  1. I now have my TiAL 38mm wastegate, Hallman Pro RX MBC, and Grimmspeed EBCS. Just need the EWG header and few gaskets
  2. This is the same boat I was in which is why I stayed stock CBE for so long. I have to say I'm really pleased with the Borla though. It's pretty mellow (I do have a resonator as well) and it doesn't bark much even when you stomp on it - just a nice exhaust note, IMHO.
  3. Agree. More dense air = potentially greater pressure but the controller doesn't care whether the boost is due to air density or air volume being compressed. It just has a setpoint at which it will open.
  4. Nope, I hadn't come across those. Maybe these would have HID projectors then. FWIW, I didn't pay what they are currently selling at. Came across a pretty decent deal about a year ago and snagged them for a bit under $500.
  5. I bought mine form Auto Parts Warehouse and if you look at the specifications, it indicates the light source is 'halogen' and the assembly also came with the halogen bulbs installed. http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sku/Anzo/Headlight/A1R111285.html?intcmpid=Product%20Listings%20Clearance
  6. Not the best pic but it was one that I had on hand:
  7. No, he didn't. In fact, he said this is the setup he recommends most highly for those who want/need precise boost control and that it is what he runs on his own Legacy. I guess I don't understand how temperature could have any effect on a manual boost controller. The controller is just staying closed until the spring cracking pressure is reached, then it opens up. Since the spring cracking pressure won't be influenced by temperature (within the range of temperatures it's going to see in real-world use) or atmospheric pressure, the boost setting shouldn't change either.
  8. Talked to my tuner a little more and he recommended a hybrid setup with both MBC and EBCS. MBC will control peak boost while the EBCS allows for boost taper at upper RPM and boost cut in case of knock as shown:
  9. Same here. This definitely is not how mine operated.
  10. ^ Good point - I was assuming a manual trans....
  11. Your high beams are still turning on though (reduced) but the U-bars aren't lighting up? That's strange...
  12. How did you check the DRL function? If you are parked with the E-brake set, they will not turn on.
  13. I'll have to do more research on this as I really don't like the flutter sound at all.
  14. That's what I was expecting to hear. So I will likely be selling the EBCS I just bought from jojorios and picking up an MBS instead. There are a crapload out there - any recommendation on something you've had good luck with or something to avoid?
  15. Continuing down the path of part procurement, I've noticed that a lot of EWG setups with EBCS have a fluttery sound due to the cycling of the boost solenoid. One way to eliminate this is by using a manual boost controller. Is anyone else running EWG with an EBCS that does not experience the fluttering or is this inherent in that configuration?
  16. It begins - just ordered the EBCS from jojorios. I'm checking with a couple shops around here on the possibility of fabbing up something custom or modifying the stock headers. Also may move on SomeZero's header depending on what I come up with here. I keep thinking about the stock setup and the ETS option - wouldn't it be possible to have two tubes welded to the stocker just like ETS? I haven't looked at it in any detail so I might be missing something but the concept seems possible....
  17. You mean you will be selling your header? Let me know if this is happening. Enabling must continue!
  18. Thanks! Is this BCS also plug n play with our stock wire harness?
  19. Thinking I would be ordering something like the following (thanks to jojorios for compiling this original list): OEM Replacement Parts: 2 GASKET-EXHAUST MANIFOLD 14038AA000 1 GASKET-EXHAUST TURBO OUTLET 44616AA150 Couple Of Extra: STUD-10X44X12 800910580 BOLT-10X35X26 800110620 SELF LOCKING NUT 902350001 FLANGE NUT 902370010 EWG Header (Exact Version TBD) (Qty TBD based on Header) - Tial MV-S 38mm wastegate Mazdaspeed3 BCS 771750 Am I missing anything or screwing anything up?
  20. For those with an EWG, what wastegate and BCS are you running?
  21. In looking at the Six Star setup, I'm not sure that I like how quickly the runners join up. The ETS looks like our stock header but with plumbing for the dual wastegates. It makes me wonder if someone who was good with custom exhaust could tie into the stock header?
  22. Any more info on the Six Star option? Haven't come across that yet.
