  1. Alrighty time for an update.........Still havent gotten an alignment for my car and it still amazes me how hard it is to get a simple alignment. Its just problem after problem. I tried 2 other tire shops to get an alignment and both was the same story: Its to rusted. So I ordered some new bolts and nuts for the rear from subaru. Well I went to honda today because they were having a sale on alignments and I was sent home yet again because I didnt want to pay labor for them to replace the bolts. So I got home and opened my shiny new bolts and nuts only to find out that the nut is too small to fit on the bolt. Again another set back. So I lift my car up just to see whats going on under it just to find that both the nuts are completely stripped. So now I guess i have to go back to subaru order new nuts and also either torch the old nuts or break out the angle grinder. Man I love this

  3. Heres the cxlighting (ebay) exhaust on a stage 1 05 outback xt. Still all 3 cats in for now. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEWDHGyt6QQ]YouTube - Outback xt exhaust[/ame]
  4. No alignment yet. Been a bit busy lately but this week end itll get done. I am happy with the swap overall and I know once the alignment it done itll be a lot better. The rears are noticeabley toed in. Dont need to measure it to see it. So i know thats my main problem. It has mellowed out though so im looking forward to getting it all lined up.
  5. Ya i know im never going to sears again for any car work. Both my wheels rub now and the drivers side is worse. The car doesnt veer worse that it did before. It goes to the right ever so slightly. But another thing that bugs me is my steering wheel is off center now. So to a good tire shop i guess. Any idea on an awsome one?
  6. So I went to sears because my mom had some stuff she wanted to do there while I got the alignment done. And all I have to say is wow. 3 Hours just for them to tell me that they cant do my alignment because my bolts are too rusted in. And now both my tires rub and the drivers side one rubs worse. So whats the best place you guys have been to for an alignment? I knew sears was going to be sub par but not that bad
  7. Sorry i didnt throw a before pic up there but heres one now and then also the wheel gap that I have on the wheel that rubs. And looking at the old before pics I dont even remember it looking that lifted lol. It looks rediculous before now looking at it lowered.
  8. Ok well heres some pics of the car now. Ill get better ones tomarrow
  9. I didnt get the car aligned quite yet. And ill snap some pics today. The tires are the stock outback size. And like i said with the rubbing its so little of a rub i almost dont even care about it. The only time it does it is wen im hardly moving and turn my wheel to the right when i park. Thats the only time it does it
  10. Well i finally got around to doing this conversion myself and i must say MAJOR PITA when everything is all nice and rusted. I Was also mising the top part that the front springs rest on so i had to steal that from the outbacks coil overs. I love the look now but i have a few minor issues with it. The smallest issue is that the front drivers tires rubs ever so slightly at low speed when turning right. IT nothing huge just makes a light squeeky noise. Another thing is that the drivers side of the car sits lower than the passanger car. I dont know if thats the way its supposed to be or not but eh. I did notice that the ride seems quite a bit stiffer though. I like it but wouldve liked it more if it was alot smoother. And lastly which is my biggest concern to fix is that going over rougher terrain/bumbs and what not at higher speeds the car seems to move side to side. following a path like this. --_--_--_-- moves side to side. What would i need to fix that? a new sway bar? But overall Im very pleased with it. Looks and handles sooooo much better
  11. Well I have 1 thats know around town here. Its a golden buick with 28s lifted blares his stock crap skeapers. And lets just say his poor taste in cars goes along with his poor taste in driving. He goes around corners super fast with his door open swerving around them. Then when he gets on straight roads he "swangs" it through 4 lanes of traffic from shoulder to shoulder. Well there my little rant on that guy but we do have a reeses and skittles car here but those are the only 3 that I know of
  12. Man that friggin blows hard. How bad is it? Hope it doesnt hold you back for to long to finish. Is there any kinda body damage?
  13. You did an amazing job with that vinyl looks awsome. Cant wait to see the finished product...... Wanna do mine next? If I had the time and skill for this I'd be all over it but knowing me I'd end up getting pissed and give up after trying to do 1 door let alone the front bumper
  14. Well I ahve had my outback xt for 4 weeks now and as it stand so far: HID low beams and fogs-------$100 Good old Hogzawst washers----$2 Spare key/remote-------------$170 Jazzy AUX in------------------$80 Cobb accessport--------------$600 Legacy suspension------------$200 Total-------------------------$1152 AHHHHH And only after 3 whole weeks. I'm gonna be in some trouble here real soon and I already know im going to keep spending
  15. You are 100% correct and I was on highway 17 that day too but im not familar with your guys cars. And ya I guess not everyone can be a subaru enthusiust (<=== I suck at spelling) like us. It would be cool though
  16. I dont know if any of you guys have been to the santa cruiz area but lets just say if I had a dollar for every subaru I saw I could get myself some new sway bars Most seen up there were outbacks, followed by legacy wagons (all older ones) then foresters, then imprezas, followed by 1 05ish legacy GT sedan lol
  17. I'm sooo glad that this thread came up. I thought I was gonna die knowing I couldnt put an aftermarket double din in my outback, but thanks to this right here im saved
  18. Late 90s red outback spotted 3 blocks from my house. Please tell me your on this forum they were staring and smiling at my outback
  19. Man this is gonna be an awsome build. I always like to see different builds like this they are very unique. Can't wait to see some more progress
  20. So if ive read this correctly the front suspension is the same regardless of sedan vs wagon, but the rears are where I get lost. The springs are different but what about the struts? And also can you use the outback top hats with the legacy suspesion at all?
  21. The day i was headed out of town to snag my 05 OBXT (Tracy CA) I saw a black outback with the silly hood scoop at the gas station while I was filling up. What a small world it is
  22. Hogzawst + Silencer delete on the intake = 30 mins and a completely different sounding car in a good way of course
  23. I must say Hogzawst is full of win best mod for the wopping $1.32. I was ready to drop 600 bucks on the AVO mufflers then ran arcross this thread and saved my life. I was soooo happy wen i started up the car with the patented hogzawst washers. I did drop one in the pipe and im sure its posted on here but simply start the car and give it a quick rev and your back in buisness. Also breaker bar does wonders. P.S. Outbacks cheat for the mod installation with the extra ground clearance
  24. Just picked up a 05 outback xt limited with that wierd third pedal u see on some cars dunno what thats about
