  1. Hot my second dose of the Moderna today (finally). Gave me an itchy throat and a headache, so I laid down and took a nap. Feel normal now, no big deal.

I’m scheduled for July 2nd. I’m not sure if it’s coincidence but I got a sore throat and was super congested, to the point of almost losing my voice, for a straight week after the first shot.

We’ll see what happens after the second shot.

I also had Covid 3 months ago.

  2. I was in Fort Lauderdale a couple weeks ago for a bachelor party. We arrived Thursday night, then that Friday CDC updates their mask guidance for indoor mask wearing for vaxxed people.

Was definitely a bit unusual seeing so many maskless people indoors, but was also a nice taste of return to normalcy. And Scarlett's was an A++ experience.

I also noticed a lot of Uber drivers there didn't wear seatbelts.

Baltimore City still has an indoor mask mandate, though Maryland has lifted the state level requirement. Some stores in the surrounding counties still require a mask, and stores that don't require still have a lot of people wearing masks.

Scarletts is a higher end strip joint. Tootsies is also good. I have not been at one in a few years. Florida is very YOLO about a lot of things. Up by me in West Palm Beach everyone wears their seatbelt. I’ve never had a Uber driver not wear their seatbelt.

  3. two things that still suck....

    1) Drive-Thru food places, most still have their dinning rooms closed so the drive thru lines are always very, very long. That's why I hardly go to them anymore. It's honestly quicker (and healthier) to just make something at home.

This is honestly stupid when you really think about it too, I can walk into a costco, buy toilet paper, walk into most stores, buy stuff, but I can't walk into friggin Arby's and order a sandwich :spin:

    2) The global semiconductor shortage...still no xbox series x, I keep hearing about these restocks at stores, but they're like unicorns; They don't really exist. Or do they?

    :iam:

Florida is wide open like a cheap whore.

It’s kind of strange that half the people are not wearing masks anymore. It feels a little normal actually.

  4. Millennial/newish homeowner thought - how did people learn how to do diy home repairs pre-youtube?

I don't even mean major renovations, just small stuff. Like a hose bib stem leak or sink handle cartridge leak.

Rely on a paid repairman? Tribal knowledge from friends/family/neighbors? Were hardcopy product manuals readily available? A book on common repairs and how-to steps?

The internet sure has a lot of garbage, but people that make basic diy videos have saved me so much money.

I can't fathom paying a plumber $100+ to come to my house just to spend a couple seconds tightening a packing nut to stop a leak.

We had relationships with the local hardware store clerks. You would go in and ask questions. Also that was always a buddy who would help. Worse case scenario just do it and hope for the best. Once you learned the right way you would pay it forward.

I’ve done many house projects without having all the instructions. It was always half the fun.

  5. This might not be the right place for this but...... Can anyone help me find the section about finding the correct ignition timing be on a 1955 Bel Air Chevrolet with a 327 cubic inch engine and a 4 barrel carburetor?

    Check the Vacation Pics!! :rtfm:

  6. My son is set for investment's. I started him before his 1 year old birthday, lol. That kid already has a nice portfolio. I can't sell the company now or I'm going to owe taxes. The company is saving us each year with the deduction's.

    Son Investment's

    -529 Plan for College.

    -Mutual Funds

    -ETFs Funds.

-Individual Stocks (Tesla, Disney, and Corsair)

Maybe I should do a Roth for him after I get the house paid off :icon_idea

    Can you adopt me?

  7. The 2 shot vaccine will cause side effects after the 2nd dose, and put you down for 1 - 2 days. The Johnson & Johnson is a 1 dose and it will make you mostly sleepy all day, less side effects.

Can you give us your research paper. KTHXBYE

  8. I got mild symptoms but did loose my sense of smell when I got Covid. I am curious to see how the vaccine affects me when I get it in two months.

Hopefully I het the 5Ge chip and the advanced GPS navigation feature as well as a free OneDrive lifetime subscription! :spin:
