  1. I dont need to argue this with you because it worked for you. You can have your cookie if you'd like, but one big difference is you are in a warmer climate where those in colder (boost loving) climates have issues. Im not comfortable just trying it out on my daily driver. This was advertised by them as a well designed product and others have had major boost issues. I think by allowing them all this time (over A YEAR at this point) we have been very respectful and this thread is a great place for us to vent to each other without attacking the vendor who is the only one who can help us at this point without everyone becoming guinea pigs. it would make it a lot easier to put this piece on knowing that they've done something other than to say we need to rotate it. I dont have a lift or a garage nor the money to have people put it on, tune it, lift it again, rotate it, tune it again, lift it again, etc... to see what works and what doesnt....but they do. Once I get my other daily driver up and running then I'd be willing to do things like that but I don't have that luxury. Its their business, its what they do, it should be easy for them to spare some time. /rant
  2. Two things about this 1 - people have installed it and have had issues. I own a 35K car, Im not going to "step up" to put a defective item on my car just to prove it doesnt work and end up with some kind of mechanical issue they arent going to cover 2 - they've already mentioned they dont want to be inundated with emails and want to work with an individual bottom line for me is that if they are invested in their customers they would have done more by now.
  3. From a retail perspective their customer service is terrible, theres no excuse for it. They have only so many designs and I cant see how a custom design would be forgotten. They're intentionally putting us off because they are trying to figure out how to fix it without losing money. Best case scenario for them is that we just drop it. (unlikely) Like Nossy said, their sob stories should be falling on dead ears because its about time they do something here. They got more than 15 grand in business from us, they should be able to invest some of that in time immediately. We're not talking about cars from the 50's rare, most of the cars produced are still on the road. If they just kept the conversation here we couldve found a way to get them what they need rather than replying to certain individuals at random times with various degrees of vague commitments.
  4. OK I still have a few more questions but i feel we're heading down the same path. I started a new thread with possibly even dumber questions to avoid jacking this thread, but this aspect of engine modification is all new to me and of recent interest. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/water-cooling-injection-methods-meth-256688.html
  5. To be honest I've been looking into the bosch water injection kits, Im sure they're ridiculously expensive but I'm really intrigued. Slight benefit in performance, reduction in gas usage, lower emissions, and less stress on the block.
  6. Yea I understand but a heat soaked IC is a heat soaked IC, reading the high temps is just a gauge to determine action.
  7. Agreed, I was just looking for a cheaper way to achieve some cooler temps although meth injection is pretty cheap if you can do the install yourself. i may look into that next year.
  8. I dont get into high boost but can easily see 1-4 pounds in traffic, admittedly I drive faster than other but not recklessly. Every little blip of hard throttle still pulls in that nasty warm air so i cant see why some water to cool down the IC wouldnt at least help. I agree its not some magic performance addition, just an added luxury/support.
  9. I should've put that 700 towards an avo tbe but I'm determined to make this one work
  10. Fischbach, do you have a windows tablet/laptop, or a Cobb AP? If you have any of those and the right OBDII connector you can run a log pretty easily. Once you get it plugged in its basically clicking to start and stop data collection. If you want, let me know what you have to work with and I can try and help fill in some blanks.
  11. I think if its your daily driver and you're in traffic on hot days a lot, the fan would be a nifty handy tool. I have had intak temps of over 130 sitting in traffic on a 90 degree day
  12. I can but not for a few weeks. Second week of October is my next free weekend
  13. Close enough, I'm in Cambridge, lemme know
  14. Nice ride man, another cambridge member, Im on the west side though, near alewife. I'll keep an eye out, hope to see you around
  15. Is the new wastegate pipe thicker and shorter? It definitely seems shorter as the connection point is much closer to the bung vs the outlet compared to the original.
  16. Water will find its way into just about anything. Even though the chances are small Im not risking getting my dry filter wet. When I removed my jug it was plenty dirty so Im not going to risk getting additional junk in there for the sake of a little sound and air.
  17. Not to jack your thread but I did the same thing early on and just to be extra careful I cut up an extra filter I had to fit to part of the jug and popped it back in http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160906/215b9a1d4e1b88d09d3af499d6365b60.jpg
  18. Luck you guys, I still owe about 19 on mine
  19. Shoot me a PM with your location and I can weigh them and get some quotes if you really want them. I can take them apart to save weight and scrap the rest.
