What a steal! I typed out 10k then thought it sounded too low so I went just a bit higher.

A couple days with it and yeah, it's dimmer than stock. It doesn't bother me in the daytime because I've got pretty dark tint so I don't get a lot of direct sunlight on it. In the dark, eh, it's fine. It's not exactly a part of the dash I look at a lot while driving. I think it's something I can live with. My bigger gripe now is the mismatched colors in the center console. And the gps antenna I "needed" for wireless apple carplay that I have no idea what to do with.

Likely you won't get the opportunity to buy it back ever again. Jump on it, rent truck & trailer and bring that home. Figure out the engine/tuning later if you need. Should be pretty easy to get an e-tune for 93.

Official dual HVAC Double Din (JDM) Kit thread V2
tehspud replied to dwolson2's topic in Interior/Audio
What headunits are people using now, in the year 2023? I'm looking to make this upgrade, and get something with wireless apple carplay. I'm looking at this Boss unit, because I really don't need XM/Satellite radio support. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_104BE920WP/Boss-Audio-BE920WCPA.html But I'm curious what others are doing. -
Finally fixed, now let's talk coilovers!

For some reason I can't find the emails/paperwork, but I had a set rebuilt in 2016 or 2017 for my BRZ, and it ended up being around $160/corner + shipping to them. I'd guess now would be around $200/corner -
Fun anecdote about my tint experience. I went to a guy who came recommended by the local subaru facebook group. Turns out to be a younger guy pretty much working on his own. Did good work, but took longer than either of us expected, so we had some back and forth texts about when the car would be ready. I got antsy around 6:30 pm (dropped the car off at 9am) and asked how he's doing and got the great reply of "Wiping it down already bro. Its juicy haha". Got immediate flashbacks to the old NASIOC days and "them jones is wet"

Isn't someone selling a set of KW V2s in the classifieds? Yes. -
Performance tires
tehspud replied to 08legacygtturbo's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
I will forever preach for the Continental ExtremeContact Sport. The 02 is the new version of it. It has about 90% of the performance of a Michelin PilotSport 4S or 5 or whatever the current generation is. The contis are usually around $40 cheaper per tire than Michelins, they’ll do great in rain, will handle themselves well in an autocross or track day. On the street they’ll have all the grip you’ll ever need. -
Review of JmP Custom VF52

Making me want a VF52 with that glowing review... -
Got cyl #1 coil changed out yesterday evening, and so far no more hesitation like in the first video, and boosted to 15psi (cobb stg 1) so either: a) it was the coil going bad or b) There was a leak somewhere between the airbox and the turbo inlet that I fixed in taking those parts off & putting back on to get to the coil. Gonna give it a couple of days of driving and pulls in 3rd/4th to see for sure before I officially say it's fixed, though.
-
Yeah, drove into work this morning and gave it some beans to see, and it's still exhibiting the same behavior from the first video, without any CEL flashing. Coil arrives today. Should be getting some reprieve from the 95+ deg heat starting tomorrow, so I might be able to rig something up to do Max's suggested "block off the after-MAF hose, blow air into BOV little hose" test. Hopefully the 12v tire pump is enough pressure for that?
-
Buzzing was 100% the throttle body coupling hose not being fully on the intercooler. Re-seated it and that part is gone. I don't really have the means to be doing a vacuum leak test on my own; My only source of air in the garage is a 12v tire pump. So I'm probably going to call a local shop to get them to do some testing to find it.
