Give me more info and some pics, maybe even the AD for the car. (PM me) That's a lot of mileage but cars don't last that long unless you take care of them. Do you live in the rust belt?

There's a vacuum diagram under the hood. At least on the U.S models.

I don't think ANSI matters in China or Taiwan. IDK. I'm sure there are International standards. For 10$ more OEM Bearing Peace of mind. -

1- Koyo is OEM bearing and about 30$ each on ebay. Depending on the bearing you get I would match the grease color with a similar one. Brown= Mobile1 red= Lucas. 3- It raises the sensor so the whole thing is not sitting in the pipe and it's only reading about half the sensor. 6- Yes the rubber cracks and the bearing inside goes bad and causes binding when turning. The top of the front struts are in the engine bay and the rear ones are accessible through the truck if you shift the trim around. KYB is said to be 10% stiffer than OEM but I've never felt new OEM before. -

Rock auto if you want pics of different parts quickly. I use Car-part.com,Ebay,Rockauto and the local dealership to source most of my parts. 1- That's tricky cause' you might need to use several methods of removal to get it out because of rust and what not. 3- Read the code and if it is a p0420 buy a spark plug de-fouler and space the rear oxygen sensor. Mostly the after market cat is throwing the code. 4-Normal since the water will evaporate over time. Keep a eye on it. 6- KYB Struts and tops hats. Reuse spring and other hardware if they are not rusty. The legacy either has drums or single piston in the rear, only 2 options. Don't change your OEM calipers out for crappy rebuilt ones. -
Try car-part.com for snow flakes. A pick and pull in PA had a mountain of them.

What size wheels and tires? People claim KYB struts are stiffer than OEM but I've never felt fresh OEM. I'm very happy with my KYBs I put them on every car, even my Charger. -

Depends on how many beans you wana spend. 800$ would be cheap and 1200 gets you "okay". Static is cheaper. New struts and springs are less than 600$ together -
TylerHartman's 1999 Legacy GT Wagon 5SPD

I hate to love looking at these. They are all junk around here and would cost 15k to make one this nice. -
Subaru has been struggling with quality control as of late. They expanded really fast recently and it shows with all the recalls they have been issuing. Hopefully the new global platform and more Toyota technology helps alleviate most of their issues.

Steering Wheel Compatability
RumbleRumble replied to epicsockzebra's topic in Third Generation Legacy (1999 - 2004)
The newer ones will fit but the cruise control set is different because the newer ones use drive-by wire. Maybe some can correct but you can use almost any steering wheel, just the hand controls might not be plug and play. Car-part.com ANY 2000-2004 Legacy/Outback wheel will be plug and play fit from the L to L.L.Bean models -
MY18 FB25 Outback cold engine knock
RumbleRumble replied to Kario's topic in Sixth Generation Legacy (2015 -2019 )
I'd drain the oil. Rev the piss out of it. Pour the used oil back in and drive it to the dealer! In all seriousness my 01 has always sounds like that and most subarus I've listen to, but I'm only very familiar with the EJs really. -
Remote Start and Security Alarm going off
RumbleRumble replied to beeson76's topic in Sixth Generation Legacy (2015 -2019 )
My mom's Yota Camry has a aftermarket one that the P/O installed. Used to do the same thing until I ripped it out! I don't see a point in a remote start. Letting your car idle for long on cold starts is bad.
