Anyone ever come across a pattern replica for our front brake dust sheilds? I am striking out.

I'm good to pay OE prices when it matters, but seriously? $60 USD for a little slip of stamped metal.... I mean.. C'mon...

I suppose I could look at other models that have the same knuckles (which I am likely to replace with some Dorman units, becuase half the price.... Or maybe freshen up some scrapyard parts.) but I guess only GTs would have sheilds large enough to accomodate our relatively large rotors...

    Ugh.

What about 2004 WRX STi? It has 5x100 pattern and the rotors have to be at least as big, most likely bigger.

Discovered I need some kind of 'gutter' above the doors of my car.  The weather was misty and the water beads really built up.  When I opened the door and stepped one leg in, all the water above broke loose and ran onto my pants and seat. I probably had a quarter cup of water spilled in various places.  Good thing I was going home...  This car is very 'drippy' in general, it seems.  Door surrounds drip onto seats, trunk lid lower trim collects water and drips onto whatever is in the trunk when I open it up.

Sedan (and wagon) version available here:

They should have been available domestically.

    Yes.... but yowza!

You guys and your bags full on money. ;)

Ima spend that $800 CAD on some pipe, + fresh argon bottle and make one myself...

With the remaining $650 I'll get some proper Champagne and caviar to celebrate the install.

Then I'll go burn 3 tanks of fuel just because I can. 🤪

Wow, I didn’t realize the exchange rate is 4:1!

@DoctorDaveLGT the bulbs are halogens and came with the fogs( not sure what they are but def’ not bright like an LED-I like the old school look.I would have opted for halogens anyways but looking forward to your pics-thanks)

Aaaamd I thought I could remove the Prova mirror overlay from a donor rear view mirror. I wanted to keep my original rear view mirror mount and not switch to a whole new unit. Even with a blow dryer to heat the adhesive and a trim tool slowly working its way behind it “pop” and were done. (The edges are easy to come off-it’s the giant middle Prova adhesive piece that did me in). So mad at myself-should have installed the whole thing-ah well, next time. Boo.

if you come across a Prova mirror and it’s attached to a unit-remember this pic. Don’t try and remove it please.

You probably don’t want to know that the Prova mirror doesn’t perfectly fit the USDM rear view mirror (at least on mine). Also if you have the STi “carbon fiber” cover it will only fit the JDM mirror.

Engine is all set minus the powered coated bits. It's a good time to install some random bits as spring cleaning takes over the garage. ( like the grampus winkers , I've been hoarding parts for years to put into one project. I had an 08' 5eat for over 10 years and would shelve parts for this future car.)

Well… I did something not to my Legacy, which means the Legacy will soon be up for sale. I still have a couple mechanical things I want to do before I put it up.

The wife and I agreed that we could add a car payment back into our finances, so I just picked up a “used” ‘23 GR Corolla with 270 miles. This car has been a dream car of mine since before it was officially announced. No good pictures yet because it’s been rainy yesterday and today.

I’ll be sad to see my wagon go, but I hope I can pass it on to a fellow enthusiast.

Any idea why the PO sold it so quickly? I am the second owner of a 2020 Tacoma with a similar story that I bought in July 2020 with 351 miles. The dealership said they traded it in on a Supra.

    My turn...

My custom mufflers have finally been installed! They're loud but also subtle. I actually hated the look of them at first but it grew on me once I took my hitch off and learned to appreciate the offset tips. I think I'm going to end up adding a resonator, as much as I wanted to avoid cutting in to my Cobb exhaust I think it's just a little too droney for me. I'll decide for sure when I get the rest of the interior installed.

Edit: I have no clue why they uploaded sideways/upside down

I was going to ask why you flipped your car over for pics. 😜

I am scheduled for 2-13-20 to drive a 100 miles drop off my wheels and get a set of Michelin Pilot PS2  225-45-17 installed on my SSR GT7  7.5x17 -50 offset, then I drop off the LGT to have the windows tinted. Think I will go with a 50% tint. Walk across the street to a doctors appointment. Walk back and pick up the car, then the tires and wheels and then a 100 mile return trip home. Then I will post some photos of the results.

The wheels and tires are not going on the car until springtime in the mountains as the tires are a summer only tire and I don't want to mess up the newly refinished wheels.

Are you telling us about something that happened almost 4 years ago and if so how did it go? Or, are you talking about next Tuesday?

@shralp Yep that's pretty much it. It's a little tight getting to the bottom screws in the back but not terrible. Two harnesses to disconnect and that's it.

I also didn't do this myself but the S402 exhaust tips got installed on the Q300 mufflers today. Feels a little sacrilegious to chop up those mufflers but I am LOVING the end result.

    Looks great!

I’m sure you already know this, but the garnish that comes with those tails maintains the line across the back.

I have the same JDM rear garnish as you but I’m running Valenti’s that don’t have any thing that matches with OEM. I did squirrel away a set of the tails that you have with this other garnish though.
