  1. Is that the job where some of the actuators are no longer available new? On topic, my driver's seat is slowing turning to garbage. My sweet wife even went as far to end up talking to SBT on a local Facebook group trying to find a replacement lol! Anyway I've got two ideas to remedy this: - Junkyard - could I remove just the bottom cover of the seat or are they pretty inseparable? - Copart to get an entire black interior. I'm sure this would end up being way more difficult logistically than simply "buying a crashed car." Does anyone have any experience with that? I might be able to do it through a shop, as it sounds like regular Joe's can't just sign up and bid.
  2. Switch the ocv solenoids between sides, see if the code follows. P0011 and p0021 are nothing to mess around with. Can be a precursor to an oil pressure problem or blockage.
  3. A right of passage we were all so lucky to endure.
  4. Thanks! Brayson R front lip for 05-07, wheels are OZ Leggera HLT 17x8.
  5. Mike is who charged me for the change to catted. He even sold me the new downpipe. I had told him you sent me.
  6. Ah sorry. Did such a thread used to exist? I wonder if some of the resident importers might have something a little more concise.
  7. Have you driven it or only jack stand bleeding? I installed a new rack recently and it felt like the bleeding process took forever while on jacks. It all worked itself out after driving a few days and keeping an eye on the fluid level.

  9. Low power steering fluid? Is alignment verified as within spec? At first read I don't think the new parts are to blame, but I'm not very smart. See if you can narrow down where the sound is coming from. Left/right side etc. I'm thinking something like steering pump or rack or low fluid or dirty old fluid is the ultimate culprit, but try to rule out the easy tests.
  10. You're talking about the avcs gears, right? I don't think they're supposed to be serviceable. People have definitely opened them and cleaned them, and there are write ups and videos. The problem is there's a flower shaped gasket that isn't sold. So if you break it (270k and 17 years old, btw) you're stuck buying used (gamble) or new.
  11. Intriguing shape of the flares. It's your car so if you hate it less then that's a step in the right direction. The paint looks well executed but I don't think it's doing the car or the wheels any favors from a design congruency perspective. It took me a minute to realize that was the finished product and not just the bondo step. Post up a rear 3/4 shot, people on here always like various flares!
  12. A tune will definitely be needed. Aftermarket downpipe is a huge difference in flow from the stock one. Tell your tuner your situation, most retunes aren't a completely new fee. I think I paid $50 to go from a catless invidia to a catted grimmspeed downpipe a number of years ago.
  13. Call your current insurance company and see what they say about declared value or something similar?
  14. Age/mileage of engine? Is this a daily thing? No clatter on hot starts?
  15. Changed oil last night for the first time with the splash shield back on. Blegh I didn't miss fiddling with that. Then apparently some oil spilled on the shield and dripped off after the first drive, leading me to frantically verify the engine wasn't leaking before driving to work this morning. I used the amsoil filter. I have like a box of them stashed away. No jk just the crummy blue one.
  16. Mine are broke too, but the last time I looked up there it didn't look like they could be replaced. I could be way wrong though. I think I saw the part number at any rate once. https://parts.bestbuysubaru.com/a/Subaru_2005_Legacy-25L-TURBO-5MT-4WD-GT-Limited-Wagon/_54103_6029962/SUN-ROOF-BODY/B13-654-05.html So this makes it look like the ends of that rod are what you can replace. At any rate, I'd check junkyards for Outbacks and they're likely to be more popular.
  17. Custom is pretty much your only option for non stock looking headlights that aren't garbage. X2 on bayson r. Google them, buy what you like. Lowering has a really wide range of options and targets. Lots of garbage ways to do it and lots of pricier but well reviewed options. Check out the exterior and suspension/brake forums below. They'll give you a bunch of ideas and options that hopefully achieve what you want. I went kw coilovers and full poly suspension. It's harsh and way less comfortable than stock and tons of other options. But that's what I wanted so I'm cool with it. Your targets and amount of compromise you're okay with will determine what route to take.
