  1. I don't know how many times I read through this post in the past couple years, telling myself I wouldn't do it, even when I didn't have a BP yet. Yet here I am, stupidly awaiting my JDM Outback bumper to arrive. Going to hit the junkyards here soon and strip off a sedan rear bumper beam and brackets. Then I gotta redo my exhaust to get rid of these goofy-ass turndowns. Think you could explain what you had to move over from your stock skin to the new one using a rivet gun? Was that just for a brand new skin that comes bare and a used skin that came off of a car would already have everything necessary on it?
  2. I'm starting to get bored of the mild characteristics of my CBR600. I've been riding it every day for the last year straight, minus the ~two weeks this winter that I couldn't. Thinking of doing something dumb and upgrading to a newer CBR600 or finally getting a CBR1000. 100hp is cool for a while until I can't keep up with other people on rides anymore and my old suspension and frame are showing on a track.
  3. The new XT will just be a replacement for the aging H6 models. 2019 officially marks the death of the Subaru H6 motor. On topic, I've been slowly putting my OBXT back together. New (used) motor is in, exhaust is mostly on, engine harness is on and just about everything is connected. Just slowly finishing up attaching the intake manifold and the mess of vacuum lines I have to deal with. I've forgotten where all my vac lines go so I'm just going in blind trying to remember stuff now.
  4. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks that the lighting in these cars is just abysmal, even after changing to LEDs. Upgrading to LEDs was one of the first things I did to mine. It blows me away that they apparently never turned the lights off to look at this car in the dark and tried to find something inside as a test. I still have to do the "door open, map + dome light" mod.
  5. Long slide kit for my VP9 is on my list of "wants for when I have too much money." I have no use for it and can't use it in Production class so I can't even justify it as a competition bonus. I've been putting together some dumb guns for no reason at this point. Still waiting on a couple bolts to show up so I can finish some AR10s and trying out a new trigger in an AR47 to see if I can get it to strike properly.
  6. The fastest TMIC Subaru out there has a Grimmspeed TMIC and is running 9s in the 1/4 mile on it, making 550/535. I think you'll be fine.
  7. You'd need to measure IATs pre- and post-TMIC before and after the scoop install. Realistically, there's not going to be a real difference. It's a cosmetic item, not a performance-driven item.
  8. I asked before about people swapping in an OEM harness or recreating it and it didn't sound like anyone was really keen on it.
  9. Came out looking awesome! The gray on gray is a great combo. The rear view cam in the wiper delete is a nice touch, too.
  10. Ah, I kind of forgot about this thread. I've still been pretty lazy. I daily rode my motorcycle through most of this Michigan winter since it was absurdly light this year for some reason and I'm still riding it, so I don't have too much of a push to get this thing done quick. Pulled the motor, swapped everything over that I needed to. Installed the Group N motor mounts, IAG AVCS/turbo oil feed line, ATP turbo oil drain line, and maybe a couple other things. I've just been waiting on installing the motor. Also bought a bunch of dumb stuff to try to give me more motivation to work on it. JDM facelift Momo steering wheel w/ cruise control, audio controls, and paddle shifters. JDM facelift power folding heated mirrors w/ mirror folding and headlight leveling switch (plus Cargo Fan!). JDM Outback rear bumper. And I got another set of Defi DIN gauges. That's all for now. Motor is ready to drop in, just haven't gotten around to it. Might try to this weekend.
  11. By all means, feel free. I've got no issue with his stuff other than price. Maybe that's just broke me talking. In other news, my mirrors showed up today as I was leaving for work. They seem to be in great condition so I'm pretty happy about that. Getting another JDM switch panel bezel in black so that it'll have the proper headlight leveling label on it instead of using my current USDM one.
  12. With all due respect to Randy, most of his stuff tends to be pretty highly priced. He usually quotes around double the price of what most other importers want for stuff. If it's something rare that you want him to track down and you don't feel like checking YAJ, I'm sure he's great, but otherwise, you can get better deals virtually anywhere else. He was selling a JDM Outback rear bumper for $700. I sent him an offer as an "In case you need to get rid of it and no one else offers anything" price. He scoffed at it and rejected the offer, so I went with a different importer and paid under $400 shipped for the same thing.
  13. This guy put up a couple JDM front clips and I've been keeping an eye on him. Trying to find out if he can get a facelift Outback front clip in black. https://www.ebay.com/itm/JDM-2005-2008-Subaru-Legacy-Nose-Cut-w-Radiator-Support-Hood-Fenders-HID/283411061464?hash=item41fc9d9ad8%3Ag%3AfgsAAOSw4ylchBKh&LH_ItemCondition=4 This one is pre-facelift, but includes rear bumper and side skirts, too. https://www.ebay.com/itm/JDM-2005-2008-Subaru-Legacy-Nose-Cut-w-Radiator-Support-Hood-Fenders-HID/283411123480?hash=item41fc9e8d18%3Ag%3AFyEAAOSwXCVchCFn&LH_ItemCondition=4
  14. The latest delivery. JDM Momo branded facelift steering with with paddle shifters, audio control, and cruise control.
  15. That wrap looks great! Especially with the wood trim. I normally hate wood grain interior but that flows well enough to make me want to convert to the 08-09 interior.
  16. I always say it, but we get shafted so hard in America when it comes to JDM exclusives. There are so many options for things you've never even considered that we just don't get here and it sucks. Subaru of America just does not care about us.
  17. Wow, I didn't know the pre-facelift mirrors had so many options! Very cool! Trying to figure out which color some of these actually are is pretty tricky, considering a lot of these eBay sellers have bright blue or red backgrounds and completely throw off the colors of the lenses.
  18. To my knowledge, the only two blues available are regular blue and a teal/green. His definitely look like the regular blue.
  19. I'm sure mine will be sitting for a while, too. My double DIN head unit doesn't fit the JDM bezel without trimming, so I haven't touched that, either. That reminds me that I've had a dash cam sitting for a couple years now that I've yet to put in a car. I lucked out with these ones being 10 pin and being black and coming with the entire dash switch, plus the seller accepting a low offer. Plus it has a Cargo Fan switch on it, which *almost* makes me want to add it in. But I probably won't and I'll just click the button for fun. I'm just happy I won't have to paint these. I've still been begging UK sellers to ship to the US and none even bother responding to me. US/Canada-side importers say they can't find any.
  20. Trying to buy stuff so I'll have motivation to get my car going again. Picked up some JDM mirrors that I've been wanting to buy for a while, as well as a facelift steering wheel with audio controls to go with the JDM double DIN I bought. My motor is still out of the car and my lazy ass hasn't done anything lately.
  21. For a more OEM alternative, I upgraded to the P204UH head unit with an svxdc harness to use the factory aux jack in the center console, then I plugged a Bluetooth receiver into the aux and 12V jack there. Factory aux, through and through, that's easily converted to Bluetooth. I'm upgrading to a JDM double DIN setup, though
  22. Did your head unit fit the Scosche bezel or did you still have to trim it for that, too? Have any pictures of your install? Curious especially to see how the faceplate looks meshed with the JDM HVAC after cutting it in half.
