  1. Yup! Addressing the grille is very soon on my list of visual stuff I want to do. I kind of want to keep the stock grille stock though. I think I'm going to go C-Mod grille with the outer portion body color, and some form of black housing headlights. I also might plastidip/wrap the middle portion of the bumper black up to about the license plate holes or so. Here's some pictures after its cleaning today. http://i.imgur.com/HHEJSo4.jpg http://i.imgur.com/a85oMKQ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/XRNTWFY.jpg http://i.imgur.com/jfuwgDg.jpg
  2. Update on the look of my car. Loving the look of the wrapped roof. I'm not in love with the red badge overlays, considering inverting the colors for red on silver. But I am happy to have my car looking a bit more unique than just another old stock Silver Legacy. Next up on visual mods will be black headlights and a C-Mod grille, also have a black "LEGACY" plate delete for the front. Might go special look for the headlights, but also have a buddy who might help me just paint the housings instead. http://i.imgur.com/hVXLrNm.jpg http://i.imgur.com/GvvHSNn.jpg
  3. Yoooo, my neck of the woods. I'll alert some friends.
  4. Did the tail light inserts today. Definitely made the job easier having a heat gun, but still easy install regardless. 2/10 on difficulty scale. I'd give the fit an 8.5 and the cut a 9/10, they're a little bit larger than the application spot in order to be tucked a bit. My install was a little bubbly, so I popped the bubbles with the tip of an exacto knife. I think they look great, and the turn signal light is still visible clearly. I'll report back in the future on their durability, but for now they look and feel nice. Recommended heat gun (any will do, this ones affordable): http://www.homedepot.com/p/Wagner-HT1000-1200-Watt-Heat-Gun-0503008/100048744. This can be found on amazon, but the amazon link kept changing to some weird newegg or jcpenney link whenever I would paste it. Recommended tutorial video if you've never done these before: http://i.imgur.com/FmfVzTE.jpg Car on. http://i.imgur.com/2LJoWbw.jpg Turn signal on. http://i.imgur.com/7RQTYtf.jpg
  5. It would be amazing if they even took it a step further and built a product specifically for our platform. Maybe they were never even aware of the fitment for the Legacy and the number of people who have utilized that product. Really hope this errs towards a positive outcome.
  6. Purchased a couple minor cosmetic touches recently and didn't recall seeing them posted before so I figured I'd share here. First is some emblem overlays from ProStickers. These are customizable, tons of color options for both the background and stars, and are cut to fit each specific Subaru per the options you choose. You get three overlas: front badge, rear badge, and steering wheel. They haven't arrived yet, but the reviews are sparkling, and the pictures look quite nice. Will report back once I get them and put them on. Roughly $22 shipped, couple bucks more for certain color options. http://emblemoverlays.com/products/subaru-stars (pictures from their site) http://i.imgur.com/UA8to5v.jpg http://i.imgur.com/PiYVXQZ.jpg Second thing is some pre-cut smoke vinyl inserts for the rear blinker lights from Premium Auto Styling. Pretty simple thing, but always nice to have something tailor-made for our cars. Again, very affordable at $16.99 with free shipping, or more if you pick up the application tool kit option extras (largest option is +$40 for a heat gun, squeegee, and other bits). Will report back on quality, fit, and application once they arrive. http://www.premiumautostyling.com/subaru-legacy-smoked-tail-light-inserts-2010-2013/ (again, pictures from their site) http://i.imgur.com/QXeMAnM.jpg http://i.imgur.com/aOL9j2K.jpg
  7. "Please let me know if you have any questions or how I can help you further" This is verbatim what I end my service emails with lmao
  8. Anybody still alive in this area? Schaumburg checking in.
  9. The president of my company just bought a new S8. Outright. Sure would love that car, but 116k starting price is just a bit out of my reach haha.
  10. If you look at a stock XT picture, it's actually pretty darn noticeable. Gteaser's drop isn't lowlife/slowlife low, so it's still tasteful and subtle, but side-by-side it's pretty drastic imo. http://i.imgur.com/K25fKcl.jpg
  11. Did you hear about the guy who dropped his teapot? He didn't have a handle on it.
  12. Really? Where can you find them for that amount? Everywhere I see them they're listed around $1799.
  13. Has anyone had any experience with the D2 Racing RS36 Coilovers? Don't recalled seeing them mentioned in this thread, and they run roughly the same amount for a set of Koni Yellows with RCE Blacks. If they're any good, they could be well worth it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/D2-RACING-RS-36-WAY-ADJUSTABLE-COILOVERS-SUSPENSION-SUBARU-LEGACY-2010-2014-/322026083209 http://www.vexmotorsports.com/D2-RACING--RS-36-WAY-ADJUSTABLE-COILOVER--SUBARU-LEGACY-2010-2014-_p_20435.html http://i.imgur.com/vOqdHW6.png
  14. Thank you, that's exactly what I was looking to find out. Do you have a picture? I'd love to see how it sits.
  15. So, after some more research, factoring in some of the suggestions in response to my last post, learning a lot more from other sections of the forums (suspension etc), and looking through tons of rims, I think I've finally figured out what I want (hopefully). 95% sure I'm going to go with the XXR 557 in Black/Milled w/ Milled Lip. 18x8.5 et+35, paired with 245/40ZR18 (Leaning towards Conti ExtremeContact DWS06, seen a lot of good reviews online and here). http://i.imgur.com/joWNbMC.png Pretty reasonable price per rim considering the size, around $150, ($123 if I had the money to by them for the 4th of July sale lol). Considered going for 19x8.5, but the price jump for both rims and rubber is just too much for me. Willtheyfit.com shows additional poke of just under an inch (25.7 mm), and just slightly higher on the speedo reading (0.55%). It seems to be a rather uncommon wheel, only been able to find a few pictures of cars wearing them, and even less in the finish I want. Found a picture of them on a silver Civic and a dark grey R32, and I think they look pretty good. Considering I want a number of black accents on my silver car, I think they'll compliment nicely. http://i.imgur.com/c2Ne2gl.png http://i.imgur.com/L3CU9zn.png Should I have any fitment issues with 18x8.5 et35? Additionally, I will most likely go with the RCE Black lower springs in the future, and no lower than the Eibach Pro Kit, so 0.8"-1.0" drop at most. Will I still be clear in that case? Thanks for any and all advice.
  16. Had two positive encounters with two other Ice Silver Metallic 5th gens today: 1. Passed an ISM '13/'14 2.5i with som custom wheels on the highway, gave him a smile and a wave, and got a smile and a wave back. 2. Just parked at the grocery store next to another ISM 2.5i with a roof rack and a slight drop (or a lot of stuff in the trunk), and the owners were leaving the store as I was walking in and we exchanged "nice car"'s. Been a good day.
  17. Excited to watch this develop. Recently learned how rare these cars are, and they can look so slick when modified. +1
  18. Speaking of exhaust for the 3.6R, anybody feeling brave enough to give this item (http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/custom-ark-exhaust-lgt-houston-tx-253820.html) from the classifieds a try to see how it sounds? A bit pricey, but it seems like it should fit for us since it fits the GT.
  19. Took some nice shots tonight and found a cousin at one point. Can't wait to make my car more interesting to the eyes when money permits. http://i.imgur.com/otqGL1L.jpg http://i.imgur.com/dIocqLU.jpg http://i.imgur.com/tkMhAEX.jpg
  20. I actually already ordered up the ones I posted earlier this week, and I ordered the matching bushings as well. Isn't the 23 mm front one smaller than what comes on the 2012 3.6? I was under the impression it comes with a 24 mm front bar. Either way, if it doesn't fit, I got it at a pretty decent discount and could probably offload it somewhere else relatively easily as well. At least I'll have the rear in there in the meantime!
  21. I know I could eventually get mine looking like that, but it will be hugely cost-prohibitive for me.
  22. Haven't looked through every page of this thread to see if it's been posted before, but I ran across an instagram user by the name "iamacoolboy86" who has an absolutely beautiful JDM LGT, in SPW. His setup would be almost exactly what I would want my car to look like if the JDM parts fit. Check him out-> https://www.instagram.com/iamacoolboy86/
