  1. Northgate Mall meet tonight 6:30. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?p=39081412&posted=1#post39081412
  2. You da man Climber, thanks for the input. Mileage on current ATF unknown, looks and smells good/ok. I plan on finally flushing this weekend (payday). I'm convinced the click in the shifter console is normal [shiftlock??] operation and I just hear it (124k miles) when I'm being anal. It clicks in N when slowing down right at the same 5ish MPH so like you said, I like that answer. And same with the noise when going from 1st-Drive to 1st-Sport/manual, it's got to be the Direct Clutch you mentioned. I could clearly hear it was the fluid moving thru a different set of vanes, I just needed someone like you to 'esplain to me somesing' :-) Also only notice this noise in a drive thru, all accy's off, window down....or in the driveway with the door open :-) I'm so my own worst enemy and causer of stress. Thanks again for your input Climber, I really appreciate it. After March (dang wedding) I hope to be hitting you up for a VB/kit too! I've been jonesing since I got a ride in Zen's GT.
  3. ^ Yeah I totally got lost in the tabs yesterday, and like 20 mins before that I was talking with a buddy about whacking some of the dome off my 12.5:1? slugs for my small block chev, so when I saw pistons and machinging, I got excited, lol. That's so bitchin' you, Frank, and Climber are getting this deep into the 5eats. This also excites me, hahaha.
  4. Are you guys talking about turning engine pistons? If you are, I'd think HSS would be just fine for that. I love cutting with Carbide, but we do some high volume jobs with alot of material removal so it's worth it. Sit down when you start pricing out Carbide k? :-) I don't think I would trust a Grizzly lathe for that though, not enough repeatability there. If you need some prototype type work done let me know, I'm ok with a lathe but I'm pretty good on a mill. I could get one of our guys to make a program at least. And as a rule of thumb, I leave .005-.010 for a final pass when milling, and for what I've done on the lathe .003-005 for a final has been working great. Depending on the mat'l if you try to cut too little, it will just deflect the tooling and make a "spring pass.
  5. Well I must just be lucky then. I really need to start listening to the radio more, instead of my car.
  6. I've got a couple q's for you 5eat masters It's not a new noise or anything, but I can hear an audible click from the shift gate when it downshifts to 1st gear while coming to a stop(Sport, Reg, or Man) the same sound as if I tap the brake pedal while in P (which I get that noise) but why the downshift click? And secondly, while stopped, if I manually engage 1st I can hear a heatshield rattle type noise but like very subdued, then push the stick back to Regular mode and it goes away, manually engage 1st and it comes back, etc etc. Any insight Climber or Frank? PS - The hot fluid level is between the upper marks, and smells pretty good. 122k miles, Stg2 unknown mileage. Was kind of planning on doing a fluid flush next week, time and $ permitting. I'll see if the noise will show up on video... http://static.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid476.photobucket.com/albums/rr126/mikabuc/20130125_213704.mp4 If that vid works you should be able to hear two clicks when it downshifts to first, the noise from manually engaging 1st didnt really "show up" on the vid...
  7. I'm in! I plan on catching the pack in/around the Monroe area though.
  8. Wise guy eh? I just got very excited about that huge Amsiol filter and realized it was the dual filter kit, bahaha.
  9. I did a quick search in this thread to no avail.... But I personally haven't been able to locate an RCA to mini HDMI cord for my Android phone locally, and would live to be able to use my phone instead of the ipod. Any ideas/solutions?
  10. Zen was saying his 2-3 or 3-4 was super harsh at first but that it smoothed out once the tcu relearned itself. It feels stock as a rock until it shifts under power. It's seriously all I can think and talk about now...The fiance is a good sport :-)
  11. So I got a ride in a fellow members Hexmods VB (+BnR 16g ) equipped GT today SCHWIIINNGGGG!!!!!! Oh my gosh it was amazing, my stock trans feels like a case full of jello or pudding compared to Zen's! The 5EAT should have been like this from the factory! T The actual shift (1-2, 2-3....) is incredibly quick. Is the delay from input to actual shift any quicker, I was too excited by the lightning shifts to really pay attention The Holidays can't pass quick enough now, I need to save up and get one for my wagon! Thanks for making this available Hexmods, I can't wait!
  12. Hey! Real quick, is the oil pickup tube towards the F or R of the pan? PS- Never used RP, but was told explicitly not to use it in my bike as well :-) I've read the same about their trans fluid.
  13. I plan on putting Shell T6 in next O.C. Seems like a win-win.
  14. EDIT*** I remember having this conversation about the breather hoses already Disregard the following: So for the valve cover breather hoses... I'm trying to pop those loose BEFORE I pry the VC off and it's kicking my ass :-( Will they flex enough ,w/o kinking, to remove them after the VC is free?
