  1. Took the 08 WRX to the strip tonight, pretty good time for being at 5800ft elevation.

    60': 2.02

    330': 5.993

    1/8: 9.353 @ 73.99

    1000': 12.220

    1/4: 14.670 @ 92.47mph

only mods so dar are a megan racing downpipe and cobb stage 2 OTS map. I am running the stock CBE exhaust (1.9') which is probably really hurting my numbers. As soon as my SPT exhaust comes off backorder I will see what I can get.

I can't wait til I go stg 2 on the STI, however it'll be dp and crosspipe only. Leaving stock cans on the car.

  2. Alright, here it is:

65 Deg, freaking crazy east winds! :( Completely stock 05 LGT 5EAT, 90 oct stock map, no tuning, no nothing, everything STOCK!

    +.2670 RT

    2.0810 60'

    6.0769 330'

    8.8269 594' ET

    9.4380 1/8 ET

    73.64 1/8 MPH

    14.8181 1/4 ET

    89.27 1/4 MPH

I was pretty consistent in 14.8's and running 89-92 mph. Did 7 passes, very little launch, about 2800 rpms. This beats my previous best stock run back in Sept 05 of 15.03 @ ??? mph

  3. well, tomorrow afternoon if the weather still holds, I plan to take the LGT to the track for 3 passes. I want to see what she can do completely stock, now that I have some experience under my belt. The only time I took her out stock was back in Sept 05 and my best run was a 15.03. I don't plan on running her a lot, just want 3 baseline runs and to also to get the fuel economy before installing the Hydro 4000 kit.
  4. Taking the new toy to the track friday night, only running the 1/8th. Will only be running the car about 70% it's just leaning out to much @5400

Really just trying to get the 60ft time down around 1.65-1.75 on skreet tires;)

Not running the drag radials until I can really get on the car. Should be able to go sub 1.5's really launching hard;):):):)

drag radials, eh? ;) I don't think my car could handle those. the rear diff would probably fly right out of the car!

  5. Shes using 100 octance...

correct. and I have a map for the 100 octane as well which makes a big difference. Even on my stock 90 oct maps, I run 13.19. My traps were a little low this time, but my ET was better. I pretty much did a 5500 RPM clutch drop, slipped it a little and then almost immediately shifted to 2nd. 1st gear is super short! than ran the gears up to red line and shifted about 6500 RPM all the way down the strip.

And there are a few of the seasoned veterans who run a consistent .000 reaction time. I've watched them race and they are amazing! not only are they fast, but they are DEAD ON with RT and ET!

  6. I don't know how to explain it... sorry. :( My worst time of the day was a 2.0 60' (no launch) and 13.614 @101.55. This was the championship run vs a Camaro that I lost to (sorta intentionally, but not really caring either way) to win a NOS kit. I didn't want it, so I didn't really try. So the guy beat me by .108 sec. I figure it's still a good time since I didn't launch the car at all and only redline shifted. I beat this guy all day long, but really, what was I going to do with a NOS kit? I'd already ran my 12 sec run so afaic I was DONE! But.... Continental Subaru was sponsoring me so I should have cared and just won it for them and sold the NOS kit. This was pointed out to me after I lost when everyone asked why the hell I let the other guy win? oh well!
  7. Awesome driving, What was your 60'?

sorry, I was wrong on the mph, it was 102.50 mph, but still.....

    time slip as follows:

    +.2040 RT

    1.7210 60'

    5.2270 330'

    7.6309 ET @ 594'

    8.1690 1/8 ET

    83.63 1/8 MPH

    12.9479 1/4 ET

    102.50 1/4 MPH

sun was out and it ended up being about 65 Deg outside, very little wind. I have an AMR CAI and AMR 100 octane tune for the strip on my 08 STI. Nothing else, completely stock, including a screwed up OEM clutch.

  8. Well atleast it is faster, only thing that concerns me is Legend's car ran a bit faster on the stock vf40 at the same track. However based upon your slip, with some better drivng your car has a 13.9xx in it as it sits.

agreed. you can clean up the map a little, but your 60' sucketh. you need to work on that. get it to 1.8's and you should easily be in 13's.

  9. well, we're not at 0 ft sea level, but 70 ft is pretty damn close! and overcast, good temps (could have been 40's for optimal turbo happiness). Frustrating me because I know it's ME that's preventing the 12's and NOT the car at this point. I'm half tempted to swap tires or something, get something a little less weight than 18" wheels. Eh.. we'll see see. drag radials would be sweet. ;) Actually one point of the night, I thought I killed my rear diff because I shot out of the hole so hard it jerked to the right. So I let off the gas a little, make sure the car was still running... oh well.

And I think I need some shifter bushings. I missed 3rd on 2 of my runs. I mean, I went to shift into 3rd and it would NOT go in! I was getting extremely pissed! But I figured my times were decent since one of those runs I still ran 13.28 with missing 3rd and trying to stuff it in gear. Phew! my clutch is STINKY!

  10. argh!!!! So, not the LGT anymore, however the new car:

    08 STI

    Stock with AMR CAI

    Cobb AP V2

I added a new map tonight from AMR and also tried one from PDX. I had better results from the AMR map, so thank you Rob for helping me out last minute and through the technical difficulties.

55 deg, AK Raceway Park, 70 ft sea level

    +.5269 RT

    1.7940 60'

    5.3542 330'

    7.7641 ET @ 594'

    8.3061 1/8 ET

    83.02 1/8 MPH

    13.0370 1/4 ET

    104.19 1/4 MPH

To compare with my best run ever in the LGT:

Ran on 8/15/07 55 deg (about the same temps and conditions)

    +.5188 RT

    1.83550 60'

    5.3112 330'

    7.7051 ET @ 594'

    8.2362 1/8 ET

    84.72 1/8 MPH

    12.8650 1/4 ET

    105.43 1/4 MPH

So you can see where my 4th gear shift is really hurting my #'s. :( However, the trap speed definitely shows the car can run 12's, now I just need to drive her there!

  11. I think next time, I'm going to swap out tires..... just to see if that will make a difference. ;) They signed me up to race for the Subie dealer on June 21. THe other guy will be Josh, he's got a GT35R in his 02 WRX. thing is a beast! he ran an 11.8 last night (I obviously got beat) and it was amazing!
  12. really? and the temps too. but I was looking at Dave's times for AMR. he ran a 12.9 @ 108 mph but it was 30 deg!!!! holy crap! I WISH i could even get a 45 deg day and run the car... I'm sure with a little better shift (once I figure out when to shift) at 4th gear, I can get the car in 12's without a fancy race gas map like I had in the LGT.
  13. well, not the leggy any more, but I had similar times in the LGT at the start of last track season, so should be interesting to see how it goes by the end. :) First time to the track and first runs in an MT.

  14. It looks like it is possible to get rebates and special finance at the same time from SOA. For example, for a 3.0R (my interest) there is a $750 rebate and a rate of 4.50% for 2009 model. I understand that the rebate can be taken in addition to the "2% less than invoice" price of the VIP program. Does anyone know if you can also get special financing in addition to the VIP price?

    Thanks

    yes
