  1. okay keeping that in mind. It seems like previous owner has been trying to chase down the true issue for a few years. When I say recently- new Cat and new Radiator/hoses were done a little over a year ago, along with plugs etc. I'll have compression check/leak down done before anything major
  2. I'm working with Ubersport Performance on my 06 LGT Wagon. They're a good bunch and long story short one of the owners mentioned I will need to have my head gaskets done in the short term. Well about a week after that i'm throwing a P2097 code. Spark Plugs and Radiator recently done along with a new Cat. Just want to see if anyone has had this work done if this could be a symptom and time for me to pull the trigger on an expensive repair. They mentioned that because the gasket is bad my O2 sensor could be getting sprayed with coolant causing it to malfunction. Other symptoms include a rough idle, smelly exhaust, poor MPG and coolant appears to be leaking from freshly changed radiator hoses and laggy performance. Thanks for any advice.
  3. Boxkita - Great point. I always forget the before pics. Thread pending.
  4. Thanks Pledies- I'm pretty hyped on the find, just got lucky with the timing. Previous owner has pretty much all the records going back to 2013 and did a lot of preemptive service. I appreciate the note on the suspension bushings- I think I will need to service those. As far as the Banjo Bolt Filter- Do you think its best to remove them all or just the passenger side turbo feed?
  5. Happy to announce I just purchased a 2006 LGT 5MT Limited with 129K miles, bone stock. Looking forward to getting into the weeds. Does anyone have any recommendations where to start? My goal is to square away all maintenance before I begin heavily modding. From what I have read on the forms, checking the Banjo Bolt is a must along with the radiator hoses- anything else I should check on or red flags I should look for/be aware of?
  6. You can prob get that down maybe try $23K -23.5K if you do some research (also depends on how much you have worked them down already and warrenty). I would recomend checking costco auto for the new price then if it is in your favor email your sales guy the comparison data you've gathered from other dealers, auto trader etc and request the lower price. I did all my negoication via email outside the dealership, it was easy, low pressure and I got a smoken deal on my 2017 Legacy new off the lot. probably also helped I was in colorado and they sell a lottttaa subies out there. That extra G or 2 will go a long way once you consider taxes, and your finance rate. plus you can throw it right back into the above mentioned mods (sway bars maybe some rims.. ehh, ehhh)
  7. Battery just went out on me couple of weeks ago. I just went to o'rileys and got the best one they had on shelf. a little more powerful than the stock and fit like a glove. Group Size (BCI): 25 Cold Cranking Amps (CCA): 550 CCA Cranking Amps (CA): 690 CA Voltage (V): 12 Volt Length (in): 9-11/16 Inch Width (in): 6-7/8 Inch Height (in): 8-13/16 Inch Weight (Lbs): 35.5 Lbs. 8. Out of the box is that going to fit a legacy without the door clippings/tower mount system that Thule or Yakima use? or are you going to do some custom fab? I've got the Yakima with the tower clipings over the doors and I would love to have a perminently mounted rack that isn't eating up my paint.
  9. I drained and refilled CVT on my 2017 Legacy 2.5 a few weeks ago. Simple drain took out roughly 5-6 QTs and I believe the capacity is around 12.3 QTS (double check that). I will say for the hassle I will probably just have it flushed next time. To me it seems like a full flush felt like a better drive directly after. I've read online if you want to drain and fill opposed to a flush then do it again 5K miles later and you're pretty much good to go. Also try to use the same fluid that you already have in there. I used genuine subaru ATF, probably mixed with something different that was in there and it's fine for now but always good to keep it the same.
  10. thanks Patsfan69.. great feedback I'll try to update once I get her installed in the coming month or so for anyone else looking into this! Links to all four below for whoever is intersted AFE Takeda Cold Air HPS Short Ram Kakimoto SYMS
  11. Thank you both for the input on the Takeda.. that is the direction I am leaning at this point. I am wondering if anyone else has tried or heard any feed back on the Kakimoto or SYMS compared to Takeda and if they're worth the hassle to procure haha. they look ******* sick.
  12. Next step for me is to upgrade my intake system- I’ve seen a few JDM options as well as the HPS short ram or Takeda cold air.. any suggestions on which is best for over performance/sound?
