  1. So I was on a mission to find the Meguiars Polish and other stuff and the guys at Walmart said they'd buff it out and refinish for $25. So I think I'm going to go that avenue and see how it turns out. Sheesh hopefully they'll do a better job than me.

On a separate note, got a new bumper put on the car today. My car looks brand new, no rock chips. Got to drive a Dodge Challenger for my rental.306b2718df20111ae47af6991efae252.jpg

  2. Decided to go out for a slice of pizza; ended up spending two hours at Wawa trying to get my TPMS light to go away only to have the police follow me home. All of this on a empty stomach, I was ready to start crying like a baby.

Side note: vortex generator came in the mail and I decided to go with a carbon fiber version of the Subaru Impreza rear spoiler.d1939ec86bea5339268811144b5f0f8b.jpg

  3. 20x8.5+45 with 255/35/20 Pirelli P Zero's

How's the ride and road noise of the Pirelli's? I'm running a set of Toyo Tires 245/35/20 and I'm not a fan. Your's is the most flush I've seen with 20s. My offset right now is a +35. I'm about to install a set of saggy butt spacers for the rear cause I hate hearing it bump whenever I go over any kind of bump. Have you run into that issue with your wheels?

  4. I like the first one and last one..... the middle one with the notch looks a little odd. The last one will give you the best downforce might help keep the car a little more solid on the highway. Course the last one will need to be drilled the other 2 are probably 3m tape. That last one the wing does it say it works on our 6th gen? Does it come painted? Got a link? Also wonder if it will restrict viewing never had a wing that big on any car. You have peeked my interest in it now.

    More to come...

I was thinking the same thing too. I've never had a wing on my car that big EVER lol. A guy in a red 6th gen flew past me with one on the back of his car. It was one of those blink and you miss it. I think I was more in shock that someone actually did it. I can't confirm if it looked dope cause he was going the other way.

From the photos I've seen, it's looks about an inch off from the edge of the trunk lid itself but the wing tip itself does stop at the edge of the trunk body, if that makes sense.

I'm trying to stick with the OEM STI wing versus an eBay knock off. You can get the full piece from any Subaru dealer online part store of the like. It retails between $450-500. I was trying to look on the nasoic forum to see if someone was selling one but that site was overwhelming. Seibon has a carbon fiber one that goes for $575-600 depending on the seller and Subispeed.com has a few for various prices. Their Google reviews make me nervous about buying from them. I'm still searching around though. Maybe I can find one used.

I'm also thinking about the spoiler from the impreza sport sedan but that one also costs a pretty penny too. The Parts manager at a dealership told me i couldnt buy it because you have to own the car with that spoiler. Weird but ok. The part number is 96061FL00ANN but that's for the ice silver color.

  5. I can't believe that that 6th gen car is a 2017 vs a 2015 or 2016 AND it's listed for $7644. Any vehicle with that kind of mileage I'd stay far away from buying.
It depends. My car is worth a little more than that and I bought it brand new in 2016. I took it to an independent mechanic recently to get a estimate for parts and the guy told me my car was in great condition. I take care of my car. I also drive the heck out of my car, mostly highway. This driving around town stuff got me acting like Paul Walker in Furious 7 when he's in the minivan with his son but can't drive the way he really wants to.

  6. Nice! And I thought I drove a lot, my daily commute is about 50 miles each way. I did save some miles while my Legacy sat at the dealer for 2 months waiting on a new head unit over the summer. Gave me a chance to have a nice extended test drive in a brand new Ascent for a couple thousand miles.
Same here, I was commuting 100+ miles daily for work. But with the Covid19 lockdown, I've saved close to 15,000 miles since March of this year that would otherwise be on my car right now. I haven't test drived the Ascent but I do love the Outback.

  7. I was just looking to see what changes were made between the 2016 & 2020. They are nice, but I don’t have any intention of buying a new Liberty, for our use the Outback it more suitable.

It would be nice to have a new Liberty 3.6R & our current Outback 3.6R in the garage, but we don’t need two vehicles.

Did you guys get the XT model there in Australia?

  8. Hopefully your tear is small. I regret not getting a quote from a pro until the tear became large. I'm guessing that's a big part of why the quote I got was as high as it was.

With that said, I'm still pretty happy with how I addressed the issue. The biggest downside will be in the winter when the bottom of the heated seat won't be as effective.

Oh mine is horrible now. I just saw the recommendation for the Masta Plasta patch. Their fake leather patch feels 10,000x better than the stock pleather, that's a problem. Subaru gotta get it together.

I noticed that when I was putting the patch on. My tear is on the outer bottom so my heat vents are okay. Thinking about it now I wonder if the heated seats ruin the seats over time. Wait I take that back, that pleather is just straight garbage.

  9. I had the same problem start last fall. Got a repair kit from Amazon and fixed it up. It held up for about 2 months. Since then the tear got larger. I got a quote to fix it that came in at $425. The guy said it's a common issue on Subaru's. That was too much for me, and I feared even if he fixed it, the issue would just come back because I never had anything sharp on me to cause the issue in the first place.

So just a couple weeks ago I got a patch called Masta Plasta to cover the area and prevent it from expanding and then put on Black Panther leather seat bottom covers from Amazon for both front seats (I'm just assuming the passenger seat will eventually develop the same issue otherwise). The seat bottom covers seem nice and thick so I expect them to hold up for a long time. The wrinkles you see in the picture have subsided greatly over the couple of weeks I've had them.

So that's ~$60 fix if you're looking to spend less (more like $40 if you didn't get a cover for the passenger seat).

That is my car right now in that same exact spot [emoji17]

Had the air manifold thing (for my air suspension) changed as my old one was filled with rust and was causing leaks. Turns out the new one also leaks [emoji38]

Then my cut out exhaust valve decided to die - the motor would power up but wouldnt close the valve. I just got a new valve and got it put in! Easy!

    Video of valve!

Last but not least - my car sittin' pretty:

  11. Sorry for the delay, here is a pic of the rally bar with Hella 500s on it. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. I'll try to get a picture of the strut bar up. For some reason the site won't let me upload the picture and I'm on 2% battery at the moment.

I searched for a thread on 6th Gen front strut tower braces and came up zip.

Thoughts on front strut tower braces? Before and after experiences? I don't want theory - I know that part and don't contest it - I want someone to tell me they can honestly feel a difference and not just a trick in their head. I'm skeptical. Along with a 20mm RSB kit I'm also thinking about this mod on a 2018 3.6R, and that's about it, mechanically. Seems the two mods together might make a nice pairing.

Lastly, any thought on the rigid steering coupler?

I want my ride to be a nicely handling highway and twisty-road mountain road car (lots of that around here). Lots of miles going on this thing.

I have the front strut bar from SSD performance. This is my second time buying it because I didn’t think it made a difference. It does make a difference. Most of my driving is done on the highway and I commute a long distance to get to work. It enables me to get in and out of traffic with no issues. I also have the rear strut bar from Perrin but I think mines 22mm. I also got the Perrin steering dampener installed too courtesy of surmiser recommendation.

Handling as improved especially when cornering. You won’t notice it on straightaways but I do find that I can take corners at higher speeds with no issues. Hope that helps
