Powder coater sent me an update on the Bremboi's. Should be picking them up next week. Decided to go with Candy Blue and bright silver logo's. I really like how the logo is actually powder coated on and not just a sticker or other.
Still waiting on a few parts to arrive before install but I'm itching to get this project done - honestly went way overkill but screw it. Going with Endless MX72 Plus pads F&R, Endless SS lines, Paragon 2-piece front rotors, Girodisc 2-piece rear rotors (couldn't find a manufacturer that makes a full 2-piece set) along with the STI BMC & booster. Hopefully should have everything delivered mid-November, so it can be installed right before it gets put away for the winter .
Oh and the tuning is 99% done. Just working on improving cold starts due to an exorcism of things that thou shall not be mentioned. Wagon rips though, still need to do a log to see how quick I can get to full boost.
Ooooweeeee who did you use? I have some brakes that need that kind of lovin

So many of these cars have been lost to time - crashes, rust, mechanical totaling, etc. I gotta wonder how many 200K cars are still out and about within our already small pool of cars!
I donāt think Iāve officially disclosed that mine is a part of the 200k club yet. Iāll post a pic today.

When I had an aem wideband on my Sti I remember seeing exactly what you are noticing. The aem would read richer than the ap because it would only read so rich and coming to a stop the aem would read leaner than the ap.Ā

Rainbow oil is normal for the first few changes lol.

That is the daytime running light module and itās extremely common for people to unplug it to disable the DRL. I donāt know off the top of my head what that orange wire is.
-
There are just so many variables here, different displacement, different intake, mechanical timing changes and a stock tune.Ā
-
Holy knock correction. At least itās at low rpm. whatās the IAM?
am I reading that correctly? IAM is 0.125??

Be careful, Iāve seen many including myself who ended up stuck at the ājust needs tunedā stage for years.Ā

Iāve been staring at the new filter in the passenger foot well for over a month. Long overdue. Drove another hour for work and an hour home, no repeat performance. Temps ranged from low 70ās at ignition to foggy and 60ās over a bay area bridge, then mid 80ās as I was spitting distance to Sonoma Speedway and into Napa. Chalking it up to old cabin filter, odd atmospheric conditions and running my heater for the first time in months last nite. Appreciate the prompt support.Ā
Thatāll do it brother. I notice it when the humidity is high or foggy. Condensation.

Just got to work after an aggressive 30+ min commute, pulling in to oark had smoke from the A/C vent. Temp gauge looks normal. No noticeable smoke in engine bay. Burnt compressor? Anyone wanna weigh in? Smoke was whiteish w little to no odor, fwiw.Ā
What was ambient temp and humidity?

No you can just pull it off the one thatās in the car. Subaru manufactures the car and the drivetrain but the sensors and computers and everything else are manufactured by other companies like denso, delco etc. even Mitsubishi, I can almost guarantee there is a Mitsubishi logo somewhere on your car and yes Subaru will mark up the hell out of it to sell it to you in a box or bag with a Subaru logo on it.

Genuine Densoā¦ just no Subaru packaging.
~$20 USD?
ĀNot saying you need to replace it but there are some things that get massive markups ābecause OE partā.
Beat me to it lol

Which head unit are you using? I also found an '07 centre console that has the aux port, and I have the post-facelift radio that has an aux function. I think you also have an '05 so it wouldn't have come with the SAT/AUX function.
I'm with you on the double DIN thing personally. Don't think it fits the feel of the car, but as you say, it's all personal. I also do not use a smart phone (no, I don't use a smart phone) so pretty much all of the functionality of a big moderm headunit is wasted on me.
I believe all I need to connect the two is some kind of custom wiring by @SVXdc? I just need to unlazy myself and pay for it. Or.... you meniton the OE iPod Adaptor? That would work for me as well. I still use a Sony mp3 player.
Bro how do you even look at pron without a smartphone?

Man youāre considering pulling the evaporator but you wonāt replace a $13 expansion valve? You shouldnāt have to remove the evap but you will need to remove the expansion valve to properly clean it with solventĀ

-
Is there an expansion valve Iām not seeing there?
-
Iām liking what Iām seeing here, but youāre going to need one more can of 134a. Are those oem o-rings and schrader valves? If so what did that run you? Iāve always just used the o-ring kits.

Mine looks this way, too. Check if your dashboard dimmer is at max?
Itās maxed. I have the same issue many others have had where the jdm controls always are dimmerĀ

Man why do your jdm controls seem reasonably brightĀ

Also to note, the power steering on these are pretty compact and Iāve never really seen the pump or reservoir impede on any āactivitiesā so any freed up space will be pretty minor.
-
To my knowledge this has never ever been done. If youāre willing to swing for the fences Iād say go for it but the path will probably be a total bitch with a heaping spoonful of disappointment. Grab yourself a 2015+ Sti rack and bolt it in. Much faster ratio and proven to work great. I got a used one for just under $400 in close to new condition.Ā
-
Possibly interested. Whatās the story on them? Brand? Guessing a direct swap to obxt. Pm meĀ
-
I did these for a kid at my work. It was my first time doing it and I actually thought it was kind of fun. I also drew inspiration from a conversation I had in the past with @Febreze Mee about his headlights. Iād definitely do it again, much less difficult than I worked it up to in my head.

A whiteline rsb was an absolute game changer for me. I would have done it right away if I knew how much safer the car felt.
