  1. Of course a bunch of guys swap the USDM ecu for testing Yep , That is how you do it.
  2. People have done it before by having a usdm Wrx ecu with a safe tune on it in california
  3. That is a possible option as well but it would have to have AC , Heat and all the normal creature comforts to be considered. EJ207 time !
  4. I am lucky to have my Wrx to beat on to get it out of my system. Its rather tough but I keep a picture of a BMW E39 M5 as my work background so I can be reminded of future wagon project 2.0 M5 Wagon !
  5. So for my birthday I decided I am going to head on down to Mid Ohio for a monday track day with 3balls racing. Things that need to be addressed before then go as follows Fix AC Front pad swap titanium pad shims bleed brakes replace shifter with the oem STi short throw Tune the car with the 750cc injectors TIC master cylinder brace Install oil temperature gauge Things I would like to have in addition to the above Upgrade to a larger oil cooler core Install Oswald front crash beam Spec C roof vent New Falken 615k+ tires in 255/40/17 Brake ducting using Corvette ducts Interior back in the car , Preferably black interior as I hate the blue bugeye interior Add some sound deadening in the cabin so its quieter at highway speeds and driving around town
  6. Standard bugeye operating procedure just to keep the owner on his toes
  7. I will keep that in mind , First things first is I have to put a an interior back into it and get it ready for mid ohio in two months. Legacy keeps on chugging along to work averaging 20-22mpg sadly. Good news is there is no oil consumption on the 5w30 Motul Eco energy , I will be interested to see what the oil test says when I drain it at 4000 miles. Neither of my Subaru's consume oil which is making me suspicious , Girlfriend also got a brand new 2017 Crosstrek which is actually really nice. http://i.imgur.com/gYMzqH6.jpg
  8. Quite a lot , fixing all the other rust and body issues cost more than a used bugeye but it was worth it. That is why I am so hesitant of doing things to my Legacy , I would rather find a nice shell to build the ultimate LGT daily driver. Brembos S402 parts 5AT or 6mt EJ20X/Y Billstein HD suspension 2003MY STi Spec C 17x8 +50 wheels Just a comfortable wagon to drive around to work with adequate torque to surprise all the local Chargers. I also kinda want to build a BMW E39 M5 wagon clone with an LS3 / LS6 in it. Knowing my history I will go overboard with either

  10. Gridlife Summary is up on my website https://jngarage.com/2017/06/21/gridlife-2017/
  11. Thanks I want my legacy to sound that good , EJ20x swap if the EJ255 ever dies is in order.
  12. Track day bro http://i.imgur.com/cg28bj7.jpg http://i.imgur.com/40oM0oV.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ccXR1o6.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ewlfu0i.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ScwTEkE.jpg http://i.imgur.com/qMYEuVx.jpg
  13. Best lap from last weekend [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcu9aaivbp4]STi Wagon 1:48.60 at Gingerman Raceway - YouTube[/ame]
  14. Did some more service items at a friends shop during the holiday. Sti steering wheel , fixed the exhaust damage from the exploding driveshaft and installed taller 8 inch springs on the TIC SST coilovers. I also ordered tires for the RCT4s this morning and should have them on the car this weekend ! http://i.imgur.com/Au3FJz1.jpg http://i.imgur.com/yabjJO2.jpg http://i.imgur.com/lpZPrjA.jpg
  15. I have not really updated this cause I have not really driven the car at all until this weekend due to not having power steering , needing service and switching to a new job. turns out the high pressure power steering fitting had came loose and once tightened it works once again ! Other items that were taken care of this weekend include a complete timing system overhaul with all new oem parts and an STi performance timing belt. Today a bunch of us with Karting at Kart 2 Kart in Sterling Heights and my friend Brian brought his 911 along. http://i.imgur.com/wMbG5Ly.jpg Up next this week is some exhaust work , oem Sti short throw shifter installation , Bosch 750cc injector installation and a few suspension tweaks before the upcoming track weekend at Gingerman raceway on June 9th. http://i.imgur.com/UHhCPuA.jpg http://i.imgur.com/SSyIRDX.jpg http://i.imgur.com/k0uj49h.jpg http://i.imgur.com/SxD7Foa.jpg
  16. Website updates and stuff https://jngarage.com/ http://i.imgur.com/JaW5RQQ.jpg
  17. Spring has arrived , time to also fix the power steering and do some minor service on the car before track days in June. LGT barely gets over 20mpg cause its a boat http://i.imgur.com/Fi3qRNw.jpg http://i.imgur.com/IRJxtqq.jpg
  18. Oil test for the Legacy came back great ! Maybe I should run this Motul 5w30 out to 4000 miles http://i.imgur.com/XYK7he8.jpg
  19. Started the day with a tint ticket in the Legacy and then the Wrx blew a power steering fitting. But it ended well with a few friends , together we make the Axis powers http://i.imgur.com/CiP6ItL.jpg http://i.imgur.com/GJX2TzB.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Qpg4m5o.jpg http://i.imgur.com/wv4Ufqf.jpg http://i.imgur.com/v82nU7S.jpg
  20. They last forever and also ride extremely well. Apparently the new replacement is as good as the pilot super sport as well.
  21. Legacy hit 140,000 miles today and remains stock. Swapped in some 225/45/R17 Continental DW tires for the summer and they ride amazing. http://i.imgur.com/g1K8geo.jpg http://i.imgur.com/9JTNxXk.jpg
  22. So the 5x114 hub swap took around 13 hours with three of us and the car feels amazing. The following parts were installed Super pro control arm bushings front and rear Oem tie rods Oem ball joints Steering rack bushings STi steering linkage 5x114 hubs with ARP studs Centric blank rotors Power Stop Track Day pads TIC SST coilovers with 9k/8k Spring rates ( AST 4100 custom valved ) Motul trans and differential fluid change Group N Differential carrier bushings S204 Lateral links STi pink trailing arms 21mm STi RA-R sway bars front and rear Problems that we found on the car Brakes were seized and performing poorly. I spent hours just cleaning and lubing the braking system. It stops so much better now its amazing. Original 2003 Wrx steering linkage was toast and seized partially on the upper joint. Original V7 STi bushings were cracked and starting to come apart all over the car. Things that still need to be addressed before track days Timing service Coolant flush Fix tiny leak from the coolant temp sensor area corner balance 1000cc injectors E85 E85 capable fuel pump Replace cobb shifter assembly with oem short throw bleed brakes and clutch Swap rear 6 inch swift 8kg springs for 8 inch versions to gain adjustment Polish headlights Oh and pictures cause everyone loves pictures http://i.imgur.com/VNkCbtw.jpg http://i.imgur.com/VUQrcxx.jpg http://i.imgur.com/5KZdUqa.jpg http://i.imgur.com/I4Ezi2J.jpg http://i.imgur.com/wD9b0u4.jpg http://i.imgur.com/jaKPgdb.jpg http://i.imgur.com/oToJcVA.jpg
  23. No thanks not at this time , I have a spare VF40 sitting on the shelf as well. More worried about a check engine light that appeared this morning , I am guessing stuck OCV but won't be sure until after work when I can pull codes.
