what LSD are available for the jdm BR9 R160 rear diff and front diff? i see there is the torque locker but i think a progressive lsd would be better i see some are using suretrac is it as simple as buying one from any used subaru diff and fitting it into the br9 housing? thanks

brake master same as impreza?
JDMBR9 replied to JDMBR9's topic in Fifth Generation Legacy (2010 - 2014 )
ive found the answer they have different part number br9 looks like a single piston, i could be wrong. impreza has 2 pistons part number 26401AG050 -
hello does anyone know if the br9 shares the same brake master at the impreza wrx sti that has black brembos? reason i ask is i have fitted lexus 430 4pot calipers they are huge put still uses a 43mm piston and black rear brembos, i now seem to have a lot more brake pedal travel and a lot more modulation .so i have to use more pedal for the same braking feel, if that makes sense. i also have ss lines. there not spongy but do feel a bit soft.there is no air trapped as i bleed the brake about 4 times. Then got my local garage to do it just to make sure so i wonder if the wrx sti has a bigger brake master and will it be a direct fit to the br9? gen 5 part number is 26401AJ010 thanks

yes lexus ls 430 4pots are a cheap upgrade and offers 13% increase in brake torque vs stock LGT calipers, very popular in russia it uses the standard br9 316mm disc.12mm spacers /longer studs are needed to fit the br9 alloys this makes them flush with the body work and looks great adapters cost about £130. i don't recommend just upgrading the fronts tho as it gives the br9 a rubbish brake pedal feel and i believe it pushed the biased to the rear. pm me if anyone whats the adapters made. only disadvantage is there is no weight saving as the lexus calipers are massive. lexus used calipers are £100 ish ,only mod needed to to remove the caliper locating pins. looks oem to -

braided lines HELP please
JDMBR9 replied to JDMBR9's topic in Fifth Generation Legacy (2010 - 2014 )
ive just fitted the black rear brembos and use the oem lines. if the hose is fitted to the caliper and the pipe is slack then it will rub on the driveshaft,if you hold the line up when connecting the banjo bolt there is enough tension to keep the hose there on its own -
braided lines HELP please

I don't think that bend really matters, test fit them first. if you upgrade to brembos you will need that rear sti hose -

JDMBR9 replied to JDMBR9's topic in Fifth Generation Legacy (2010 - 2014 )
in the uk you can buy just the fronts or just the rears, so I would buy bpe fronts as I know there the same, I just need to know if the impreza rear is the same. thanks -
hello in the uk no one makes a braided brake hose kit for the mk5 br9. I know the front brake hoses are the same as on the mk4 bpe but the rear is different, does any one know if the rear brake hose from the impreza wrx sti hatchback is the same as the br9? as we can use the rear black Brembo as an upgrade I'm huess the hoses are the same and in the same location? ie the hose comes straight down out of the wheel arch also looks like there is 4 hoses to change not 6 like on the bpe thanks

am I right in thinking the fork pivot has its own grease nipple? would greasing it up make the clutch pedal easier or lighter to push in? thanks -
