I see what you did there..... LOLWas that photo taken Outback at the dealership... Sorry, just thought that was funny.Anyways, changed oil 2 weeks ago, already did 1k miles! Checked it, not low enough to top off! I guess highway driving is way way better for the car!

I just check out the website. Sounds awesome, however, I'd have to inquire about vehicle/project car storage. I mean... some jobs are gonna take a day or 2.For DIYers on RI/Southern Mass this place could be of help:Haven't used them yet myself but heard about them on the radio.
However, it's not far from me, I wonder how long the business will last.....

This week has definitely gotten better. The weekend is looking even better. I've been working on my toy car even more because of the weather and I've just about narrowed down my issue with it. Gotta love late 80's Chrysler turbo cars...[emoji38] ... I know the feeling. Been brutal up here lately. This week got better. There's an easy brake upgrade for the B8 Audi series (A4/S4/allroad, maybe even A5/S5) where you can replace the front single pot (at least on my allroad) with a 4 pot from the Q5 3.0T. It has the same knuckle, I guess, and you just have to upsize the rotor. It's also the same part as the Porsche Macan and I ended up buying the Macan versions for less than half the price of the Q5 versions (who'd of thought?). We've been disassembling them so I can get them powder coated (they say PORSCHE on them ) and, damn, even brand new the pistons are a tight pull and took us some serious finagling to get out. Then we had to disassemble some S4 rear calipers I got cheap which were not nearly as painful because everything is screwed together. Going in for PC this week and then have to reassemble...
As for the LGT, looked at it, checked my fluids, topped off the usual, oil change this weekend, still gotta install that turbo heat shield.....

A buddy of mine bought a kit from one of the tool guys. Not snap on.. but it's a 3M kit with like 2 different air powered sanders. Not for nothing, I consider myself a fat kid, and standing in this heat sanding and cleaning and sanding... I'm good....LOLwhere did you go for this? or did you do it yourself?Scotty

Spoken like a true New Englander!Another thought about removing all that protective grease on the paint in the engine bay.Now its easier for rust to start.
In spirit of the thread... I topped off my oil. Exactly 1 quart in 1500 miles. I'm now finally noticing my driving habits reflecting my oil usage. On another note, while checking said mileage I noticed I also needed an oil change.. that'll be next week.
Also, I had the headlights cleaned and looking close to new-ish again! Best 40 bux I ever spent!

I have absolutely no idea. 2 groups of friends moved down there about a year or so ago. They love it.. I say they can keep it! I'll be doing the same tomorrow morning, gotta do a brake line on my pickup, a 92 K1500

Thank you. I'll definitely try it over the weekend. Seriously, someday, I'll buy you a drink if we ever cross paths at a meet.Flip the bracket, that's the one that goes there.Scotty

Those are my pics.... LOL. Anyways that bracket I'm holding, the bolt holes don't line up with the top 2 studs of my DP, but if that's the correct part, I'll try to install it anyway.Since no one has replied yet, I don't fully understand. It looks like the bracket you're holding is supposed to go like this

I got the pic above from this thread
https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/grimmspeed-turbo-heat-shield-intsalled-142979.html
Unless those aren't your pictures you've attached, and you're missing that bracket?
*Also looks like it attaches to some other bracket too
https://www.grimmspeed.com/content/install_guides/heat_shield_subaru.pdf
The history of this car since I've got it has been of questionable repair people. Missing random parts, botched repairs, and on and on.. hence why I'm asking.

For the longest time, I was getting the one (2096) code. The 303 didnt come into play almost a year later. The 2096 wasn't a constant issue hence the length if time in finding thee fix for my case. Thanks Scotty the difference is that I’m getting just the one code. I think I might just bite the bullet and get a OE Denso then continue down the flow chart. I’m really curious to see how fuel pressure and other systems are behaving. I just got stuck on this resistance issue, started breaking into a beautiful wiring harness and getting overwhelmed. Wanting to fix the resistance issue I just have no idea how. The wires quickly become lost in a massive bundle that’s really well packaged. What I'm trying to say is that there could be something else in the mix that's causing the 2096 to come up and it's just not rearing its ugly head....

Thank you for the link.. totally gonna do this when I have downtime... LOLThis guy, just a a generic kit of a few feet of different size hoses. I saw your about to tackle your's as well. I regret not taking the IM off and replacing a few more gaskets while I'm at it but time is not on my side currently. Getting ready for a dyno day July 11th-12th and busy with plans every weekend until then.More like someday..

Have you tried using an oil tracer dye? I've done that back in my dealership days with moderate success.PCV didn't do jack. Cleaned/inspected half a dozen times, no idea where it's coming from. Rear main seal? Oil separator plate? Left/right head gasket? Oil pan gasket? Oil comes back towards the transmission drain plug, and also comes down the rear of the oil pan.Don't want to pull the engine, don't want to blindly reseal oil pan and risk damaging it during removal, or damage something else by accident.
So.. I did something I never thought I'd do. Got a can of liqui moly motor oil saver at napa, threw that in my oil today. It's supposed to slightly swell seals and gaskets to stop leaks, we'll see, it has good reviews on amazon. I know what you're probably thinking, but my car is probably only worth 2-3k, so I figure why not try it..

As I tell everyone, you cant take it to the grave. If you can swing it and not get into a bind financially, do it.....So got a trade request for my 18x9.5 et38 Work Emotion CR Kiwami for a set of 18x10 et36 Rotiform TMB 2 Piece wheels (pictured below). Although I really like how my current set up looks with the white, I do love me some dish and like the fact that the Rotiforms are a forged wheel as well. Decisions, decisionsScotty

Finally installed my long acquired catted DP. Flashed stage 2 from the AP. I'm kinda liking this.. [emoji106][emoji106]

Thanx for the offer. I ended up buying a wingless from a junkyard for 50bux, and sold my winged one for 50bux...It's been quite a while, just curious if you're still interested. I've got an 05 OBP wingless with all badges, been toying with the idea of swapping it for a while nowScotty

To give an example. Way back when my Daytona Shelby was stock, I did what is considered a stock rebuild. Between the balance shaft removal, gasket matching and blending, and installing the factory intercooler w/corresponding turbo.. I gained roughly 35hp and about 65lb/ft of torque.I appreciate your interest in my build and compliments, but I have to disagree. Boosted engines benefit quite a bit from valve and port work. Anything that makes power on an NA engine will make power on a boosted engine and let you make that power at lower pressure.https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showpost.php?p=42414744&postcount=3
As far as log vs tubular, what I've seen is that logs usually spool faster due to less internal volume and tubular make top end power due to better flow.
The Chrysler 2.5 is know to be a torque beast.. that was still the factory non-intercooled calibration. Porting on a boosted engine works wonders!

I'm ok with it. I tend to have awesome ideas...Oh sure, mod has to come in and ruin the fun [emoji14]I guess Ive always seen and would have thought to use imitation carbon leather - can you do a real carbon fiber boot?
Even better... what about carbon fiber boot frames?! I know mine and im sure many others are cracked to pieces.
Look what youve started!! Im going to need a second job for all this...
