  1. You could make a Geico ad out of sensitive New England fans. "It's what you do"
  2. Glad you added to that. I had edited my comment to add about the same but the server took a dump and then I was out the door for a concert. My update was "of course, that's private party, and this is a dealer. The dealer is probably in it for at least $6500 after their purchase price, new tires, and other trade-in related maintenance/cleaning/detailing, etc. So they probably can't go any lower than $7500 - 8" If that's your strategy, go $1000 under. But I'd suggest just using the low end of NADA. In my experience, Dealers don't look at KBB, and live entirely in NADA. They *know* what the NADA values are, and if you're anywhere in the range, they'll know you're in the land of reality.
  3. Oh geez! I didn't even look at the price! Yeah, maybe $6500 - 7 tops
  4. It would be really hard to say. That's a TON of miles for a 4-5 year old car. Probably a salesman's car. That could mean he was reimbursed for all maintenance and he did everything on time, or it could mean he saw it as "not his problem" if something went wrong and did none of it. If they have the service records, then maybe. But if not, I'd stay away from a car that accumulated 40K miles a year
  5. This reply is the most surprising first post I've ever seen!
  6. I ******* hate #12, because I read that last message and genuinely thought "What am I getting dragged into now?" Oh. Right.
  7. Yes, my 194,000 mile 2005 LGT 5mt sedan has just been a nightmare. What with my original turbo, a timing belt replacement, a clutch replacement, and 4 wheel bearings (2 under warranty). No, it hasn't been trouble free (misfire on Cyl 4 - injector. Swapped with Cyl 2 to confirm, and wouldn't you know, swapping the injectors and the misfire NEVER returned) and other niggly bits, but overall, mine has been a solid bit of kit.
  8. Miles? I wouldn't worry too much more about it unless it had other power mods like a boost controller or something else to suggest it was doing more than the ECU would run on its own.
  9. Now who's going to be the first member to chime in here to claim their 15 year chip?
  10. Trucking would be a shipping fee, which would absolutely be tax deductible as a business expense. The price adjustment wouldn't be tax deductible, but would lower the overall tax liability in the difference of net profit. In either case, in the scope of running a business, the net effect is the same, which is why they just did whichever was directly cheaper.
  11. I'm trying to remember when that was. I want to say it was around October of 2017. Come to think of it, it was probably a Thursday, because it was one of the days they opened at 5:00 pm. I think they're open at Noon on Wednesdays, and I've heard the lines aren't as bad on the days they're open at Noon.
  12. ^ I was told over and over that I *HAD* to go to Treehouse. I pulled in there some Wednesday night (I think that's one of the nights they're open) and saw the line going out the door, around the lawn, and all the way down the parking lot about the length of a football field. I noped right the **** out of there.
  13. If you don't enjoy eating to excess, you just ain't no real American!
  14. Does anyone else think laz might just have a hot dogs and PB&J kind of palate? I have always loved the Brazilian style steak houses for all the different flavors of the meat. Drooling just thinking about it.
  15. The smoke on start-up is the biggest concern. A compression test might rule out concerns with the land rings, heads, etc, but then there's still concern about the turbo. 9/10 people would walk away
  16. Not typically ... but they do end up in them. I've seen them in Portland, OR, and Pittsburgh from Dollar and I think Enterprise. Then you get other kinds of fleets as well such as for Salesmen. Our neighbor's son-in-law gets a Legacy or Outback for his company car back in Minnesota. No idea what he sells though.
  17. Casseroles now? Is nothing sacred?!!!
  18. You in Colorado Springs? I know they always do a demonstration for the USAFA graduation, but I don't remember when exactly that is.
  19. We're way past sandwiches. Try to keep up.
  20. I thought Avatar was better when it was called Dances with Wolves.
  21. Depends on the chain. I genuinely like Midici. There's a small chain in Minnesota call Punch that I thought was really good. But if we're talking big time national chains, then I completely agree that you'll never get anything good.
  22. Fine, I give ... this is a damn pizza thread now: Pizza is a fine food. Problem is that most people are introduced to pizza via Dominoes, Pizza Hut, Tombstone (or other frozen pizza), so they associate it with crap food. Once you move away from the crap, there are so many great pizzas. I love Neapolitan style, GOOD New York Style (not "cheap" slices), Chicago Deep Dish ... they're all great when made with quality ingredients and not slapped together by some greasy kid in a greasy kitchen. My go-to is definitely Neapolitan Style though. Have 2 spots within about a mile of home and love them both. One is Midici which just opened up - I've had better, but I don't have any real complaints. The other is a local place that sort of blends Neapolitan Pizza and upscale dining. I think it was mentioned before, you can't use McDonald's to categorize all burgers. Why would you do the same with pizza?!
  23. The social hang-out idea was discussed at the brewery last night. A friend was complaining that people bring their kids. I don't mind it. To me it's sort of the Starbucks Third Space concept or a community gathering place. As long as parents are glaring at others for slightly more colorful language and the kids are being cool, I'm all for it. Same with dogs. If your dog isn't an asshole, great. If he is, don't bring him to the brewery, and don't tell me he's friendly when he's barking at me or anyone else.
