  1. What better time to replace the sway bar lol! Surprisingly never got around to doing this. Engine should be going back in the car tomorrow after misc bits installed today such as timing belt, tstat, oil pan, Southbend Stage 3 endurance and oem flywheel, ngk 1 step colder, intake etc.. been two weeks without my daily driver. Curious if it makes anymore power than last time on stock cams vs sti. Decided to install both intake and exhaust as they looked to be in really good shape. Tune is on November 6 with the miracle power maker Bren Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. It is Dutchers Automotive in Greenfield, Ma. Highly recommend, actually cares about his work and goes above and beyond. Cost me $525 and took just over 3 days to make these perfect!! On a side note, need to replace my stage 3 endurance Southbend clutch which I just replaced a yr ago. Flywheel terribly overheated which came with the kit. I opted for an oem flywheel this time and they are sending me another stage 3 for $918 shipped... is what it is. 1st gear engagement under load was making a screetching sound so better to replace now of course Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Of course there’s always plans for corn but it’s vary scarce where I’m from. Closest station is 35 min away so doesn’t make sense. Also more power with this platform doesn’t make sense with a daily driver . These heads are beautiful looking. Local machine shop is OCD with his work. Looks better than new now! Valves all cleaned up as well as adjusted with new Sti cams installed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Well good news, heads are in good shape, one they had to take 12 thousandths off and that’s it. Two valves were leaking terribly which I’m sure was robbing me of power. Getting both heads back tomorrow with new Brian cower valve springs and sti cams installed. Retested heads and held no problem at 200psi after an awesome machine job cutting and reseating valves etc... Hopefully getting dyno tuned at BrenTuning this upcoming wed as long as everything goes back together by then! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Anyone know the part # for the cam adjuster tool pretty sure it’s a 10mm. Also one of my heads is so warped, you can “seesaw” it on a flat surface :0... any head upgrades out there lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Ok, the jury has spoken, grabbed the Brian cowers! Build starts tomorrow then sending heads to the machine shop Monday. I don’t think I’ll have to do anything with the valves. I’ll let the machine shop go through it and let me know Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Technically i only need the 8 exhaust valve springs as I’m only installing the exhaust cams right? Well I guess I could install the intake cams too... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Hey Tease, long time!!! You to FL.. just ordered those cams off eBay, couldn’t find any local or on NASIOC etc... still decent price and shipping out tomorrow. I get wholesale pricing on all other parts including exhaust valve springs from my local Subaru dealer. How’s this thing gonna run on my current tune? Should I grab a base map before tune? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Right right!! Also need the springs too right? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Pretty sure these are them?? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F283531031914 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I don’t frequent here much anymore but I’m sure most of you know me . 2010 LGT just turned 70k and just popped the head yesterday as block test tested positive . Was eventually going to happen after 23psi the past 4 years with an 18g Hybrid lol! Getting all oem gaskets and bits as well as timing belt, tensioner etc... arp head studs going in and debating sti cams. If anyone has a hit on some used ones, hit me up ASAP. Still debating it as I don’t really want to retune but would be the most opportune time to do so! Also got to get the car back on the rd Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Wow, the new Legacy’s are just god awful... even the XT! Is it just me or do you guys agree. 5th gen over all of them [emoji2373] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Yeah they are the same... pm incoming Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Finally got to drive one of these today... I’m sold !!! https://youtu.be/ZPODWidq1Mk The dual clutch, no cabin noise, just pure sex really!! Oh a a few bolt ins and e85 and over 550whp, cmon!!!! Kinda like the new RS5 sport hatch too hmmmm... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Haha your right, I totally forgot that Joe lmao!! I even installed everything myself.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Mine have zero rake and sit perfect! I also run 255/40/18 on Miro 8.5” wide wheels with a 30 offset, still have a bit of room in there . I you want more aggressive than that, but a different car lol!! I gave a pic of the clearance somewhere. I think it’s in the Koni thread somewhere... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Joe, haven’t been on here as much but why are we still doing inserts when we have a fantastic late model wrx Koni strut which is a better viable solution than trying to throw inserts into doners? In combo with oem legacy top hats/washer and dust boot for front and dust boots for rear and 3.6r H&R lowering springs, you have a perfect setup!! Is there a benefit with inserts besides cost if you already have doners? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Well, went to grab breakfast this morning and on the way back encountered a new model STI with rally armor mud flaps. Think a younger male driving. Pulled behind him at a stop light one lane rd and he was first in line and me directly behind me. Saw him looking in the rear view mirror prob wondering wtf is behind him lol! I knew it was coming so it’s on... he pulled away and I think medium throttle and I reciprocated staying behind him waiting for the big pull. And here we go, he floors it in second gear! He pulled 3 or 4 lengths before I realized he was on it then I stomped the pedal with heavy aggression! A large puff of smoke poors out my exhaust (Raw fuel) and off I go. Hard to say but within 50 yds roughly I’m on his fender literally could have rammed him off the road but slowly pulled over to now a two lane rd and we both slowed down. I didn’t look at him and then pulled in front of him to the next stop light which was red. Here we go again... I pulled off slowly in 1st gear surprising him as he slammed it almost rear ending me. Then I slammed it in second and take off. You all know what happened, pulled 20 car lengths then let off around 90mph as I just had hit 4th gear. I slowed and turned off the 2 lane rd back to work as he drives by. I did notice a very confused look on this young males face which made me loll!! I’m sure his car was stock, no exhaust etc... but still a fun moment with a legacy demolishing an STI. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. After building my new home and moving in around April of next year, gonna concentrate on saving for an RS3!! I can’t stop thinking of one with basic mods, bringing to Bren’s Tuning and getting close to 500whp!! And that 2.5 5cyl sound.... cmon now!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Not bad as it’s only rated at 315 crank HP. My 376 wtq overcame it very quickly . Loving the new stage 3 endurance though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. We bought a king tempurpedic 6 years ago. Best 5k I’ve ever spent. And no, not all foam mattresses are the same, not even close. Sleep on mine for a night then sleep on a cheapo, you’ll agree with me. Had a pillow top spring mattress and back was a disaster every morning! Go foam or go home haha [emoji38] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I don’t think this car was ever hooking up with the bigger turbo... more load equals more boost, only 3rd gear. I was wondering why I was only hitting 18psi in 4th a few weeks ago. Love this South Bend stage 3 Endurance so far!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Forgot I took this pic of stage 2 daily and oem flywheel, looks to be single mass I guess. Geesh, I beat the shit out of it haha!! The flywheel looks like absolute shit, so overheated and scored... don’t think it liked the torque much I’ll have a nice little write up on the stage 3 endurance soon. Initial impression day 1... in love Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Are you sure because South-bend advertises 05-12 push type with DMF conversion to SMF as seen In link a few posts up. I’ll have to look at the oe flywheel I bought that didn’t go in the car. Thought it was spring loaded but could be way wrong too lol! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Wait what?? I thought we had Dual Mass Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
