slightly lowered stance and good handling.

You will be able to soften it up slightly more with Konis, but in all honesty you should probably look to Epic springs for a better ride in any East Coast Urban City... -Mike Paisan http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/145749898/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://www.whiteline.com.au/images/logos/perf1.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. Yeti 08
How is the ride on this setup with Konis and Pinks? I currently have Bilstein HDs with pinks on my car and while it is well spring for the track, it is jarring around town. I am looking for a setup that gives the car a nice, slightly lowered stance and good handling. I have had a little time with this Koni + Pink set up to evaluate the ride. I am very happy with the ride, handling, and ride height overall. The ride around town at slower speeds is quite a bit firmer/harsher than stock, and i'm assuming very simmilar to the Bilstein + Pink ride. At speed the ride is exactly the way I wanted it. I just finished a ~1000 mile road trip with the car and it was awesome. The floaty feeling of stock suspension is gone and the car actually feels as though it is less work to drive when cruising at 80-85mph. Definitely less scary when doing any cornering or maneuvers at speed. I have the Konis set to the middle of their range and haven't felt the need to play with the settings yet. I would imagine the most comfortable setup for around town driving would be a stock spring with Konis or Bilsteins. I personally would expect a harsher in town ride from any lowering spring on the market, so this doesn't bother me too much. Maybe I could soften it up a bit with the adjustments on the Konis. I will have to try this out when I get some spare time.
BX77
I had my Konis set in the middle also, then I made it about a quarter turn softer. for around the city this is perfect. Wife never complained once!
