  1. i wish we had the sliding 25 year rule here, gotta be 66 and older to not have emissions. or historical. or a show car. both of those have limited miles allowed as well.
  2. that car has coilovers, i could probably get the 225/45 under there without much trouble, the tread width at 225 is about 8.5" which is only 1/2" hanging on either side of the wheel. with stock struts on my 96 GT and the 16"wrx wheels i couldnt get the 225/50 on there without spacers. 10mm spacer worked great tho, kept the tire away from the strut. right now it has 215/50/16 on it, and it worked on the 95 wagon, the GT and the 99 forester. the forester looked like it skipped leg day tho
  3. https://goo.gl/photos/eKRWiiRGJbGpETWB7 got that LT1 started last night. still has a way to go before on the street, but it was great to see it run. even with one of the mufflers not connected lol.
  4. he bought a new oil pan, put it in and got it up and operating again without any pics, or even telling me he was doing it. gotta love that, haha. my son also went and bought a 2010 chevy silverado 4x4 right before xmas, so hank is mine to play with again. forester still smokes a bit on start up, so i guess it will eventually need fixed. again. i have another full engine for that one tho (EJ253) so ill put it on a stand and start a full rebuild. she got her own tires this last week, put 215/65/16 on the wrx wheels that were on lefty. now lefty has rs25 wheels and pretty bad tires lol. ive been working out of town consistently for a few months now, keeps me from posting as well as working on my own vehicles for now. we did manage to put a new crate LT1 back into my friends caprice classic this past weekend, only thing left to do is put the headers on and start the sucker up. hoping to get that done tonight! we built that car for his dad, with a lot of help from his dad. sometimes hindrance as well.
  5. ej253 is sohc and the ej25d is dohc for one, along with the parts he listed for you above that are different. beyond that, im not really sure what else is different.
  6. i have a 95 with 17X7.5 +43 wheels on it, just not sure what the clearance difference is between the first and second gen legacys is
  7. love the grill, i may have to try that on one of mine
  8. what stickers? i only see the stupid jdm yo sticker on the side
  9. tinypic has multiple file upload as well, and you can set them private and separate by album as well. the ones i keep private are just the camera roll from my phone, just stuff that isnt meant for the general public to see, not necessarily ones i dont want on the net. i share them from there to family, friends, work and other things. i havent used imgur at all, beyond browsing their public dumps from other people
  10. tinypic.com is what i use most of the time. google+ photos is what i use for non-public stuff.
  11. i dont even need a permit to put mine in my pocket lol
  12. i have a loaded magazine in my pistol, a spare on the holster and 2 more in a cubby within reach.
  13. their point of view. sarcastically and passive-aggressive [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4IjTUxZORE]Millennials: We Suck and We're Sorry - YouTube[/ame]
  14. ya i thought of that as well. my bird will hate two cats lol.
  15. im kind of attached to the cat at this point. no disagreements with you guys tho, ive told her the same thing.
  16. well, i still get a bit of smoke when it first starts in the morning, which doesnt make a whole bunch of sense, i have good compression on all 4 cylinders now, as well as lo real leakdown. the PO did run this sucker for a couple months on 3 cylinders tho, so theres bound to be a ton of raw fuel and oil stuck all through the exhaust still. mebbe that is the cause. the car is running great tho, going today to get it all registered in her name and such. so, ill be one less car in my stable. hank had a bit of an adventure this weekend, my son took him out to sycamore creek and punched a hole in the oil pan. did a desert repair, jbweld covered with exhaust patch tape to get it home. its still holding so far, but i will have to replace the pan in the near future. he also smacked the exhaust around as well, either broke a bolt, cracked a pipe or separated a joint under there somewhere, i didnt want to look yet. ill get it up on a lift this week and see how much damage he created. i will need skid plates soon too, i suspect.
  17. haha i have them spread out between my house, my sons house and my friends shop. the forester lives! got it running last night, sounds great. lots of power, and only a bit of smoke when it first started. so far everything is good, now to get some tires on it and get the GT back so i can rebuild the front end. she wants me to put the stereo in from her old civic, along with the sub i gave her for graduation. im gonna miss that sucker, sounds great.
  18. i need to rehome my daughters cat, she moved out a year ago and the cat stayed with me. im rarely home, i basically sleep there. he has no human interaction beyond me, and its starting to show he almost attacked my oldest daughter this morning when she came over to go vote with me, and even swiped at me when i stood between them. hes turning feral with all that time alone in that house. i do like the cat, but i think its unfair to keep him cooped up without any friends or humans around to interact with. im pretty bummed, and i know my daughter will be too. she would take him in a second if her boyfriends german shepard wouldnt eat him.
  19. i bought the other outback, good deal for a decent car with a crapped out motor (EJ25). tried to start it, you can hear the bearings complaining. milky oil and all. but, it was less for the whole car than i could find a decent trans for, so im not complaining. the interior is way better than any of my current cars, and the body is straight. same color as hank but a year newer. Hank Jr is his name. sadly, hank will be the parts car i bought him as, and give up his engine to hank jr. his drive train will be smokeys in the near future.
  20. well, smokey seems to have lost a bit of transmission performance. like, you can hear it grind when you try to drive it. got hank (the outback) up again so my son at least has a car to drive. im pretty bummed, smokey is my fave of the bunch. i do have a line on a cheap outback with blown head gaskets tho, i may pick him up and use the drive train for smokey. Lefty the GT has a ton of front end issues popping up, looks like a full rebuild once i get him back home from my daughter driving it. her forester is almost done and back on the road, just have to get the radiator back in and start it up. my sons dodge never got started with the 360 in it, so he finally did what ive been telling him from the start. the original 318 block is at the machine shop, 30 bore and new cam should wake that truck up.

    Weird News

it was also a year ago.
  22. did no one notice th reflection of the beanie wearing dude in there? probably his smokes and mini bottle of alcohol.
  23. the son decided he needed to sand and primer my car. i hope hes planning on doing another coat and sand soon, gonna set up and paint it in my buddies shop at some point after. http://i66.tinypic.com/2n7i9l0.jpg
  24. my son prefers the shield 45 as his edc, but he does want a smaller 9mm to conceal when he gets old enough. as for ability to learn the weapons and such, i think its largely swayed bythe person's individual experiences. whether thats a friends pistol, stuff they saw on tv or whatever. i edc an old ruger P89 hammer gun, it has the old decocker and safety on it and still works like a charm. i taught my kids how to shoot at a fairly young age, but i also had them on different styles enough where i didnt think they would miss out on differences because of it. the funny part is, they all share my dislike for the glock culture. i dont have any real qualms with glock, i just think they are the velveeta on the gun world, and id rather have spray cheese. i do like the new rugers, both the small concealable ones and the full frame ones. havent shot them much but i do like them. they are fairly easy on the wallet as well from what ive seen so far.
