  1. Samco Sport intake pipe p/n 40TB1683 and HKS Super Hybrid filter p/n 70017-AF001 installed today. Butt'o'meter says the car is a bit more responsive and pulls better around 2-3k.
  2. Front/rear strut braces conversion from Cusco to Beatrush by Laile is now complete. Front Cusco strut brace with integrated brake cylinder stopper was replaced with a Laile front brace and a standalone Laile brake cylinder stopper (Laile call it Direct Brake System). Before: After:
  3. Keep working on the suspension. Cusco pillowbal rear swaybar links 684 317 A Cusco rear swaybar lower bracket 684 316 A (HKS Kansai Services roll centre adjusters to be installed later) Stock brackets vs Cusco Rear set-up so far: Ohlins fixed perch struts Apexi springs Zero/Sports 21mm swaybar Zero/Sports swaybar bushes Cusco pillowbal rear swaybar links 684 317 A Cusco rear swaybar lower bracket 684 316 A Cusco rear swaybar mounts reinforcement brackets 684 316 B Didn't expect tons of difference but was pleasantly surprised with the outcome ( I know I always say so ). The butt feels even more solid, I guess the pillowball links made the biggest difference. Set rear struts at 2 and the fronts at 8 (0 being the hardest and 30 the softest).
  4. Spec.B honeycomb added to the collection of grilles
  5. Blitz Hybrid A/C filter Before/after: Not sure when the filter was replaced last time, I knew it was overdue just could not justify paying so much for original Subaru filter. All in all Blitz ended up being cheaper than if I went to buy one from a local stealership, about the same as getting one from Partsouq. To early to conclude, I've only had the system running for a bit today but there's no smell at all.
  6. New arrival from Japan  Beatrush by Laile 3.0R specific radiator cooling plate and Blitz hybrid A/C filter Originally I was looking at getting a Zero/Sports (had one in GT-B) or Cusco plate. Z/s looks seriously under-designed, especially for its price. Nearly ordered Cusco but then I discovered Beatrush: 3.0 specific, cheaper and I already knew that their quality is really good. Install pics, nothing extraordinary. Not sure if these plates actually do what manufacturers claim their should do (although makes some sense). I just like the way it look and how it tidies the front end of the engine bay.
  7. Latest updates: Ohlins fixed perch struts installed Apexi yellow springs installed RSB mounts Cusco reinforcement brackets installed Cusco rear strut brace replaced with Beatrush Laile (much better fitment) New grille added to the collection: Spec.B Honeycomb 91122AG100 installed Momo gear knob C1017AG030 installed Albero mufflers off, HKS ES Premiums on http://i.imgur.com/yllfxao.jpg
  8. As far as i know it's pretty hard to actually get a decent clip done. Have seen one on youtube, someone did a perfect job with a DSLR and a proper microphone.
  9. Have a look through this thread Part numbers you'll need: 25mm tribeca bar: 20401XA00A Forester Rear end links: 20470SA011 Tribeca sway bushings: 20414XA01A The links I have are some generic ones I bought from a local parts supplier. They don't really have a brand name on them but are of a very decent quality @$35 a pair. Run them on my old BH5 GT-B without any issues.
  10. I might one day, did you want to hear Liberals or HKS?
  11. BBS came from Japan on 215/35/18 Bridgestones - I reckon that's what was slowly killing the forged wheels, way too low profile.
  12. Been told the wheels were hand picked in Japan (original Japanese owner decided to go VIP style for his Legacy wagon - 20" alloys, air suspension etc). Kinda believe the story - the wheels are very conservative 95%, hardly any marks, all stickers are there. 07C are much "prettier" than 07J they were replaced with, imho, love the concave. Developed a few cracks ---> started leaking air .
  13. BBS crapped themselves, time for some new wheels. After considering a few options (including an idea of running 18x8 et38 which I'm glad I did not proceed with as it would have required a fair bit of rolling) I settled on a classy set of Prodrive GC-7C in British Gold, pretty much the same specs as the BBS: 18x7.5 ET48 forged and all that, will easily accommodate Brebmos shall I decide to got that route. These came from Japan wrapped in Potenza S001, I'll keep less than a year old set of RE002's as a spare.
  14. I know, I know... : I'm actually thinking the opposite - but that's probably more about personal preferences or a desired look one would aim for. A few "recessed" Corazon/ZS grilles on CS and I wouldn't say I like them that much but they do suit those cars, i.e more sportier look. BUT.. I now have a Zero/Sports carbon grille Still haven't decided whether I like it or not, the other one definitely looks classier.
  15. Cusco is $99 to my door via 41, I can probably try to get it a bit cheaper. AVO would set me back 150-160 at least. Doubt any workshop would do it for less than $50, unless you have some connections and I don't.
  16. Had a productive Sunday evening: Tribeca Front swaybar 20401XA00A Tribeca swaybar bushes 20414XA01A x2 Adjustable swaybar links New headers gaskets (just because I was there ) 44011AG040 Mid section donut gasket 44011AE031 Mid section new bolts/springs/nuts (much easier to deal with now, old ones got a bit rusty and rounded) 44059AA010, 44044AA010, 902350004 Throttle body gasket 16175AA310 All up took me about two hours, the whole process was pretty cruisy. Gave the new swaybar a few coats of satin black to make it look a bit more presentable. The car feels so much firmer after both swaybars were installed, am pretty happy with the outcome. Now I just need to get some reinforcement brackets for the rear mounts before I snap them, considering getting a set of Cusco brackets as I just cannot justify paying $100 + shipping to NZ for AVO stuff. Old sway undone, headers "dropped", ready to go out Tribeca vs Legacy Tribeca bar installed New adjustable links
  17. And yet another update (was meant to be before the Z/S but I just got carried away ) I now have my very own roofbox. Perfect timing - got it just before, well actually midway, to the mountains to do some hiking. It is a Prorack Cargo Box 10 - perfect size for a sedan and perfect match with Prorack S bars. Don't have to "steal" my dad's roof box anymore.
  18. I am expecting more hate than love ES Premiums are still there and not going anywhere (well one set at least, I have two to play with )
  19. Zero/Sports rear swaybar is installed. Rear brake pads were replaced too since the wheels were off and the pads were due anyway. You can also see my Ugly Betties aka Liberal Albero Euro quads :o They really grow on me, especially the sound they produce. Everything set up and ready to go Stock out, 17 vs 21 Z/S in Adjustable links I had on my GT-B are a perfect fit, bought another set of these to go with the Tribeca bar which arrives tomorrow Everything back together, brake pads replaced Feedback: no more wobbly tail, much more responsive. Cannot wait to install the front - hopefully these latest mods will bring me a touch closer to the way the old GT-B handled.
  20. Just check the metal plate with all the codes to know exactly what rev yours is, mine is D. Silly but I thought pre-face Legacies were not twin-scroll... should do some research but then I don't own one
