  1. Yes that's right. So turbo oil feed banjo Bolt is m10 x 1.5 My turbo is m12 x 1.25. You know the last 2 links you have of the turbo oil feed line . Where on the Diagrams does the top of the oil feed line and top of the oil return line connect to ? Couldn't figure it out. And in the cylinder head diagram there are 2 banjos with the filter inside, they both are part number : 14445AA090 , Bolt number 3 , one on the left side and one on the right side of the cylinder heads, But also can't figure out in the diagram exactly where these are. Would love to inspect this. For all I know these damn filter bolts could have been the cause of my previous engine failure which they said was due to oil starvation. If the clogged banjo filters was such a major problem for the turbos in the previous Subaru's then same applies to any banjo filter around the engine. Should be inspected with every service. Even if someone did regular services you just never know what will cause it to clog. Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
  2. I've been looking at the diagrams and I'm almost certain the oil feed turbo banjo Bolt is an m10 check your parts that you received, the m10 Bolt part number 15194AA110 is the one with the restricter in it (restrictor basically being a smaller hole in the Bolt to slow down and reduce oil flow) which is what they use for the turbo oil feed banjo Bolt. All the other banjo bolts seem to be m12 Please verify. Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
  3. Yep, Les the guru. Great guy. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Wish he was around here in Australia to work on my car. I have major trust issues with mechanics Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
  4. I've had it for 2 years. Got it from fahr side who is on the forum. Used it for few thousand miles. Then blew engine. (not related to Turbo) Rebuilt engine. Reinstalled turbo then leaked oil everywhere. They told me turbo fault. I said impossible it was fine previously and brand new internals. So put my stock turbo back in. Have had the 18g since. So recently took it to specialist to have a look. He said nothing wrong at all. So he rebalanced. New seals, bearings for the heck of it. And now once I gather all the info I can. I will reinstall it myself with my friend. I have a feeling the leak was something to do with improper install. Maybe the drain pain. Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
  5. Yep your right. Thanks. Btw in the m12 bolt for the oil feed. What is the diameter of orifice. ? Also it looks like its m12x 1.25 ? Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
  6. Yeh I'm upgrading to tdo5 18gtx hybrid vf54 Turbo so I will need m12 banjo Bolt and orifice on stock will be too small for the new turbo. I think orifice on stock banjo is 1.5mm diameter. I will need at least a 2mm for the td05 according to the turbo specialists. The stock turbos seem to be fine. You don't really hear of people blowing their stock vf45 turbos. My stock turbo is on about 80k miles, last 15k miles on 17lbs boost, very aggressive driving non stop boost. So oil feed doesn't seem to be an issue but I do change oil frequently. About every 4k miles. Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
  7. BTW I guess if we have the banjo filters on other parts of the car then we should include this in maintanece check. Even if there is no filter on the connection direct to the turbo there is still a filter to the avcs which is still technically part of the turbo oil feed line. You don't really hear of our vf54 turbos having oil starvation issues but still we should check the filter on the avcs . If that gets clogged then it will still hurt the turbo anyway. 8. Great thanks for you help. Starting to make sense. One thing though. I search for the oil feed banjo Bolt 15194AA110 and all sellers saying its m10 ? Not sure the pitch size and length Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
  9. Does anyone know what size the oil feed line banjo bolt to our vf54 turbo is? and what size the avcs oil line banjo bolt is ? Ive been looking at the diagrams but just very confusing to know which is which , too many lines and banjo bolt connections.
  10. Good luck in your future endevours. i was a lurker in your build thread and learnt alot personally thanks
  11. Let me confirm if our cars still have the avcs banjo bolts filters. I know the gen 4 do. Not sure if avcs banjo filter is a problem anyway. I'll update thread. Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
  12. Sorry , already found the answer. I'll leave the thread anyway for reference for others. The banjo Bolt to the turbo does not have the filter mesh inside. However some other banjo bolts to the engine have the mesh inside. Thanks Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
  13. Hi Does anyone know if our 5th GENS have the filter mesh in the banjo Bolt for the turbo? Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
  14. What the latest with this? Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
  15. Damn forgot to update this thread. Sorry guys Only recently found the source of the rattle anyway lol. Was actually the after market boost solenoid/controller hitting what ever was next to it. So they just bent the bracket slightly to get it out of the way and all good. I did end up changing valve body because that was dead, but torque converter was fine. Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
  16. Im yet to know anyone who has modified the Valve Body on the 5th Gen 5EAT Wish they had the 5EAT 5th GEN in the US. You guys would have been all over the modification by now Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
  17. Valve body mod is only available from 05-07. The 5th Generation Australian liberty Gt 5eat is the exact same transmission as the Subaru legacy 3.6r in the US 08/09 gt valve bodies are different to the 05-07 valve body and our Australian 5th gen liberty gt valve bodies are different again to both Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
  18. Of course. I'm shot peening entire centre diff, alto clutch packs throughout, overhaul kit e.t.c. It's good that most of the 5th generation internals are the same as the 4th generation so I can use the same aftermarket clutch rebuild kits. Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
  19. No problem, yes please let me know how you go, I will as well. My torque converter and valve body are pretty much gone. So I'm doing a full transmission rebuild anyway, But without the valve body mod we won't be able to go for high power. I'm aiming for 450hp . Firmer shifting and gear change behaviour is essential for higher powered autos. Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
  20. I couldn't find an email address, only phone numbers. Time difference will make it impossible to call Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
  21. Just to update, we are confident the rattle noise is Infact a damaged torquconverter. I have valve body codes and torqconverter codes thrown and car went into fail-safe mode the other day. Also in drive/idle the car is getting very rough and it's not engine related as I have a new engine. All heat shield checked as well, so most likely it is torque converter on the way out Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
  22. I would love to find out the same thing, I have a 2010 Australian Liberty 5EAT gt as well and I am currently rebuilding my transmission. I don't think anyone in the US has compared the 4th generation valve body to the 5th Generation because they don't have the 5th Generation 5EAT in the US. They only have the 5EAT in their 3.6r legacy I think. But if the 5th Generation transmission is known as Jatco JR507E which is known as in the Nissan as RE5R05A, and trans Go have a kit for the RE5R05A, then maybe it should work on our 5th Gen? I would be willing to buy a kit and test it out. Unless someone knows for sure that it will be a complete waste of time. Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
  23. It is, piece of art, for the price though may as well frame it lol. Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
  24. I went on hardrace website they don't have any brake stoppers for the 5th gen liberty/legacy They once listed a 5th gen stopper and I ordered it but it was not the correct part and they have since removed the listing. Neoplot make a stopper for the 5th gen but it's fairly expensive https://www.nengun.com/neoplot/master-cylinder-stopper-neo Not sure if suitable for LHD Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
  25. Would the noise be there at a specific rev range? And would it disappear when revs go up? Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
