  1. - we need to pull the 05 seat apart now... - Just like the Spec B seat, the backrest is held on with just 4 bolts. http://i.imgur.com/fRA3jO7.jpg http://i.imgur.com/wPWNXww.jpg - This backrest has 4 wires, instead of 3. The extra one is located on the side of the frame. Unplug these and the backrest will be free from the base. http://i.imgur.com/icyW4B6.jpg http://i.imgur.com/61vZr3C.jpg http://i.imgur.com/euTXsiz.jpg
  2. - Now that we have the Bracket off, we need to seperate the cushion from the base. - The cushion is held on with a series of clips and hog rings. http://i.imgur.com/Rx6IUlT.jpg http://i.imgur.com/GvAcVVk.jpg http://i.imgur.com/kTtPcTu.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Egn6fav.jpg - There's a few more hog rings hidden under the front flap, after you get the clip off. http://i.imgur.com/5WVexj4.jpg - The cushion will come right off now. Again, we won't be needing the base. So you can do whatever you want with it. http://i.imgur.com/UtpGc62.jpg
  3. - Now we have to remove the seat base from the rails.. - Four bolts hold them together. - We won't be needing the rails. You can trash them, if you want. http://i.imgur.com/pOXVXCZ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/kA2DCvx.jpg http://i.imgur.com/hSjnTL0.jpg
  4. - There's 3 wires that come out of the spec b backrest. Locate them, and unplug them. - The backrest is now free of the base. http://i.imgur.com/RlF9mqj.jpg http://i.imgur.com/gJnhP4i.jpg
  5. - jumping back to the spec b seat, to remove the backrest. - There are two bolts on each side the hold the backrest on. http://i.imgur.com/2ennOEP.jpg http://i.imgur.com/lNtgcma.jpg
  6. - Over to the right side... - The right cover is held on with One screw in the back, Two screws on the side, and two clips on the forward end. http://i.imgur.com/ZYzcedm.jpg http://i.imgur.com/RnWQWGn.jpg http://i.imgur.com/FiqpKy0.jpg
  7. - Jump to the 05 seat, and remove plastic covers. - The left cover is held on with just two screws.. one on the side. One in the back. http://i.imgur.com/B78nHSY.jpg http://i.imgur.com/DNz0LgN.jpg http://i.imgur.com/4XyFzWj.jpg
  8. - Move around to the right side. - The right cover is held on with one screw on the back, one clip on the side, and a metal bracket that sits in a pocket on the cover. - Be aware that you need to pull the front end of the cover out AND up. If you pull straight out, you risk breaking off of the pocket for the metal bracket. http://i.imgur.com/zs9orLf.jpg http://i.imgur.com/GYycWXg.jpg http://i.imgur.com/uewyscg.jpg
  9. - PASSENGER SEAT - - The passenger seats are completely different. There is no way to rewire the 07+ seats, to work with the 05 computers... the car just will not accept the 07+ setup. SOOO..... We will be swapping the entire base assembly. http://i.imgur.com/CN03XEd.jpg http://i.imgur.com/rzTk3pg.jpg - Start breaking down the Spec B seat. - You don't need to remove the belt buckle. I just already had, before realizing that I didn't need to. - The left hinge cover is held on with Two screws, and one clip. http://i.imgur.com/7xfow0R.jpg http://i.imgur.com/n34tIr5.jpg http://i.imgur.com/gqGtGPD.jpg
  10. - Time to call in supervision. Passenger seat is next. http://i.imgur.com/fUlzfAg.jpg
  11. - 08/09 seats also have a differnt seatbelt. - 05 harness requires a seatbelt with two plugs. So you will either have to steal the buckle off your old seat, or source an 05 buckle... just depends on your original color. If you had tan 05 seats, you'll probably want to go find a black 05 buckle. http://i.imgur.com/OlcW1Og.jpg - Put on your 05 buckle, give your seats a good clean, and you're all ready to install your 08/09 driver seat! http://i.imgur.com/5ERLgNV.jpg
  12. - 08/09 seats are missing a limit sensor that the 05-07 seats have. - It's held on with rivets. So you'll need to drill them out to get it off. - I just coiled up the wire and zip-tied the sensor to the bottom of my 09 seat. Just make sure to leave enough slack to plug it into the cars wire harness, when you go to install the seat. http://i.imgur.com/oym7Hvv.jpg http://i.imgur.com/WMQpxvO.jpg
  13. - Move the plug from the 05 seat to your spec b seat.. you'll only be using the two power wires. (The larger black and red wires). http://i.imgur.com/ZlLG6PQ.jpg - You can leave the other two just hanging. But I chose to bend them back, and wrap them with tape. http://i.imgur.com/qvpx0x2.jpg - Put all the plugs back, and you are ready to install the Driver seat. *08/09 SEATS* You aren't done... keep reading. http://i.imgur.com/vLUSGHR.jpg
  14. - No need to cut wires. We will simply re-pin the plugs. - To do this, you'll need something flat, or something pointy.. either way, it must be small enough to get under the clip that holds the pins in.. - Lift the clip, and just slide the wires out. http://i.imgur.com/cucdBEJ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/2AkinoZ.jpg - The plug for the 05 seat will require popping off the retainer clip, before removing the pins. *Be sure to keep track of what side the colors were on, so you know what side to put them back into.* http://i.imgur.com/XAbzd7X.jpg
  15. - DRIVER SEAT - - Go get your car, and pull out your driver seat. This seat is easy. AANNNNNNDDD you'll get to keep the memory positioning option... - As you can see, both seats look almost identical.. http://i.imgur.com/bqGCwaB.jpg - The black power plug is where the seats differ. 2005 plug only has Two wires. 07-09 power plug has Four. http://i.imgur.com/gEOOoyc.jpg http://i.imgur.com/NirMdW2.jpg
  16. - First things first. You must aquire your interior. This interior is from a 2007 spec b. It will be going into a 2005 outback. Unfortunately the rear backrest can't be used in the wagon. But the rear lower cusion and the fronts will be used. http://i.imgur.com/3bedPfm.jpg http://i.imgur.com/83LFnWt.jpg http://i.imgur.com/IDc7SQA.jpg
  17. *READ WALKTHROUGH BEFORE STARTING INSTALL. AS YOU MAY NEED TO AQUIRE SOME PARTS TO MAKE IT WORK* - Hey guys. I've done a couple spec b interior swaps for 05 cars, and found the available walkthroughs to be missing a lot of useful details. Or the pictures have disappeared since the walk through was posted. Magnuson and I kinda fumbled through the install of my 2009 spec.b interior. But got it done. Over the past weekend I also installed an 07 spec b interior. There are a few differences between the 07 seats and the 08/09 seats. - I'll be posting a walkthrough that highlights the differences, along with some extra "pro tips" that you may find useful if you started out with a tan interior, and don't have black plastics to finish off your new interior. - 07 seats will be the focus of this walkthrough.. But I'll make sure to highlight the extra steps required for 08/09 seats in RED. (I'LL ALSO HIGHLIGHT EXTRA STEPS FOR PEOPLE WHO HAD TAN SEATS) - Be patient with the post for a few days. I'm doing this while splitting my attention with work. http://i.imgur.com/4gBHjzn.jpg http://i.imgur.com/duUEEem.jpg
  18. I did this in mine... Here's all the part numbers.
  19. Hey thanks!. Volk LE28N. 18x7.5 +43. Nothing aggressive. Very functional daily setup.
  20. What you need is a JDM rear bumper. They are about 3-4 inches shorter. Perfect exhaust fitment. mine use to tuck like that, with my usdm bumper... http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u542/Kalien32/Mobile%20Uploads/AW8A3974_zpsdavb8ohk.jpg
