What did you do to your 7th Gen Legacy today?
blusubado replied to caddygti16v's topic in Seventh Generation Legacy (2020 - )
nope, I've never had a problem. even with over a 1000lbs of concrete and chicken feed bags in the trunk and back seat -
I noticed the auto start/stop was staying off for a shorter and shorter period and after hearing you guys talk about how crappy they are I ended up just swapping it out with an antigravity battery. it drops a good 30-40lbs off of the front end. and is suppose to last 8+ years. but I wish I knew I could get reimbursed for the crappy one when it did it

WRX Rims on 2023 Touring XT
blusubado replied to jr2000's topic in Seventh Generation Legacy (2020 - )
slap a set of 245/45-18 on the wrx rims and you'll be all set. they have the same diameter -
yes I did 2 years there taking auto/diesel/industrial/BMW back in 2010-12. and I said more octane will not give more horsepower. so using e93 instead of e87 will not give you more power
-
I didnt Google crap, this is what's being taught at schools like UTI where i went to. you use the fuel that the manufacturer has tuned the engine for. so let's not be presumption as if you know me. lets stick to the facts of the subject and keep our opinions to ourselves
-
by no means will it give you more power in any way what so ever. you will lose a couple horsepower if anything. it burns at a different rate than your engine is tuned for. if you have a knock from using e87 then you might want to take it to the dealer for a tune up
-
well you'll lose performance by using anything other than the E87 fuel that the engine was tuned for. higher octane doesn't mean more power. it just means higher resistance to knock

ya I swapped the tires immediately to a set of potenza re-71r and swapped the rims to the lightest set I could find. if I had the money I would definitely change out the CVT for the 6 speed off the WRX. I'm still searching for a rear sway bar. as for the battery I swapped in a zero gravity battery to help drop weight in the front end. I didn't have a problem with the original other than the stop start didn't last long if I had the heated seats on. the new battery improved it a little.

22 legacy XT aftermarket parts list
blusubado replied to JohnsLegacyXT's topic in Seventh Generation Legacy (2020 - )
so I just got done talking to whiteline for a rear sway bar and they don't have anything yet. there isn't enough demand they said. so we need everyone in the forum to blow up there email with request. they did it in the outback forum and succeeded. -

you might have better luck if you move this question over to the 2nd gen legacy column. -

I thought about it but I wanted to drop as much weight in the rims as possible so it made sense to stay at 18s. I want to add air suspension in the front to drop it down so it doesn't have the squated look that it comes stock with. -

I finally got my set of Volk Racing CE28SL 18x9.5 5x114.3 +45mm Pressed Graphite! it only took more than a year. they're wrap in 245/45/18 Bridgstone Potenza RE-71R. -
I'm might be exaggerating a bit on the stock 22 legacy battery weight but it definitely weighed a crap load. I'll be keeping the car in a heated garage during the winter so I'm not too worried about that. I prefer a little more oversteer which is why I was more focused on the rear sway bar. I like to rotate the car a little to make it aim where I want to go.
-
ya these potenza's make a world of difference on the road. theres even less roll since the side walls have less squish. I will say that swapping the 60lb battery for a 16lb gravity battery made a noticeable difference on the front end. and swapping out the rims for a set of Volk CE28SL that only weight about 16lbs each made a huge difference as well. next will be the rear sway bar
-
you guys are funny. a car doesn't need to be modded to throw it around a corner. especially with the 7th gen being so stiff already. and a pure summer tire like the bridgestone potenza definitely make a world of difference...if you're like me and don't wanna slow down for any corners. and then once October hits they get swapped for a set of blizzaks since I live in maine. and since they're only used for 5 months, they'll last a good 3+ years.

I see that the 2022+ wrx has a few titanium options now but im not finding anything for the LEGACY/OUTBACK XT. Has anyone else had any luck?
