  1. Well the transmission (or rather TCU) has just been completely ruled out... I just met up with stibbutt and went for a drive in his 5MT legacy - he has EXACTLY the same issue. He had local tuner do his tune (unsure what 'stage'), but no DP (doh) just a k&n panel filter. His stumble is more abrupt and also happens around the 5,000rpm mark. According to his tuner a fuel cut to protect the turbo? As a separate issue his IAM is at about 0.375 too (all other LV figures are fine) Told him to try 98 octane (95-ish USA equivalent) which he's done just short of 100 miles on and no change. My IAM sits at 1.0 quite happily, all other LV fine too. Gotta be a tuning parameter somewhere I'm sure.
  2. Not had time to log yet, however did notice Drive vs Tiptronic made no difference when I tested it up a hill on way home from work tonight, thrashed it in D and it stumbled yet again. Also tested in 'I'ntelligent mode but ran out of road lol. What a waste of a mode I is. S or S# only!
  3. Not just donating towards the site - donating towards individual members for helpful advice. Happy to donate to the site, but without the people this site (and any forum for that matter) = nothing.
  4. Thanks Dave much appreciated. I'll do several variations of logs tonight and see how I go. I loaned my tactrix cable to a mate for the past few months (you did his tune, as I referred him onto you) and have just got it back. I'll test with it in Drive and also manually changing in tiptronic Interesting, thanks for this. I'll do some more testing in D vs Tiptronic tonight.
  5. I'm not sure whats more stupid,... the seatbelt chime in the first place or me putting up with the annoying noise for the past 9 months for whats less than a 30 second fix... gah
  6. There should be some sorta "member donation" button on this site, so people can flick some people a few bucks to say thanks for their help - especially around reading and diagnosing peoples logs - it can be bloody costly through a mechanic. I'm sure gurus would be even more willing to help. God knows I owe a number of people on this site a few beers to say thanks. I get public forums are created for this very reason and there are some generous people around helping effectively complete strangers out, but reading some of these posts though, I get the gut feeling some of the guru's here must get frustrated at seeing the same shit turn up time after time... I got issues with my car at the moment but feel too rude to ask for help trawling through LV and log results time and time again without some sort of kick back for the help. Regardless, big kudos to iNVAR and similar guys for helping out. Blurt over.
  7. I'm still having issues with this. In 3rd or 4th gear, around 5000rpm's, stumbles (or feels more like a complete cut out) for a split second. Interestingly if I floor it in 'D'rive then it doesn't seem to do it (because when it shifts into 3rd, revs are at about 5,200). However if I put it in tiptronic and change gears manually from 2nd to 3rd (before hitting max rev's in 2nd, so when changing into 3rd, revs are about 4,800) it will stumble for a split second at around 5,000rpm's. It wouldn't be a boost cut limit on the ECU that would be causing it would it? I took it to the mechanic, he basically said because it could be a number of things he didn't want to know. I asked if he could check all the basics but basically got the cold shoulder... all I want is someone to do is a boost leak test, smoke test, check MAF, check O2 sensors etc. I don't have time to muck around with this,... time to change mechanics I think...
  8. Unfortunately altering the intake to stop it 'collapsing' did not resolve the issue. I took it for another test run and again, almost exactly at 5,000rpm's in both 3rd and 4th it stumbled for a split second (even though its very short, it really feels bad and I hate to keep doing this to test it). Interestingly though, LV does now show 2 x CEL's, a P0102 (MAF Sensor Low Input) and a P0113 (IAT Sensor High Input). Should I be cleaning the MAF sensor? Any ideas? Thanks.
  9. ouch. I cut the rubber pipe last night and put in a piece of PVC piping the same diameter then taped it up and went for a drive. On first tests, it appears to have fixed the issue. Obviously I don't want this to be a permanant solution, so what after-market pipes are available to fit here? Thanks
  10. Actually the more I think about this, the more sense it makes. I was chatting about this to another guy who used to have a Nissan skyline and he was saying its exactly what happened to him. He cut the intake hose in half, put an aluminium sleeve inside and clamped it back together and never had a problem since. I went down and popped the bonnet and squeezed the pipe, I'd come back from lunch an hour prior - yet the pipe was still soft and squeezed together pretty easily. I'll try this in the next few days and report back. Thanks for the heads up Dave!
  11. Thanks Dave. After clearing the TCU code, went for another test run and again - it happened. Its most noticeable up hills - flooring in 2nd then into 3rd, about 4900 rpms this time. Didn't think about the intake side but does make complete sense - I'll check it out and see if there is anything obvious, thanks.
  12. TYPE OF STUTTER/STUMBLE Steady throttle/Increasing throttle/Both: Pretty much at or just around 5,000 RPM exactly, at WOT, never happened outside this range and only happens in 3rd and 4th (its 5EAT) - but then not always (if it happens in 1st and 2nd, I don't feel it) Generally can reproduce it if I floor it from 1st and take it right up the rev range through all gears. Hit about 5,000rpm's in 3rd and its like someone's turned off the fuel line for a split second. Its an '07 LGT 5EAT MODS Intake: none Exhaust: Catted DP Fuel: 98 Octane (about US 95 equivalent) Turbo: Stock (VF44 I think) Engine Management: Stock ECU Tuner and revision of tune(if you don't mind): Cryo, stage 2. Final revision. MAINTENANCE Sensors changed: Changed O2 sensor Plugs changed: 10,000km's ago Coil Packs changed: Not tried OTHER SYMPTOMS Check Engine Light: Never Etc: Car runs perfectly otherwise RESULTS What has and hasn't worked for you: O2 sensor replaced. That *seemed* to work for a while, but then came back straight after flashing an ECU revision. May have been coincidence. Reverting the revision did not sort it (although possibly cooked the O2 sensor again? Unlikely?) Its in getting a service right now and the auto electrician just rang said that their diagnostic tool showed a error code on the TCU - he reset it, in-case it caused an issue. Unsure what the error was, but I'll try driving again when I pick it up. I'm not confident that it will resolve though.
  13. Yeah I RTFM, it just won't work with CANBUS so I just went out and bought a Tactrix cable instead More $$$ but zero hassles!
  14. You yanks sure like your sticky up'y roof racks. Where are the more stealth slim and trim versions???!!!
  15. Sorry I still haven't got my O2 sensor replaced yet Dave, will be in touch once I get my A into G and get this tune finalised... cars sucking fuel like nobody's business at the moment!

  20. Test flash is one of the options on the toolbar, just click "test write" icon and let it run, if ok click the red icon to flash it, then turn ignition off, turn on, wait 10 seconds and start car up

  23. Well you have my details so if you're ever down here, gimme a bell and I'll take time off work and show you around!
  24. I wouldn't mind chiming in here and asking similar to above, although looking at eibach pro kit with stock struts on a 4th gen LGT wagon, only want subtle drop, say around 1", to give a bit better handling and stance but comfortable enough as a DD and ok to tow with without dumping the arse. Would eibach suit? Anything else better/more cost effective? Also, what part number for eibach pro kit for '07 LGT, I can only find info for the 2010 model and up. Thanks
