  1. Cannot say for sure but car is at 3/4 tank now and I do not notice the smell.

Did not know there was a transfer pump. Pulled up the inspection plate for the transfer pump and it looks dry - no sign of any leak.

Starting to think it may be the cracked housing. Going to pull up the pump next. Using this down time to address various other issues including the marbles in the dashboard (mode actuator bad - ordered new one), replacing the shifter plate - plastic color worn off, and install a subwoofer amp for the corner fiberglass sub boxes I built.

I swapped pumps in the wife's wagon. If it's full it smells in the car. If it's 3/4 it does not. I need to tear into it and see what I did wrong or damaged. I upgraded pumps in my outback and did not have the same problem so I'm 1 for 2

  2. Selling some new JDM Outback facelift front bumper extensions. They are PRF and install with 3m tape and body clips. You can see Subaru molded in but I do not know if they're Subaru or if that was from the mold. My guess is reproduction because they are not urethane. I bought these to modify but changed my mind. $130 shipped CONUS from Utah friends and family. 3. Pulled up the seat and took of the pump cover. Did not see anything wet or any residue from anything wet. Also inspected the engine compartment in the daylight. Do not see any leaks. Put the car on the lift and did not see anything out of the ordinary underneath. No exhaust leaks. Definitely sounds like the housing. Probably just need to take it apart and inspect it.

Is it just vapors that are leaking from the housing or should I see some liquid?

Is it always? Only when you fill up the tank?

  4. Cleaned out the engine bay a little. Kind of nerve racking, so many electrical connections and vacuum lines but everything went smooth and it ran fine after.

Would you guys buy these injectors? They are DW 850cc I found on the marketplace. My tuner suggested I upgrade for the next round so I've been looking around. Was going to go with 740's but don't see any harm in going bigger, especially being cheaper than buying new.

From what the seller said they haven't been installed since cleaning/testing but it was back in 2019. They are still sealed in plastic. Is the variance ok on these?

740s are plenty for that turbo

  5. Oooo them are some fancy looking headlights. What are the specs on those?
Thanks. They are new Depo housings, morimoto hid projector low beams and led projector high beams. Lenses were etched because [emoji2369]. Diode dynamics switch back turn signal and running light behind the OEM diffuser that was frosted. All chrome removed and painted black. Built by rigid retrofits in Orem Utah.

I need to get some pics with them on. They're very bright and have a great cut off.

  6. Hello everyone,

We are driving to Montana and halfway through the drive the ac fan set to blow on 4 would operate wi th what youd expect out of 2.

Now afrer the last fuel up we can't get the hot/cold knob to turn from cold without a lot of resistance.

What might be going on here and what can I check, where is what i can check located?

Thank you very much for any help in advance.

Does it blow more out of floor than dash?

  7. Anyone need OEM carpet mats in almost new condition? Will be putting them in classifieds for free (just pay shipping).

Also should have OEM rubber all weather mats, but the driver ones has a hole under right foot - their typical weak spot. Also free.

On non-Subaru news, received my 12 blues CDs from Endless Blues Records. Good night sitting here listening to music in headphones when house is quiet.

I'm interested in the carpet mats

  8. My favorite thing has become chasing down newer wrx's when they come by driving aggressively. They don't seem to realize it's more of a willingness to push the car issue than the car itself.

Hell I used to do it in my civic on the highway. Mr Mustang never expects the crap can civic he just flew past to come back up to him.

I have a co-worker with a TT-RS. We merge on the interstate at the same time a few times a month. He is determined to outrun me. He is amazed at how quick the outback is. Same thing I believe, willingness to push the car (and to what to speed...) I pull him to 100 (hypothetically of course) and that must be his max comfort level. [emoji6]

  9. You have me itching to practice a bigger cutout on my front bumper. Original piece is trashed anyways, need to find a clean replacement or spray one fresh.

Wonder what practical difference the extra space makes. Any chance you're willing to do back to back runs w/ the top ports closed and then open, while logging IAT? Mine, measured just upstream of the throttle body, sits roughly 4-6 degrees over ambient without any extra cuts in the bumper.

I would gladly participate. It's worth mentioning, the legacy opening is larger than the outback opening. At the leading edge center, the legacy is 4.125 and the outback is 2.875. (both 05s)

I plan to get a bumper from a junkyard to see how much I can open it up while keeping the minimally acceptable rigidity. Basically just shy of flapping in the wind
