  1. I have not seen this mentioned before so I automatically assumed worse case scenario, lol. Thanks Mike :-)
  2. I have posted in the bnr walkthrough and wanted to post here as well for visibility. Sorry. So I went to install my BNR evo16g. Started by swapping oil drain tube (hard line on CHRA) Then went to put on the coolant line (double banjo hardline) and it doesnt fit. I have cut the "bridge" off in between the banjo fittings and now I can get both coolant banjo bolts in, but the support/anchor points don't line up to the mounting ponts in the compressor housing. What the hell? I had a vf40. Do I need to use the coolant lines from a vf46 or what? Any tips or insight would be greatly appreciated, I'm stuck now :-( Thanks in advance.
  3. So uh, my old coolant hard lines don't fit. I cut the "bridge" to see if that was the problem, but to no avail. I can get the banjo bolts in no problem, but the support/anchor bolt holes don't line up with the holes in the compressor housing at all. I had a vf40. Do I need to use the vf46 coolant hard lines, or what? Any tips or insight would be very much appreciated as now I'm stuck in he middle of the install :-( One thing after another, I swear.
  4. Hahaha, yeah I hicksta-d the hell out of mine. 1st one I torqued way too much, 2nd and 3rd ones didn't lock. (Hitting my TMIC with a punch and 16oz ball peen while holding tool and punch with same habd is pretty sketchy, IMO) I have learned over the years to buy extras. If you don't need em, you got em for next time
  5. Sure am glad I bought some extra straps from you Mike! That was the first time I have used them, I boogered 3 of them before I got the 'feel' for it Totally stoked with the BP kit, thanks again Seeeyaaa amd BMB!!!!
  6. WOO-HOO!!! http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr126/mikabuc/20130923_174542_zpsf230c9e4.jpg http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr126/mikabuc/boost_zps706e2340.jpg
  7. ^^ IIRC.... There's one in/on the turbo, one on the back of the block on the passenger side, and then theres one more behind the timing cover on the driver side on the front of the block. Basically any banjo bolt that has a raised tit on the head. (right?)
  8. Just got off the phone with Bryan @ BNR and got my evo16g ordered up! Just waiting for the IP&T filtered oil line kit to come off of backorder status and arrive then game on! I'm pretty flippin excited! I miss my wagon, it's almost been a month :-(
  9. I made all the rails for my BP kit after/at work today! But I made it all out of 1/2" wide channel...Doh! (Was wondering why there was so much slop, lol) Guess I'll re-do tomorrow :-/
  10. So I didn't 'blow' my turbo afterall, turns out I sucked 1 big and 1 small piece of up pipe cat converter into the turbo and it created a mechanical blockage. With the pieces removed, the shaft play increased (~.006" axial, ~.007" fore/aft.) so I'm going to buy a new turbo (bnr evo16g), IP&T oil line, and a dw65c hopefully this coming week. I drained and sifted the oil and didn't find anything but I'll do an extra OC within a couple hundred miles. I'm pretty relieved and so I just kinda hit the pause button so I can round up the cash. Thanks for the input everybody, I appreciate it! EDIT: I just got the oil line, fuel pump and gaskets ordered from Infamous!
  11. Thank you very much for taking the time to do this. It just helped me immensely!
  12. I like the sound of that much better. Thanks for all of you guys' help, I really appreciate it. I'll get the turbo and oil pan pulled before I speculate any more :-)
  13. Well I wasn't just going to slap another turbo on and run it, but I understand what you guys are saying. I'm going to pull the oil pan and cooler and sift/magnet the oil when I drain it amd split the filter apart to check for schrapnel/metallic objects before I go forward. I guess I'm just experiencing sticker shock is all. I just figured $785 for the turbo + $175 for the IPT feedline kit for around $975 worth of total damage shipped to my house. It's the ~$350/$400 for injectors and another ~$350-400+ for a dyno tune that made me go "Oh shit!" And I'd still need a fuel pump. I was already seeing 85%-ish I.D.C.'s already. $150 for a dw65? Ah hell... It's going to take a while to save as I don't want another vf46/IHI turbo. Gotta play to play right?
  14. Whoa. I just read thru all 27 pages because I joined the "my turbo blew" club this weekend. ZERO boost when I left the house Saturday morning so turned around, garaged it and grabbed the wifes 'Rolla. No smoke either. Turbine spins, I can't hear or see housing contact (granted it's still in car) but if I push a little axialy the shaft binds and gets resistant. TMIC says I caught it in time and I planned to pull turbo, drain oil and pull oil pan today but I didn't get to it I lost the wind from my sails, haha. BNR 16g appeals to me. I can't do any fueling now. Hell, I can't even afford this right now, damnit. The Cobb OTS stage 2 map would run that turbo just fine wouldn't it?
  15. Northend meet at The Tulalip Outlet Mall parking garage next week on the 23rd!!! Don't make me be the only LGT! http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2534304
  16. Looks like there is going to be a Subaru cruise up to Leavenworth on the 17th.... http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?p=40348447&posted=1#post40348447 I'd like to go but there's a killer mini truck show the same day like 10ft from my house... What to do?
  17. Sorbus, Do you think I could get you to measure your fender arch heights, in inches, front and rear for me? Pretty please with a TMIC on top?
  18. It's 8th mile, but it's still a drag strip I guess! :-) Track surface does have some lean to it as well...
  19. StanceWars in Bellevue this Saturday at the college and Evergreen drift in Monroe Saturday as well. I might go to the drags at Evergreen tonightas well... ?
  20. ^ I feel you there Box! I was the same way with my sportbike.
  21. Oh come on, that's gotta be like a 20 min walk for you Do it.
