  1. That advice came from the Subaru Dealer, they said they have seen many a bent mounting bracket on older legacies/Imprezas that have that bar installed... I am pretty aggressive on the clover leafs due to serious lack of go power I take them at a higher speed so I can be up to speed when I merge..
  2. your choice... but read through the forums and there are a few who have... and I am not willing to take that risk....
  3. it goes over the bushing clamp. http://www.furiouscustoms.com/avo-rear-sway-bar-mount-reinforcement-08-impreza/ Do it with car on ground one side at a time with a jack supporting the rear differential career. remove old nuts on bracket and discard remove 17mm nut on body bushing and discard round plate install bracket with 17mm bolt you removed hand tight install new bolts with sleeves going between reinforcement and bushing bracket torque to spec..30flbs I believe tighten down 17mm nut repeat other side remove jack they are marked RH and LH you can do it without the jack but it makes it harder to install as the rear carrier will sag down on the side you are working on making it very hard to install the bushing bolts. no grease as the Subaru 20mm bar came with new bushings... oh I would just buy new end links cause the old ones are going to be a giant pita to remove from the old bar. edit: go straight to 20mm, do not stop at 19mm, it is more expensive and does not give the same results
  4. buy reinforcements for the mounting points. With the 20mm bar you will bend the stock mounting points if you use the twisty roads aggressively. I installed the AVD ones as you can see here: http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm273/anhyeuemmaimai/legacy%201.jpg
  5. are the newer ones LED bars instead of CCFL?
  6. I just test fitted mine to my 2014 and it was a very simple plug and play. at first the Subaru Dealer was not wanting to program it but once I told them I already test fitted it and they were like OK we'll do it. IMHO best upgrade you can do for cluster. I am skipping the menu keys as they are pretty much not needed in my case.
  7. It should function normally and as far as I know the trip a/b button works along with MPG selction
  8. how difficult would it be to add the steering wheel buttons on a 2014 2.5i after the cluster is installed??
  9. do you have water stains on your headliner? if not, leak may not be from sun roof. There should be 4 drains (one in each corner) make sure they are all obstruction free
  10. if Subaru's sold in other areas are any indication Eyesight may be standard equipment soon....
  11. the newer keys have a chip that identifies the key to the car. if the car has the key in it's internal memory, it will allow the car to start. If not, no crank, no start on most implementations...
  12. you cannot truly disable it. it is tied into everything including cruise control ABS. If you remove the module without updating the configuration of the car, other things that it is tied into may not work properly.
  13. nice job with the retrofit, now if we could just work on that parking skill of yours
  14. lol believe what you want... all cars flex and all cars have frozen water from melted snow or ice in them in sub freezing temps when the car moves you can hear the ice crack as the car flexes sounds almost like a snap. don't believe it? go fill up an ice tray and put it in your freezer and then flex it when the water has frozen.....and you will HEAR the ice cracking as it is flexed
  15. trust me it's there.... I routinely wipe my trunk of snow and ice and I do not hear cracking unless it has snowed and the run off goes into the water channel around the trunk. Same thing happens in the front I can hear the cracking of the ice.. every single car I have does it when it gets cold and runoff gets into certain areas and freezes.
  16. if this is a walk through, you're about 11ty billion words and pictures short
  17. if your dealer is difficult to work with tell them and then tell SOA if they do not clean up their act.
  18. the problem with installing HID kits is that there are very FEW that are DOT approved. Police officers can go as far as to tow your car for illegal lighting if they wanted to. The legal way to do it is to get the HID light housings from a 3.6R or other model with the HID light option.
  19. you could probably use the Subaru OEM software to turn the feature off...
  20. how many of you opted for extended warranty? I am betting now that some of you wish you did....
  21. creeping up on 26K, no issues, I will change the fluid at 36K
  22. I was in and out in less than an hour and no damage to my dashboard on my 03...
