  1. Picking Rocket (my lgt) up today!!! Tuning on Monday to unlock a few more ponies hopefully with the Dom 1.5xtr! I'll post dyno pics.
  2. I've never been but I do have a close friend who opened his brewery in Woodstock (Reformation Brewery) that would be cool for a meet sometime if you guys are interested. I'll have to check that world of beer place out.
  3. I'm sure we can find a good spot for everyone. My tune is set for a week from Monday for my Dom 1.5 swap. I decided to go with Joel at QED tuning and their heartbreaker (but super accurate) dyno.
  4. I'm willing to drive or making a trek to have a good spot! I'm frequently in the Smyrna/Marietta/Kennesaw/Midtown areas.
  5. So... How about an ACTUAL LGT GA meet sometime next year? I'd love to get some photos and videos of everyone's cars.
  6. 12/16/14 Update: Turbo was bad which it's looking like was the culprit of my boost and oil problems so in goes a Blouch Dom 1.5xtr (8cm compressor) as well as a new Mishimoto radiator, rebuilt clutch by Clutch Specialty Auto (great experience!), OEM timing belt kit w/ thermostat, and miscellaneous gaskets (valve cover, oil pan, ect). Hoping to get a break-in tune and picking up the car by week's end! The tune goal is to have two maps: 1. Daily Driver map w/ around 380whp/380tq 2. FUN MAP w/ just under Peak whp & wtq whatever that ends up being. Joel at QED tuning will be doing both tunes on the car. His dyno is already at Allpro and I've heard he's just as meticulous as Doug (formerly the tuner from TopSpeed). I'll keep y'all updated http://i1261.photobucket.com/albums/ii596/Benfrancis91/20141216_172757_HDR.jpg http://i1261.photobucket.com/albums/ii596/Benfrancis91/20141216_172808_HDR.jpg http://i1261.photobucket.com/albums/ii596/Benfrancis91/20141216_171745_HDR.jpg http://i1261.photobucket.com/albums/ii596/Benfrancis91/20141216_171136_HDR.jpg
  7. I'm borrowing my sister's sorority-mobile also while my car is at AllPro. I got my clutch rebuilt at Clutch Specialty Auto and they're recommended by TopSpeed and AllPro. A rebuild on my ACT clutch with an upgraded ceramic clutch material (holds power better and engages better) was sub $200. The plus side with my turbo being bad is that the full block doesn't have to come apart so there's upwards of $900 I can save on labor and another $whoknows how much in machine shop costs.
  8. So it looks like I have demolished my blouch 20gxt turbo and that was causing most of my issues. That being said, I have already ordered a dom 1.5 turbo which is rated at More power which will be exciting. It's been an expensive month but I can't wait to see what my car will dyno at once the break in tune is over.
  9. Definitely join WRXATLANTA and feel free to come out to our meets. Sunday we're hosting a Dyno day at TopSpeed Motorsports and there's a meet Sat night @ The Cheesecake Factory @ Perimeter Mall. I feel like the local liaison to wrxatl. I feel like I've all done recently is buy parts.. I've gotten so far for this build: OEM gasket kit EJ257 OEM timing belt kit w/ thermostat and gasket (difficult to find for a good price when avoiding the dealership prices) new 11mm oil pump Mishimoto race radiator new NGK plugs piston rings/bearings are coming soon and I am most likely going with a lightweight crank pulley also. Oh, and I'll be getting tires soon..
  10. There aren't really any shops that I know of that specialize in subaru stuff. MrTris: I've only seen about two legacies (only one modded) in or around Valdosta. I am still pushing for a meet with a strong Legacy presence. Maybe next Import Alliance?
  11. I will single-handedly revive this thread from the dead! Onto an update on my leggie. I dropped it off at AllPro this weekend to begin the teardown for a motor rebuild. Luckily I have some vendor friends who helped a ton on the parts side. I am debating on the benefits of going for MOAR power with head work. I need to get some quotes about port and polish and a bowl bend on the heads and then I can decide. In the meantime, I'll try to swing by the shop at least twice with updates. I can't wait to have high boost back again!
  12. I'm looking at a huge bill for a motor rebuild on my beast. Low-ish compression across all cylinders + 60k on a race block + burning oil = big bill for me. With that being said, I'll drop it off late this month and take the heads to get reworked and hopefully unlock MOAR power! Hopefully my wife & wallet will be okay with this..
  13. I helped Dana do the install so im not sure what his actual labor rate would be. He told me last night he's not trying to rip anyone off, he genuinely likes doing the retrofits. Id just talk to him about what the install would look like.
  14. Finished product! My camera struggles with the brightness of the halos but they look incredible! All credit goes to Dana Palmer and his retrofitting mad-genius ways. I am stoked to be a part of the Touge Fighter family now. If anyone wants to retrofit their lights then hit me up and I'll get you connected! http://i.imgur.com/sSdaxPq.jpg http://i.imgur.com/yKyTMqL.jpg http://i.imgur.com/V6Kbol1.jpg
  15. I have been lucky to not have the cable problem! I have no idea whether SoK would look at it. I think at the very least it'd be a diag. I no longer work at SoK but one of my best friends is a service advisor if you want to give him a shout I can give you his info.
  16. So a little update on my Legacy... Dana and I did the retrofit/hid kit/ and halos on my car a week ago and I think it makes the legacy look much nicer. The last thing to do is to wire the halos into the parking lights. I also purchased led switchback lights for the turn signals and I think they look pretty cool overall. Next up is to gather as many parts as possible for the motor rebuild. Don't be surprised if I post on here asking to rent a car! Parts list: The Retrofit Source retro quick kit for the legacy Morimoto upgraded projectors (surprisingly easy swap) Morimoto ballasts Morimoto 6k bulbs 8mm led halos Diode Dynamics LED Switchback turn signal bulbs w/ CF18 flasher module The retrofit took quite a while but a majority of that time spent was paint-related. Overall, I love the kit I got from TRS and cannot wait to see how the halos, HIDs, and switchbacks look all together. https://scontent-b-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/hvideo-xap1/v/t42.1790-2/10675060_3212194740011_1958811376_n.mp4?oh=f07e44da404568f3b6bfe5de4e98c6c2&oe=54491ED5 http://i.imgur.com/q29Kusv.jpg http://i.imgur.com/nYNRMim.jpg http://i.imgur.com/nRkharH.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ofUiDPn.jpg http://i.imgur.com/iJ92ZW4.jpg http://i.imgur.com/WvEHc5I.jpg
  17. I went with 80mm halos for mine and they fit perfectly.
  18. I want to lay some deadening stuff down also. I don't have any experience thus far. Btw: I'll do a writeup on the headlight retrofit once I have the halos wired. Blacked out headlights + 6k HIDs looks killer on the LGT!
  19. I am working with a friend of mine, so I have no idea about the paint. What I mean by maxed out is essentially every option: retro quick, morimoto ballasts, 6k bulbs, and the HID relay, with halos.
  20. I am doing the maxed out version of that kit with halos. I'll try to remember to make a writeup of it. My buddy Dana (Sparta on WRXATL) runs Touge Fighter and they're a TRS vendor so hit him up if you have questions or want an invoice to explore.
  21. I've been a bit quiet on here also so here's what's up with my ride... I am doing a full HID retrofit next week (projectors, bulbs, ballasts, halos, and a blackout) I'll post pics when I'm done. I will be rebuilding my motor later this year (it's about time for the race block) & I'll be doing a fairly heavy clutch while I'm there. Other than that, I am getting ready for TogueFest @ the Tail of the Dragon in a couple weeks. What's everyone else doing to their rides as of recent?
  22. Then take it to magnum and get it done right the first time!
  23. Subaru of Kennesaw doesn't do body work. They use Magnum Auto Collision on Cobb Pkwy. Abra is another one they use but they're not very good. Magnum is excellent but pricey. (I used to work at Subaru of Kennesaw)
