  1. There is now a build thread, but we can't this stickied? LOL
  2. Ended up getting some silicon grease of some sort from the part store. Said it wouldn't wash away with water or chemicals and temps to 400 degrees.
  3. It is, just takes time. You'll see where to grind as soon as you put the bracket on. I just scratched where to grind with a screw driver. Def more stiff on the corners. What do you know, no noise with this install, unlike my axle haha
  4. You will have to end up grinding down the front brackets to make them fit. My front passenger I have to cut some of the end off of one end and grind a bit of the edge away on the other end as well as the front drivers side. Rears just go back on. Took me a while, but got it done. Just used a dremel for the grinding.
  5. Yeah, crazy noise. I was just thinking, great here we go what did I do. New bushings didn't come with grease. I was looking forward to see how it corners with the new ones. I'll go out tomorrow.
  6. Got the axle situated. THANK YOU IT WAS JUST THE ENDLINKS!!! I ended up using some WD40 on the ball joint to get some rust off and smeared a small amount of (gulp) diff fluid on the ball, all I had haha. Whatever those need to be replaced too
  7. http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/Universal-Sway-Bar-Bushings.asp 9.5157 front and 9.5154 rear Planning on doing this tomorrow. Hopefully my endlink is just noisey like yours was
  8. I went with the ES brand that is recommended. They are poly and come with brackets, seem solid. I got greasable, 20.5mm for the front and 16mm. back. No 21mm greasable.
  9. Good news, no leaks, the car coasts nicely not being held up by the axle. Bad news it clunks and creaks. I am hoping it's the sway bushings, I've bought new ones as the old are beyond blown out. Or possibly didn't get the ball joint all the way in. Or a shitty axle. I'll check tomorrow.
  10. Thanks, that is it. Now the other prob, the new axle won't come out of the diff. UGH. It's in there. Hopefully nothing is messed up. I'll go without the spring for the moment.
  11. More digging, MaxCap seems to think it's from the seal :/ http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/circular-spring-axle-transmision-173287.html
  12. Thanks. I got it popped in, took a few good whacks. Here is a pic of the spring, about 3 inches around. This is not the c clip on the end of the axle. I believe it came out of the diff :spin::spin: EDIT: Looks like it's from the Axle seal...of course!!
  13. Final dumb questions, how do I know if I got the axle all the way into the tranny and correctly. Iis that tranny fluid or diff fluid that came out a bit when I pulled the axle, looks and smells like diff fluid - 5EAT btw. Yeah yeah The cup is actually about an inch away from going in. Not sure what is holding it back. And also a small circular spring came out when inserting the new axle. What did I do??
  14. Yeah stuck in hub. I can wiggle it and it moves the tire bolts on the rotor and if I pull on the rotor to swing it, the axle will move forward out of the tranny, just not out of the hub. I'll pad a hammer and hit the center and see if I can get it loose. Wonder if there is something else with the 07+ I know there are the pins on the older models, but that's on the tranny side. Sooooo clooooossseeee arghhhh
  15. Thanks, this is all good info. Final question (I hope). I cannot get the axle out of the hub/rotor. Popped the ball joint out, but the axle doesn't want to budge. Just more elbow grease?!
  16. Another question. The sway bar end link bolts are just spinning. What's the trick? EDIT:NM, I see what allen wrench is for.
  17. Thanks, I plan on rebooting the original for a back up. I do have a 1/2" breaker I am using, with a 32mm socket. So you are saying to not have the tire on the ground and have someone put pressure on the brakes? EDIT: OK, I'll give that a shot, jack up and foot on brakes. EDIT: WHEW GOT IT!! NUT IS BUSTED! Thanks everyone!
  18. Any suggestions in getting the axle nut off? I got a breaker bar, tire is still on the car, haven't jacked it up yet. Added some PB to it and it's soaking now. Seems the 32mm or 1 1/4 is just a bit wiggley when I try and bust the nut. Besides an impact gun.
  19. Should sound the same, since it's just creating an exhaust leak. If I could get away with it, I'd just do straight pipes. F it!
  20. Haha, my neighbors loved me for that. I gave up the hogs a while back and back to stock. Driving around here didn't want any racers or cops to take notice. Once I get my maintenance items done, I'll be looking for a DP and a mellow sounding exhaust.
