  1. When you speak the address, are you saying "123 Main Street Anywhere, CO"? I find that if I say the entire address it nails it every time. When giving only a portion, it fails every time.
  2. Whenever you replace a factory headend, you lose some of the subtle niceties like the TBT in the gauge cluster. Personally, I don't use this feature and if anyone is looking to upgrade a stereo to a NAV, aftermarket is always the better option as you get a far better head unit for a much lower cost that typically does more and a better job of it.
  3. Correct on all fronts but you get them all back by installing the Pioneer so you lose nothing in the end.
  4. On the same page with you buddy...just getting too old to do it myself...rather pay a bud of mine whose a mechanic and is more than reasonable and far cheaper than the dealer.
  5. For some I don't disagree. However, the kit that comes with the Pioneer is nice and matches the factory look and the head unit is far superior to what Subi offers.
  6. spect...we all do what we feel is best and I certainly don't fault you for changing your fluids early. I am one of those guys that does his first oil change at around 2500 miles and then every 5K religiously with synthetic only. I will, most likely, change my diff at 30K unless I feel there's a good reason to go early.
  7. I bought an AVIC-5100NEX and it's an awesome unit. Take a look at http://www.crutchfield.com or http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1305100NEX/Pioneer-AVIC-5100NEX.html?tp=20212 Factory looking install kit http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120958906H/Metra-95-8906HG-Dash-Kit-High-Gloss-Black.html?tp=3121 These Pioneer units blow the factory unit away...if I was doing an upgrade...this is the only real option IMO.
  8. Before I would ever do that I would buy a really nice Pioneer AVIC head unit with NAV for less than half the price of the Subi with Apple Car Play and call it a day! I put one in my Sons car over Christmas and they are the best head units on the market.
  9. There is no proven need other than some folks are very anal and like to do things far more than needed to make themselves feel better.
  10. I think I'll just wait until 30K and have the dealer do it
  11. ^^^agree Woony. Fluid replacement is never a bad thing but wasting money for unnecessary servicing is. 15K is waaaaay too early to replace.
  12. Not a fan at all of footwell illumination but you did a very nice job and great write up and pics. Kudos for being frugal Andrew and getting the same results as those that spent 10X that amount! I'm sure many folks will attempt your "low-cost" mod. Thanks for sharing:)
  13. Need to get a new neighbor.........guess that's better than him kissing your wife;)
  14. ^^^totally agree. Think you'll be just fine but if a bit paranoid, the thread locker is a great idea.
  15. Just happy to see you were able to get it resolved...hate when this $hit happens;)
  16. WOW...you really went to town on that bolt my friend. Looks way more than a hand tighten and torqued to 20. In the end, glad to see you improvised and got it done. No harm...no foul.
  17. What do you mean by "started going down"? Hard to strip a bolt at 20 after hand tightening. Got a pic you can post?
  18. You can certainly do without a TQ wrench...just don't over tighten and strip the threads. You'll be fine!
  19. If you have a torque wrench...not sure I understand your question???
  20. Big Pennzoil Platinum and Ultra fan! All I've used for years.
  21. ^^^correct. Car needs to sit on LEVEL ground and sitting overnight is best. The bottom hole is add and top if full. It typically takes 1 qt to go from bottom hole to top hole. If you are "in-between" than you're looking at 1/2 qt assuming the car is on level ground.
  22. My first oil change won't happen for another 500 miles when I hit 3K. Trip to PITT and back will take me to 3K. Based on the criteria of the OP...can't add much except that I have not burned a drop in 2500 miles.
