  1. Ordered an upgrade. https://www.uniden.com/shop/automotive/extreme-long-range-laser-radar-detector-with-gps/ I have a great Beltronic STi Magnum but with all the rich cars floating around where I live with assisted driving and blind spot radar, its getting triggered too much. I'll put it up for sale on the classified when I get the new one wired in. Also bought a hardwire kit for the new one.
  2. Sorta an interesting read here. Certainly will help Subaru in the future - no more to compete with on a sport car/sedan level at least here in the U.S. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-04-26/what-would-henry-think-ford-is-about-to-abandon-american-sedans
  3. Listen to us dudes help each other out hiding stuff from our wives. So funny!
  4. Just for nostalgia, I re-read this entire thread. I miss those days where we were discovering new fun stuff all the time. Also miss a few of the "old" ones... Surly for example.....
  5. Driving home - traffic, I'm jamming to music with my windows down - a guy pulls up and says "I love your subi!". "awe thanks" I reply. He gives me the thumbs up and drives away. I realize he is driving a Chevy Sonic LT... started me wondering about his story. Did he have one and had to sell it - if so I felt really bad for him. But regardless, I felt great!
  6. Dammit. Pushed the "buy" button. I tried a STI steering wheel, figured it wouldn't bother me on the small fitment issues, but, it did. If one would get the STI airbag to hook up it would be awesome - but I'm just gonna go with one that matches our bag. Now the 2-3 weeks of waiting..... https://www.japanparts.com/parts/detail/43347 never ends....
  7. always a fan of catted. Just opens too many possible issues if no cat.
  8. https://www.japanparts.com/parts/detail/52715 $307...plus shipping
  9. Installed a home security system - Swann wired set up - one of the times I was very happy that I'm only 5'7 and 165lbs as I squeezed into small areas of my attic running wires. Ive got a bunch of scrapes on my bald head from where the nails from the roof was digging in as my mouth was breathing in that insulation snow crap... But, I did it! pretty cool and quite proud of myself. Sore today!
  10. Welcome to the fun. Have a great time digging into this forum! Check out the stickies - wealth of info. I will have one suggestion, get a skidplate. Best one is by Primative - if you chat with them they can mod it for oil cutouts and what not. I had mine modded for my AVO Jpipe as well. Otherwise, hunt the build lists of many of the veteran owners - lots of thought and trial and error will have been done already. Enjoy - its a special car, difficult with support, but definitely a thrill to drive
  11. I asked. Prob is that the roof and bumpers (that will not be painted as there was no damage) would need to be done as well to match whatever I went with - which would have been a bit of cost to me @ $1000 (front bumper would require some buffing out all the chips). So its the stock color again. Which is alright...Once I went black, I won't go back! I can always wrap it later!
  12. Ugh. Insurance called - having to replace my hood now - one little hail hit wont pop back down.... Called the repair shop to walk them thru taking off that Corozon scoop.... The good thing is that they are all mod guys and recognized that its special. I just want my car back. Got to drive it for the first time during spring break after being in the shop for a year getting all the internal stuff done, then to get it taken away again for body work is killing me.
  13. Anybody here attempt or run a KB dual reservoir tank? Want to buy, as my washer tank had to be moved out of the way (zip tied) for the FMIC piping.... it should. Just would like some pics of 5th gen set ups.
  14. Ran CC stage 2.5 for a long time 100k miles - great clutch, bit chatty going into 1st every so often - but no big deal. However, AWDtuning switched me out to my first ACT HD clutch and I feel (for me) its a much better engaging clutch. Now, they chose that for my power and I have yet to have much, if at all, chatter. So - call me a believer! But, I do think that many times its the installer's awesomeness that cleans it up.
  15. Similar to what happened in my Altima SER - Valve body solenoid was messed up... ended up replacing transmission.... hope its not that extreme.. good luck!
  16. Going to roll up to get my car this weekend - FOR SURE! Tunes are done. I asked for smart tunes as always. 93 - 320whp/360wtq E85 - 362whp/420wtq. I really am excited for the graphs tho - hoping that the power holds better with the addition of the cams and TGV deletes...and of course that massive FMIC will help However, Totally excited to take my oldest girl (9years old) with me. Figured I'd make a great weekend out of it since we are both on Spring Break. She is so stoked, even turned down a weekend with grandma and going to a ballet performance - ha! Fired a note to the guys up in Dallas concerning where they meet up on Saturday nights - we will hit the Ripley's Believe it or Not, Children's Aquarium, Log Cabin Village, and the Dinosaur Park. Daddy/Daughter Subi Weekend!
  17. Vince, you need to create a list on the ones spoken for and how many you have left...
  18. Rookie to the waiting game! Stu's the master. I'm trying to overthrow him.
