  1. Nope, keep the WRX unit together as they came. They'll install as is. Make sure the LH WRX assembly goes on the passenger side of the Legacy and vice versa. Just be careful with the clearances. Make sure the perch won't rub the tire when installed.
  2. No, 02/03 WRX springs do not the the same upper and lower diameters nor is the top larger then the bottom. The top is smaller. All Impreza/WRX front top diameters are the exact same from 93 to 07, as well as the 04 to 07 STi's. The top is 125mm in width. The bottom is 148mm in width. And Impreza top hat for the front with work. All Second Gen Legacy's have a top spring diameter of 146mm. They will obviously not work. You knew that, I was just clarifying on WRX spring width. Also, the bolt pattern between left and right is reversed. LH Impreza top hats fit to the RH side on Legacy's and vice versa. As far as a the "full WRX suspension, wagon to wagon and sedan to sedan" rule of thumb.... Very, very false... I am quoting myself on something I posted a while back. Read below. If there is anything you are still questioning, just ask. The rear will most definitely lower down when the WRX setup is installed. Exactly how much will depend on exactly what type of 07 WRX they came out of. As far as your tire size, the spring perches might rub the tires. The spacers on your stock suspension pull the tires you already have more inwards. Spacers change suspension geometry. What exactly are you looking to get from the suspension on your Outback?
  3. Only use lowering / stiffening springs with aftermarket shocks. Preferably ones with a higher dampening rate.
  4. GR-2's are slowly becoming phased out of sale. They are now producing the Excel-G in place of it. KYB says that they are basically one in the same, but many who have tested/used them say otherwise. If you go Tein springs, don't buy the S-Tech's. They are garbage. Tein H-Techs are the way to go. They won't lower you as much and aren't as stiff.
  5. The 50/50 mod will do what zues said. It's totally worth it if you go off road a lot. It helps at speeds where you don't want to leave it in 1st or 2nd to keep it at 60/40 split. I would do the trans sport mode mod as well.
  6. lol, Germans... Honestly, I have no idea about the other legacy control arms. But, I do know that every 1st and 2nd gen Legacy's use the same design control arm along with all GC Impreza's. They're all the same. I'm pretty sure that the GD Impreza's might use the same control arm too, but don't quote me on that. Either way, I have no idea what car that guy was referring to. He could have been talking about later generation Legacy's, but that's because I have no clue what those look like.
  7. Where the hell did you read that? ALL second generation Legacy's use the exact same control arm.... Outback struts/springs will raise the car just fine. But, what most people don't know is that the Outback has subframe spacers in the rear, extended sway bar mounts in the rear, larger rear sway bar, and longer axles front and back. Everything else is the same as any other Legacy.
  8. damn it guys.... Baddog, if you truly had respect for others you would have been the bigger person. Instead you chose to be an asshole about the whole thing. Adam, I don't really know why you took any offense to his response to you saying the WRX ones were different.. He wasn't being a smart ass. I'm not taking either side on this because you were both in the wrong here. Knock it off, be friends, and get along.
  9. It's a 98 GT. The ABS light is on because the passenger side front ABS sensor is not plugged in. I replace the hub with one from my 98 OB. I had issues with the bolt and trying to the the wiring to swap over. The plug ends are different for some stupid reason. I'm going to make an adapter to just plug in between the ends.
  10. They are! lol. Its just some stupid stuff that I haven't had a chance to take car of.
  11. As of yesterday http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/t375/Kennyfvholla/2A730548-E7A8-40EE-B0F0-E5A63A9A4506-2866-000002012DB327BF.jpg
  12. Well... wait. That post was from about 3 or so minutes after I woke up. A clearer thinking self has realized that I forgot a few obvious things.... It has the projector beam fog lights that the 96 GT came with, outback 15" wheels, mud flaps, and I think the interior might have been a different type of weave.
  13. Yeah, the 95 Outback was literally an L model with a trim package option that gave it two tone paint and Idk what else, honestly...
  14. I'm at just about 220k. Only 150 miles or so away. Will hit the 220k mark on my trip to the mountains this week. Hopefully my car is all put together and finished by then! Talk about cutting it close...
  15. See, I do not understand that policy one bit. I made a big deal about it one day to the manager at advance auto. They kept telling me they don't do it because people attempt to clear codes and then go get the car inspected. This was all over a missfire code I wanted cleared so I could sooner see if my fix for the issue worked. Well, I told the guy that policy would make sense on my 96 car or most other 96 cars as well as 95 OBII systems. This is because there are exemptions for certain emissions monitors being "not ready." This is because of the way the 96 and earlier OBII systems work. Every single time the car is stared from the off position these monitors will not be "ready" until a short drive cycle, or a specified amount of time has passed. I said if I needed to get that one inspected and it had codes, I would clear it and go ahead. The car I brought was the 98. If I clear the codes on that system, those monitors will be "not ready." This would fail inspection because those monitors are supposed to be ready, the moment the car is powered on. So I asked why I would even waste my time trying to do that. Then I ripped out my paperwork that showed me car was nowhere close to needing to be inspected. Needless to say, they cleared it for me. Normally I would use my dads Snap-On scanner, but he was busy working and had it. So, my impatience sent me to the autoparts and their crappy scanners.
  16. Oh shit. Yeah. He's right. Only the actual speed your going is different to the readings... We were all thinking backwards for a second there, lol
  17. 300 short of 170k on my 96 GT sedan, sitting in my driveway with a spun bearing There's almost 216,500 on my 98 GT wagon. I've put just over 8k miles on her since I bought her 12 weeks ago.
  18. Me neither. I got lucky finding that STi suspension, a WRX exhaust system with a magnaflow muffler, 08 STi seats, and 06 WRX wheels for $800. I couldn't pay for any of it..... So, I lost out. And that's after it was held onto for about 2 months. That's my typical luck..
  19. You won't find anything. If you do, you lucked out becuase that barely ever happens. Lowest I've ever found them was $300. And that was from a buddy of mine..
