  1. Just noticed that little tiny light that shares the same area roughly with the high beam is blown. Anyone know what that light is referred to as? What type of bulb is it?
  2. Just picked up a set of stock GT wheels in good shape. Quick question for any GT owners lowered on stock wheels... What size spacer should I expect to need when I mount these wheels? Obviously I won't be slammed with a set of lowering springs but I would like to have the wheels sit further out and more flush with the fender and not have any rubbing issues.
  3. Looking for a set of 2010+ GT wheels in good shape with or without tires. Located in western CT.

  5. So, I figure since I've already started a headlight thread, I'll just keep all my questions contained within it I ended up going with those VLED bulbs and so far so good (just a few months into them so fingers crossed). My new issue tho is that all the rest of my bulbs are the standard yellowish color while my low beams are a lovely 6000k. Are there any halogens that are around that I can replace my drl/highbeam/foglights that would match this color? Are there any other lights that I'm forgetting? If not halogen, what are my options? I'd rather not spend what I spent on the VLEDs to replace these as this is purely for aesthetics. I figure since the drl/highbeams are the same bulb (do I have this right?) with a limiter diminishing output for the drl, that LED bulds wouldn't work and would flicker or something. I dont know, let me know what you guys think.
  6. Awesome, appreciate the responses guys. Can anyone spell out specifically which bushings I should target? So far I'm thinking some 2010 struts and all things associated to replace and adding some swift springs along with a rear sway bar swap and whatever bushings you all deem are necessary.
  7. I should also point out that I drive a pig of a 3.6 and really have no intention of turning into a track star. I just wanna like the way it looks when I walk to the parking lot. I'm actually considering sticking with new 2010 struts cuz I dont mind the feel of mine and I hear the 2013's just firm things up abit and also just replacing bushings and leaving the sway bars alone.
  8. Trying to get the ball rolling with this car and I figured after I get it back from the shop, I'll want to get started on the suspension. Won't be doing anything crazy, just going to replace the springs (either HR or swifts) and put in some new shocks or struts or whatever. I've heard the 2013's are the way to go if you're sticking with OE. What I'd like to know is what other suspension bits should I take care of while I'm under there? I'm sitting on 122k and would imagine some other stuff may need a swap. Any suggestions? Also, quick sidebar...I would like to snag a set of GT wheels (let me know if you know of any for sale) and would like to know what amount of rubbing, if any, will take place with those OE wheels and basic lowering springs.
  9. Damn, figures the car i decide not to install a wild stereo into has the best alternator.
  10. The varnish looks great. Goes on clear and you’d just think they were new headlights. The ReNuLite was sold with such a small amount of the product that I don’t think I could’ve ever layered enough onto the lights to get the same outcome as those that bought the stuff back when it was sold in a spray bottle. The ReNuLite was cured and the whole process was done as the instructions called for. They looked great for the week or 2 that they didn’t peel. This really sucks though. This car looks great with tinted lenses.
  11. Today I repeated the process of sanding and polishing but instead went with the tried and true SPAR UV protectant. Came out great. The plan was to give the lights a good 6 hours to dry and then apply the lamin-x film I bought. Turns out the film has an adhesive backing to it and if you need to adjust when applying, you have to peel the film off. Not the best idea after spending the morning applying a bunch of layers of liquid protectant. The film peeled off the 3 hours of work I’d done already which left my light looking patchy and shitty and rendered the film useless as it no longer had any adhesive on the patches that came off my light. I just spent the last hour adding more layers to build up the SPAR back on my light to make the patches fade away. Debating taking the car to a shop to have a film professionally installed and letting them know what I’ve done regarding the protection. This whole process has been exactly the headache I expected.
  12. This is 1 or 2 weeks after my headlight restoration and what you’re seeing is the clear coat/uv protection peeling off.
  13. What a lovely surprise...looks like ReNuLite isn’t very durable. I don’t see how it’s possible to layer it up as was suggested given the amount they provide you in this bullshit kit. Does anyone have a source for the product in bulk and not in kit form? If not I WOULD NOT recommend. I’m gonna have to go back to that spar urethane again.
  14. Before During After Also installed some VLED bulbs. Using this post as a timestamp to guage their lifespan.
  15. Yea but mine came in a kit at a Levine auto parts store. They apparently used to sell like a small spray bottle but this was all I could find. Doesn’t exactly leave you with much left in the end. I almost would’ve rather paid the $50 people were talking about for the larger amount so I could’ve really laid a thick layer on.
  16. Also added the Vleds so we’ll see how those work out tonight. They seemed brighter when I compared 1 halogen to 1 vled in a well lit garage.
  17. Here’s how they started During the sanding After the ReNuLite Crystal clear. I’m going to order the laminx and toss them on ASAP.
  18. I was that guy when I bought those knock off headlights you find all over the place and quickly found out that aiming them was basically impossible. Drove like that till a bulb burned out and swapped back in the old lights.
  19. I've been going crazy researching headlight restoration techniques the last few weeks and I know the sanding (500 all the way up to 3000 or whatever), buffing, polishing, and follow up with urethane clear coat for amazing results...that you'll have to repeat every.*******.year. Found this link and a local joint that sells the main component. Gonna try it out this weekend and likely follow up with a laminx tint over them really soon for further protection.
  20. I can do it blindfolded at this point the amount of times I've dealt with these stupid halogens.
  21. Why would anyone change their bulbs through the wheel well instead of pulling the bumper?
