  1. I agree with cww516 - some oil seeps go on for years without ever being a problem. My brother drives my old Toyota Celica that has has a main seal seep from when I bought it at ~140k miles. It's now above 250k miles and he parks on a cookie sheet to catch the occasional drip. He doesn't even have to add oil between changes.
  2. Another easy option is the stock height rear King Springs that you can order thru Primitive Racing in Oregon. I have tried spring inserts before and they don't really work and don't work well when they do. Just my 2 cents. Rear strut spacers would be another option, but I think the springs are better.
  3. That makes me feel a little bit better about what I'll get for mine with ~210k miles
  4. You didn't get the lower one to match it? You gotta match bro! and deflect those pebbles and bugs
  5. I gotta say that I agree though. My Crosstrek's CVT is the best automatic I've driven. That said, I would still want a stick for a fun fast car. The last few automatics I drove made me feel like I was constantly having an argument with the transmission computer about what to do. The trek just gives me the power I'm asking for with the pedal and changes the RPMs to get it as needed. The simulated shifts are dopey to me, but I guess the anti CVT crowd like them.
  6. Don't go to the dealership for service. I have had similar experiences. When I installed new struts, springs, and my 1" spacer lift, I took my car in to the dealer for an alignment. The service adviser told me that my struts were worn and needed to be replaced. That it would affect stopping distances and really needed to be done that day. I told him that he must not mean my car, and he said that he did. Then I told him that he must not have even looked because the struts and springs are the only clean parts on the car, clearly brand new. Then he claimed that it was based on mileage. It's not even funny or anything, it's just tiresome. Like when the salesmen comes up and tries to tell you that a brand new car is an investment or cheaper than your current car. I had one try to sell me a new Crosstrek when I visited recently. I literally drove up in my 2020 Crosstrek with ~3500 miles, but he can get me a good price on a 2019. Just avoid dealerships.
  7. You know what really makes the LGT feel fast? Driving a Crosstrek CVT for a month. Definitely had one of those "oops, I'm going 80" moments on the on ramp this morning.
  8. I currently have 245/45r18 on a 18x8 e38 wheel. No issues whatsoever. I even have 2013 3.6r springs installed in my '10. I would say you are good to go.
  9. Bump. Anyone want the Perrin TB hose? I'll give a good price, at this point I just want it gone.
  10. Injectors sold, plain shift knob added, price drop on the Perrin TB hose.
  11. Mods: Would you please correct my typo in the threat title? It's definitely a '10 LGT...
  12. Here are some additional pictures of the turbo: https://imgur.com/a/3Cg280a
  13. Sorry, I thought the post on here would be sufficient. Yes, it looks like you're first in line. The brace was made and sold by user RickGT. I bought it in a group buy. I believe it's the same design as the Cusco version. I'm not sure when I'm going to get around to remove it from the car, which is why I haven't officially listed it yet.
  14. PMs replied. I will uninstall and sell the master cylinder brace, but I haven't had time yet. I'll update when I get it off the car.
  15. All: I recently purchased a 2020 Crosstrek and am now preparing to sell my 2010 LGT. The following parts are for sale. Listed price is OBO and includes shipping to the lower 48. Will discount for local pickup and/or buying several items. I will have more to add later. Still Available: 5. Plain Steel Shift Knob from Ebay - $40 This one sits nice and low and is very heavy. I'll include a little black pouch that I was using to prevent it from burning my hand in the summer. It looks like it is the same as this listing:https://www.ebay.com/itm/SSCO-CUSTOM-BRUSHED-STEEL-BLOCK-700-GRAM-WEIGHTED-WRX-STI-SHIFT-KNOB-12x1-25mm/263981666986?hash=item3d768892aa:g:6EgAAOSwOLVc0ep5 Sold: 1. Billetworx shift knob - $ Sits a little higher than I had thought that it would, but the heavy feel is great. 2. Tomioka 20G hybrid turbo, no name turbo blanket, exhaust wrap and worm clamps - $ I bought the turbo from user mcg_ and never installed it. It was ported to reduce the chance of over boost. I bought the turbo blanket and exhaust wrap to install at the same time. I don't think that it would make sense to split those up. 3. ID1300X injectors - $ I purchased these used from user fabsx and never installed them. they come with the plug and play adapters. 4. Perrin Throttle Body Hose - $ Used for ~2 years with no issues. Does not come with T-clamps, but you can reuse your stock worm clamps. Upcoming: Brake master cylinder brace Strut tower bar Plain steel shift knob Pictures: https://imgur.com/a/ni7VWsz
  16. I received notification that my 2020 Crosstrek arrives Friday. I changed the oil in the LGT over the weekend and had a somber thought that is is the last time I'll be doing that. Not I have to figure out what parts I want to remove and sell and which ones to leave on the car.
  17. USDM didn't get the SI-drive, so I'm afraid I can't help you there. But I am curious: what is the marginal benefit of an electronic BoV? I Googled it, but I feel like all that I found was marketing BS.
  18. :lol:Saw this posted on another forum: https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=472879895&zip=27713&referrer=%2Fcars-for-sale%2Fsearchresults.xhtml%3Fzip%3D27713%26city%3DDurham%26listingTypes%3DUSED%26startYear%3D1981%26sortBy%3DderivedpriceDESC%26incremental%3Dall%26state%3DNC%26firstRecord%3D0%26marketExtension%3Don%26endYear%3D2010%26makeCodeList%3DSUB%26searchRadius%3D0&listingTypes=USED&startYear=1981&numRecords=25&firstRecord=0&endYear=2010&makeCodeList=SUB&searchRadius=0&makeCode1=SUB&modelCode1=B9TRIBECA&clickType=listing
  19. Yeah if it stops spinning the AC compressor during the summer here I'll get really heated. (sorry, not sorry) But I think that I read somewhere that on max AC it won't stop. My boss's F150 does that, so he made turning it off a habit on startup. I already downloaded the manuals and guides and have been working on becoming an expert before I even pick up the car. Also, the folks on the Crosstrek forum sure do spend a lot of energy worrying about the required 0w-20 oil and voiding their warranty.
  20. Yeah I made sure of that. I don't think I'll hate it, but it's hard to be sure. The auto stop-start is another unknown since I test drove a 2019. The trek will be more of an appliance to me, so I plan to strive to be more apathetic about that stuff than I have been about the LGT.
  21. I have come to the decision to buy a 2020 Crosstrek and sell the LGT. I'm preparing to order the Xtrek for pickup in January or February so now I'm starting to think about what I want to pull off of the LGT to sell. It has been a hard decision. I really like the LGT, but ultimately for me it is a compromise of capability, fun, fast, not too expensive, comfort, and professional looking. The safety of the Eyesight impressed me more than I thought it would, and the remote start with climate control via Starlink will be really nice when it's been parked in the sun all day. I won't miss black leather seats. I'll be interested to see if I miss the stick shift and passing power. The Crosstrek I test drove was certainly adequate but slow.
