  1. Robbie when you do get your new tune file, I'd recommend doing a reset on the system.

    Procedure here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/reset-cvt-fuzzy-logic-procedure-253390.html?t=253390

I ran into some issues having run a tank of lower octane fuel and the ECU cut back power even after I had refilled with a number of tanks of higher octane rating.

Great info! I'm waiting on the same thing myself. Wouldve been real disappointing had I not seen this.

  2. I disagree. I get WRX/STI owners opening their windows to wave to me or give the thumbs up to me

You most certainly don't live in Massachusetts then haha. I've waved at an STi before and gotten a middle finger from them. Probably thought I was an old man in my legacy telling them to slow down

  3. I'd also like to give a special thanks to my friend BeastCoast for installing the tune for me and sharing his Tactrix cable. Definitely came through for me these past few days. I no longer feel deserted in a State full of WRX/STI fan boys.

Anytime man! Glad I could help out. Let me know when you get that update and we'll get it done.

    ****update****

Flashed my 1st tune today and the difference is unbelievable already and I've only driven about 15 miles!! Very happy with my decision to go forward with this and I'm sure the others who have done the same can attest to this. 7,000 miles and my car has finally woken up!

  5. Now that's a pretty sweet combination.

I spend a lot of time snowboarding in northern Vermont in the winter so I figure this way, if there is less than 12" the Subaru should do me good. Any more than that then the Rubicon comes out. My buddy works at a jeep dealership and there was a bunch of "rebates" and shit and his finance manager got me a pretty sweet rate so I couldn't pass it up.

  6. Yes I usually get in touch with him via Facebook also. If anyone is interested I'll pm you his contact details.

I did let him know there were a few other Gen6 owners interested in getting their cars tuned so hopefully if you've sent him PMs he will respond.

  7. I forgot to add! A week after getting my first tune, I got two different versions of a retune emailed to me. I drove around for 20 minutes on the original tune, stopped, pulled out my laptop, uploaded version 1a, then drove around for another 20 minutes, then uploaded 1b, and drove around for another 20 minutes. It takes about 2 minutes to upload each tune.

C'mon guys, it doesn't get better than this!!!

How did you get ahold of Matt? I tried Pming him on here and he didnt reply

    Pm me the details

    Thanks!

  8. Did you notice any remarkable change in performance?

Not at all honestly. Sounds a little better and mpg improved slightly but not much in the performance department. I even tried resetting my ECU a second time thinking the cars "brain" wasn't accounting for the increased airflow properly. A little quicker off the line at most but hardly noticeable.

I'd be interested to see someone use the SSD intake they just made available for our car even though they already had one that would've fit. It uses the stock filter box and a panel filter as opposed to the Takeda using a cone filter and replacing half of the filter box.

  9. Hi,

It does hurt the torque on the 2.5i. I was getting too much back pressure on mine when I replaced the single to a dual exhaust, so my low end torque dropped significantly. The car really struggled to gain speed from 0-30mph off the start. On the high end side the torque is amazing, there's a huge difference. My buddy told me to install a cold air intake which should help a lot and balance it out. I just can't find one that'll fit this car. Oh I forgot to add that I had to take the car back to the shop and they had to make the pipe smaller, essentially choking the exhaust to slow down or reduce some of the back pressure. That did help, but my word Subaru is making it hard to do stuff to this car. Even wheels are a pain in the butt.

Takeda TR-4303p fits and SSD performance just added the 6th gen intakes as well

  10. I had my exhaust done with a custom job from an exhaust shop also. The only difference in changing the rear mufflers is to increase the noise.

The stock system is quiet so a set of sports mufflers will add a bit of an exhaust note. There's no power increase unless you change the headers and retune the engine (which I have done also).

Sure rub it in dammit. Trade cars? :)

  11. That sound is great, no doubt about it. For me, however, I want the show to be a few steps behind the go...I always chuckle when I see a car making a lot of noise but not getting anywhere. To each his own, naturally, but if my car gets loud, it had better be a friggin rocket

I hear ya. That's how I felt before I really figured out this Land Yacht wasn't going anywhere. My feeling of self pity from my car sounding like a Vaccum outweighed all other thoughts though

  12. Yeah this is exactly what I mean! I know you get the sound benefit. So I guess what I would like to know is there any sort of performance benefit and does the tip/muffler look noticeably better than the stock?

That's a before and after stock Vs Nameless

In the description there is a video of my wife driving away from me. She was real gentle on the gas but you can get the idea.

As far as performance goes, probably not a chance from an Axleback.

Visually looks better than no tip and almost the same as the factory tip.

The sound (mine is the delete) is pretty incredible. And just so you know this was before I put my intake in so this is stock as can be.

  13. Yeah that is insane! My buddy's idea is to do the single nameless and then put on some sort of fake second exhaust just for looks. However, I've never been really a fan of fakes but I'm more of a fan of saving $500 haha.

Haha then youd have to worry about having an exact matching tip (and your own self consciousness)

  14. My impression is that 44200 would bolt right up into the cat as this is where the nameless bolts up as well if I'm not mistaken. I just really want the dual look, but I know it's going to be expensive this way. So even if this all works, I will probably have to end up going with the single nameless anyways.

If I order Part 44200 through my local Subaru dealer it's $170 and then the dual nameless is $450. So all together just for parts it's going to be at least $700...

Yea it would be real expensive considering the mid pipe would technically be a stock replacement. It would be a $700 axleback :icon_eek:
