  1. Dropped off a ton of parts that were sitting for a year or two today. Finally got to see the TIC SST coilovers as well they are fantastic. Legacy got a fresh change of 5w30 Motul and the 5w30 Castrol edge is off to Blackstone labs for testing. http://i.imgur.com/ITeoiCt.jpg http://i.imgur.com/V1CiEAC.jpg http://i.imgur.com/8QWqulB.jpg
  2. You should be able to do so as theoretically speaking when you unplug the TCU and the automatic rom is still sending data for the 5AT it trips codes.
  3. The more I drive this car the more I want to keep it , My only gripes with it are that the stock suspension is super soft / worn out and that the car gets horrible fuel economy. I will likely try and source some Spec B or GT billsteins without lowering springs for it to fix the suspension issues. On the tuning side I think a lot can be done with a downpipe and removing all the cats. Also it will fix the horrible stock electric throttle response. http://i.imgur.com/77C5ryD.jpg Bonus STi wagon picture http://i.imgur.com/B4Kkyo1.jpg
  4. Picked up some 255/35/R18 Pilot Super Sports for the RCT4. Ironically i bought them from Pratt and Mill the same company that runs the C7R racing program in IMSA. http://i.imgur.com/NEPf0Gg.jpg
  5. its completely stock but I feel the struts have been replaced. All the wheels were in the back when i took that picture.
  6. Ran up to Flint this weekend to pickup my wheels and the theme for this year is once again all gold everything The TE37s are for sale as I have decided to sell the Legacy this spring to get another bugeye because I just like the GG chassis way more even though the LGT is really comfortable. I kinda miss driving a manual and its rather boring. Still waiting on more parts to come in and coilovers to be rebuilt at Turn In Concepts so the car probably won't be on the road with 5x114 hubs until mid April at this rate. http://i.imgur.com/EWYA4Q1.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Nd4Y4Zi.jpg http://i.imgur.com/j1Orvya.jpg http://i.imgur.com/i2AGyCS.jpg
  7. Yeah my CE28n had the same stamps , I don't think they did it to the TE37 line until like around 2007.
  8. If the EJ255 explodes yeah but it shows no signs of issues and has zero oil consumption. I kinda want to get it tuned if I keep it but I still am on the lookout for another rust free bugeye wagon or a 2004-2005 E46 Touring with the winter package. 100% sure I have owned three sets in this size , these are the older ones and they didn't start to do the stamping process until later in the 2000s. When you pick them up you immediately know they are forged lightweight wheels and they also had the stickers documenting when they were made.
  9. Four years of Bugeye ownership ! This year will likely be the last year of major upgrades as I want a house in 2018 as living in an apartment is not terrible its just I prefer to have a nice big garage. http://i.imgur.com/3R0cK1S.jpg
  10. Woke the car up after four months of sleeping , started right up and ran great. Also had another parts order come in that had some S204 lateral links and an S202 steering wheel. I also have some MSGA hats for added lolz Has anyone done a cruise control retrofit to keep it while running a wheel that is not designed for it ? http://i.imgur.com/F6ILQEi.jpg http://i.imgur.com/MmvVM7E.jpg [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8QDxgkPIL0]Bugeye is still alive just sleeping - YouTube[/ame]
  11. Wow it took that much to level out the rear ?
  12. So its February and starting to feel more like winter here in Michigan which sucks cause I really dislike the cold. I am spending my time working on honing my video editing skills so that I can pump out a bunch of quality You tube videos this summer unlike most of the dubstep infused garbage you see when viewing videos about Subaru's. I also should have the first batch of the Make Subaru Great Again hats sometime in the next week and if they all get sold out fast I will have to get another batch made but enough of that rubbish and onto the cars. Top picture is Sno Drift 2014 bottom is Fall 2016 http://i.imgur.com/z2N0JK5.jpg Legacy GT Wagon Legacy daily driver is performing well even though I managed to break the drivers side rear door handle already due to freezing rain and my retard strength. There is a weird vibration in the rear of the car on startup and partial throttle which I think is related to the aftermarket towing hitch that is on the car which I probably should just remove. It seems to like the 5w30 Castrol Edge oil as it has not consumed anything really 1200 miles into the oils life cycle. I am going to have an oil test done by blackstone labs when I drain it in a few months and have some 5w30 Motul Xclean oil to replace it with. I am also really tempted to have some light tuning done on the car to try and increase its piss poor fuel economy above 20-21mpg combined. I feel it can probably do 25-26mpg on the highway but never has the chance to do that due to my drive to work. So parts for the Legacy this spring are 17x7.5 +48 Rays TE37s 225/45/17 Continental DW tires Spec B Billstein struts Rev B STi Pink springs That should make the car handle well , ride well and look pretty good too. It will remain stock turbo for all of its life and in the event the EJ255 dies it will get replaced with an EJ20Y out of a JDM Legacy GT. Bugeye financial nightmare Bugeye has been sleeping for a few months now while the bank account has recovered from its beating in 2016. So far I am on track for a full suspension update for the car and possibly E85. It will remain stock turbo until the driver can control it 100% or the stock turbo dies. Still working on the specifics but I know I will have 18x9 +35 Enkei RCT4 wheels as the street wheel setup where as I will keep my Mach V Awesomes or get some 5x114 Sti bbs to abuse on the track. Still have not decided on tires yet but I really want to try the Hankook RS4 and will also likely need a set of RE71R if I want to be competitive in time attack down the road. So parts so far for the Bugeye are TIC SST Coilovers 9k/8k swift springs Vorshalg camber plates STi Group N / Super Pro bushings all over the car Group N Diff mount Super Pro roll center kit 2004 STi steering rack 5x114 Hubs STi Pink or S204 Lateral links STi Pink trailing arms 21mm STi RA-R sway bars Centric blank rotors Power Stop track day bro pads Pictures , cause everyone loves pictures http://i.imgur.com/92oc8DT.jpg http://i.imgur.com/qFh2Kmu.jpg
  13. I think GR Wrx fuel rails , TGV and lines would work as well and they are top feed.
  14. Parts starting to show up STi timing belt Group N Diff mount Spec B Billstein struts for the Legacy Lateral links Spare VF40 turbo Sti Sway bars http://i.imgur.com/71KmxFn.jpg
  15. I do like it , Although I need to fix the drivers side rear door handle which broke when it froze. I also ordered a spare VF40 turbo this week for it that will sit on the shelf in the case that the original one dies. Then just drive it until it dies or needs a major overhaul. Then the EJ20Y gets swapped into it.
  16. Three years ago I did some snowplowing at Sno Drift. Its kinda scary how far this car has come and how much money has been spent on it. http://i.imgur.com/z2N0JK5.jpg
  17. Did a wheel drop Friday and filled the hell out of the legacy. http://i.imgur.com/0UOsKOb.jpg http://i.imgur.com/svhLvbG.jpg RCT4 will be gold for sure TE37s maybe a nice glossy black ? http://i.imgur.com/52l8WlM.jpg http://i.imgur.com/PiSArX9.jpg http://i.imgur.com/VyXpIiL.jpg
  18. I would say under $450 is a good deal , Shipping in general will be around $150-$200 from Japan usually.
  19. S204 Lateral links on the way , I think I have the sway bar link boxes laying around on the shelf too somewhere. http://i.imgur.com/5YXUxpe.jpg
  20. I mean if you want to upgrade the shift forks it won't hurt as PPG and Rallispec has products that fit a track cars needs. That is the main failure point I have seen on track cars. I don't think I would even worry about the clutch if you are staying at your current power levels , I went with a twin plate because I am expecting to go E85 on my track car this year.
  21. http://i.imgur.com/bFs7SzI.jpg Signed up for all three days so I will get a ton of seat time , car will consume gallons of fuel and it will be glorious. Also going to be running on 5x114 STi bbs for the track as they are dirt cheap and fit a 245 easily. Going to run the RCT4 if it rains and when driving around town. Things to do before hand now 5x114 Hub swap Suspension refresh R180 seals need replacing Feal coilovers complete fluid flush Timing and misc services before tracking the car Maybe E85 and Id1000s ?
  22. Did the whole Detroit auto show today.Legacy got premium vip protected parking spot. http://i.imgur.com/b3xl5hM.jpg Man the 2018 STi is kinda sad , The brake upgrade is great but the front end is hard to look at and the interior is still pretty lackluster for a $35,000 - $40,000 car. There were some awesome race cars here too like the NSX , Ford GT and M6. http://i.imgur.com/d5sd08H.jpg http://i.imgur.com/lYCyFvq.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Ihpl7Oe.jpg http://i.imgur.com/MsHQGc8.jpg http://i.imgur.com/VYuTVdp.jpg http://i.imgur.com/JiLbPmy.jpg http://i.imgur.com/YgcbAzy.jpg
  23. Mine feels rather good from 2200 - 4500 then falls on its face. I think a lot of it has to do with the heads on the EJ255.
  24. Doing some more research on the EJ20Y swap I want to do on this car and after talking with people who have done it and reading every post I can find I have come to this basic concept. You will need to wire in AVCS and OCV lines for the exhaust AVCS then repin them on the JDM ecu which is identical to the usdm ecu except it has wiring going to pins for the exhaust side avcs. Then you will need the jdm ecu married to your immobilizer at a dealership or have someone with the correct skills do it for you. Alternatively people have had their usdm immobilizer chip soldered onto the jdm ecu as well but that requires a special set of skills. When comparing say a 2005 JDM Legacy 2.0GT to a 2005 USDM Legacy GT oem tune the tables are all the same with the addition of exhaust AVCS tables from what I am seeing so far. Obviously the data in the tables is very different as you are comparing two very different engines that essentially run on the same type of ECU. Things that I still am not 100% on would be the automatic TCU interaction with the JDM rom but the tables seem to be similar. Also sourcing specific sensors / parts for the exhaust side avcs might end up being a pain in the ass but should be able to be imported from Japanparts as judging by bugeye parts the BP/BL Legacy still has another 3-5 years of parts service from Japanese dealerships.
