What did you haul in your wagon today?
tehspud replied to Turkeylord's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
80"x36" screen door. Felt ridiculous being so scrunched up in the front during the drive home. At least it was only 3 miles. -
He was mentioned before, but Dom (https://www.getadomtune.com/) is a really good tuner. I think he only does Accessport for subarus now. I'd also suggest following getadomtune on facebook and reading back some posts before messaging him. He's gotten pretty intolerant of customer BS. He works out of Tier One, which I've heard is a good performance-oriented mechanic/shop. (https://tieroneimports.com/) They're out in the valley, pretty close to the ID border. Personally I've taken my LGT to Hopkins Subaru when it needed work I didn't want to do (timing belt).

Haven't been active on the forums this winter, but my wagon has just been trucking along, mostly being a mountain resort shuttle. Did an oil change last weekend because I realized it's been over 4k since it's last one... oops. Looking into an AOS, as I noticed some oil in the intercooler-turbo flange, and intercooler piping when I had it on and off last autocross season. Leaning towards IAG street, as I doubt the Grimmspeed is adequate for even a few autox events a year. Once it gets warmer I also have a catless upppipe to install.

Been getting the "your car stinks." line from the wife a lot recently. Mostly when stopped and the air system pulling from the outside. Which, okay it's an old subaru it's going to have smells. But, the weather should be warm enough to poke around this weekend, figure I should check coolant & oil fittings on the turbo, and check the lines. Anything specific I should check? Couldn't tell you what the smell is, I'm not good with that and it's all "car smell" to me.

Got all this on a couple weeks ago, and I think I finally chased down the last clunk yesterday. One of the front endlink jam nuts wasn't tightened enough. In the end, it was nice to save money with the full Whiteline kit (tire rack was selling it for $450). But their adjustable endlinks are a pain in the ass, something I should have learned/remembered from my BRZ. Doing it over I probably would just get the bars separately, and do Kartboy endlinks. It probably all would have arrived before the end of my autox season, too.

New Bilstein Suspension Option (B4)

Bilstein site Part Number 19-158686 Tire Rack shows that same part number -
Mild might have been the wrong word. Mild for SM/XSA, no chance for a trophy at a National Tour, but fun locally.

All this has me dreaming of how to do a mild autox/street build when the turbo needs replacing in my wagon. My wallet is already screaming in terror.

Took the wagon autocrossing yesterday. Obviously very different from my old BRZ. I knew going in the cooper all-seasons that are on this thing would be garbage, but damn. They SCREAM when you ask them to do anything. But, I've got to wear them down to justify getting a better set to the SO. Ran into some trouble though, it threw a CEL as I was gridding for the second set of runs. P0171. Turns out the dreaded blue T fitting had come out of it's home. Nothing like having to remove a hot intercooler to get to it. Twice. Because it popped out again sometime during those last runs. Time to start bringing zip ties with me.

Oh, I'm coming from a full STX build BRZ, I didn't get the LGT to be competitive. I've just been at this long enough to know what the rules are, and have a sense of fairness about them, even on the local level. Mostly I just want that sweet GS PAX next year, and not STH, to continue being in the middle of the pack. But likely I'll just do what I want with the car, end up in STH, and try and find a ride for any national race I try and do. Assuming there's anything close to a normal autox season next year.
