  1. The nice thing about adding a tire stem or air line fitting is that you don't have to pump the dang thing, so it's no big deal to just twist the release valve open and release the pressure to stop the flow.

A clear filter would be a nice addition and take care of both filtration and visibility. I wonder what the flow rate would be though something like this:

  2. Alright, so I went and found my old oil pickup, and it had an o ring, not that gasket on it. So after digging around, I think #10 is for the oil separator drain back into the pan. #19 in this picture from the service manual.

So does that mean #9 is for the pick up? and #26 is for the oil fill tube? Someone else take a look at this as I've gone cross-eyed.

  3. Ok, so I'm confident about it now, but for clarity, some edits:

item #5: 806932030 goes in between the block halves and between the block and oil pump

item #10: 11122AA000 This goes on the oil pan for the oil separator drain back into the pan

item #3 - between the cases and between the block and oil pump

    .

item #10 - goes on the oil pan for the oil separator drain back into the pan

    Left #3, Right #10

  4. Great writeup!

3.This picture shows what was discussed in the last picture which is leaks at the intercooler to end take mounting area. These "fingers" can start to fold up over time because of age or being ran at higher boost levels and cause the end tank to separate from the core. If you look closely you can see where oil is escaping in the boost vapor and actually causing a spot where the intercooler is leaking. This is a common issue with this models intercooler.

BarManBean's BP Kit does a great job of preventing this. If anyone's interested, check the link in his sig.

    7. This next pic was used from a google search as I couldn't find a good lighting pic to demonstrate its location best. This is conneted right near the center of the rear of the intake manifold right under the top mounted intercooler. Its very hard to get to with the intercooler in place but is well known for popping off and causing people hassles. This can be ziptied or replaced with a barbed T fitting *one is supplied by a forum vendor turkeylord*.

  5. Is it to late to get on the buy list? I am looking for aftermarket top mount intercooler and omg I freaked out when I saw that Grimspeed was making one for the Legacy GT! I was going to try to rig a Process West one, but not anymore!
