  1. With all due respect...not what I am asking. Don't care if he makes them, buys them, imports them or what...he is selling them and I was simply asking if he's a registered "vendor"...that's all. In addition, I think this man can speak for himself;)
  2. OK...maybe I am dense today but how do you buy a 5 year / 80K mile plan (which I do not believe Subaru even sells...there is a 6/80?) and have it get you to 8 years / 80K miles? Is this a genuine Subaru Gold Plus Plan or an aftermarket plan we're talking about here:confused:
  3. That is true but he said nothing about buying used...at least not that I saw.
  4. What? If you bought a 5/60K...it will take you to 5/60K not 8/90K:spin: You don't add the extended on top of the factory...it replaces the factory warranty so you have 5 years or 60K miles total...period;)
  5. @traildogck...are you a registered reseller on this forum?
  6. I went with the 20mm and, IMPO, no real need to "beef" up the links but it's your car.
  7. Whenever something major is done to a car like repainting it, it can have a negative effect on the value of the vehicle at trade or retail sale. Depending upon who does it, it could even show up on a CarFax report. Either way, it will effect the value of the vehicle.
  8. I would have pressed for another $1-$2K in depreciation based on the fact it had to be "resprayed". That's never a good thing and never as "good" as a factory paint job IMPO but, in this thread, I'm sure folks will argue the point:)
  9. That's because it is all WATER-based now versus the past due to Federal laws. That's why you can't buy oil-based paint anymore in the stores.
  10. He's trying to put his kids through college on your dime:lol:
  11. Just tell him Larry, securityguy sent you and you'll be fine...$3200 is
  12. No one will warranty tar on the finish regardless.
  13. http://www.stonercarcare.com/products/exterior/tarminatoraerosol Used this stuff your over 15 years...works well.
  14. Ronin3.6R, I will answer your questions: 1. You have the full 3/36 warranty period to decide to buy the warranty. If you wait, your only risk is that it will go up in price each year 2. Transferrable for $75 I believe 3. You can cancel anytime and get a prorated refund minus a $75 processing fee as long as you have not used the warranty for a repair 4. Correct that is a FULL FACTORY warranty that is in their computer system that every Subaru dealer in North America can see so all repairs are covered with ZERO out of pocket with the $0 deductible plans Another benefit is that you can finance it on any of your major credit cards for 0% at 10 equal monthly payments that Subaru will bill to your charge card so you don't have to pay for it all at once.
  15. The warranties are pro-rated too so if you sell your car, you get a prorated balance on the plan as long as you never filed a claim. I'm with @tornichoe and agree it is a "good" investment and peace of mind.
  16. Call Luke...why are you asking me? This is back from when I was shopping last September. I don't think much has changed and there are several more options in addition to what's below. 7/70 $ 100.00 ded $725.00 8/80 $ 100.00 ded $800.00 10/100 $ 100.00 ded $ 1350.00 7/70 zero ded $ 905.00 8/80 zero ded $ 975.00 10/100 zero ded $ 1530.00
  17. Call Luke at Stamford Subaru...tell him I sent you. Will sell you a Subaru Gold Plus factory plan at cost! Luke Corcione Financial Services Manager Main: 203-252-2222 Fax: 203-252-2139 Off: Thursdays and Sundays
  18. All I can say is that they are designed to have the hump face upwards...it is that way for a reason. Not sure what "noise" people are trying to avoid with installing the Whiteline "upside-down". Should not be much different than factory spec. except thicker and adjustable based on the bar purchased.
  19. I replaced mine on ramps without removing any rear tires. Took me about 30 minutes in my driveway. Handling differences are side to side and makes a difference on a very windy day. The hump should ALWAYS face up and away from the exhaust and other steel components. If yours is down, it should be reinstalled correctly...just like the one you just took out;)
  20. I know a guy who put air horns on his car that sounded like a train...super loud and scared the crap out of everyone that heard it. They were too loud and could cause an accident versus preventing one but they sounded pretty cool.
  21. ^^^you should always look to get things resolved BEFORE your warranty expires and your assumption could be correct or incorrect so why take a chance? I am not aware of anyone having issues after the firmware updates as I have done them all, as have several others, and the head unit in the 15-17 Legacy's has been fairly bullet proof as far as head units are concerned. I would get the latest update and see what happens. If it does not fix the issue, you may have to beg SOA to replace your HU being out of warranty as I doubt your dealer will be so kind to do so. Let us all know how it turns out but my suggestion to everyone approaching your end of warranty...go to the dealer for even the smallest things and get it documented or you may be SOL:eek:
  22. Yep...a very easy way to make things worse than before
  23. The head units in the 15-17 are the same. They changed dramatically in the 18 and nothing in the 18 will work in a prior year car. Go with an aftermarket Pioneer if you really don't like what you have but an 18 radio is out of the question.
  24. Let's not lose sight of the fact that it is NOT the dealer telling you to use OEM glass...so let's be factual about this...it is written in your owners manual from the engineers that designed your car and the ES electronics. @Jenk2k...not trying to "impress" you or anyone with my "dominion or whatever" I am only stating a FACT that you can agree to live with or not. Not being a pompous @$$ by any means...you said you were "confused" and I was trying to help you make a solid decision based on facts. No one on this forum really knows if the recalibration is 100% necessary based on the glass you bought unless you have it done to see if it was "off". Maybe, for me, if I bought Safelite glass and did a recal and it proved unnecessary, then the next windshield (if same exact manufacturer) I may pass on the recal. However, I would certainly get it done for my and mine families peace of mind. It is not that expensive in the scheme of things. @Too40gawlf...I do remember Meredith my friend...loved that woman at Manassas and always took great care of me and my cars but when my son's Impreza windshield broke, I was told to go to Safelite too but I requested that SL use OEM Subaru glass which they did...it just took a few extra days to get. Not swinging purses but I am very safety conscious and have always been. When I see people not doing something that is highly recommended by the manufacturer...not the salesman...and the cost is insignificant and could impact the safety of the car you bought for all the right reasons, it forces me to speak my mind. For those of you that don't like my persistence or my train of thought, then please accept my apology. @zimbonies...thank you Sir for your smart @$$ comment and I hear you loud and clear...I will stay away from Pittsburgh:lol: I am now finished with swinging my purse:p
