  1. Ok, we can do that. It's cool if I terrorize you or otherwise engage whatever is necessary to cause fear so long as you're not my kid, right?
  2. You need me to flash a gun at you before you'll settle down? That's cool so long as you're not my kid, right?
  3. Bought another one, after spending all day playing at an SCCA RallyCross in a 95 impreza. Here she is getting some close attention from the elusive and fabled Fuji of NF Performance: http://i43.tinypic.com/bdtjbd.jpg
  4. DBA's can make silly money once you get through the trenches though. Big data chops pay big wages. Anyway, think of the children!
  5. That's what I was implying... Well, that and I really like my current employer. It's a good place to be if you're making a career out of the MS stack and you're passionate about what you do. Not a good place if you're the sort that prefers cozying up to a single environment and doing the same stuff day after day for years.
  6. If you have more than 3 years .NET development experience, can pass no-bs deep dive skills interviews conducted by senior level developers/architects and you're making $38k full time, you should probably get at me...
  7. My kid and I have been enjoying each other's company a lot more in the last few months, largely due to you guys. Lately he's been asking to help me cook. He's getting to the point where he's seriously useful. When I was his age I could barely be trusted to get myself a glass of water. He can damn near cook a full breakfast aside from knife work. He needs to be closely supervised but that's moreso to ensure he stays focused on safety than a question of competency. He lost his knife privileges (both in and out of the kitchen) the time before by dicking around with a steak knife while waiting for bacon to fry, so we're working back up to that... My wife says it makes her heart swell to see us in the kitchen together. I'm guessing it doesn't compare to the feeling of actually cooking with him. Another year of practice and I'll have my own personal little sous chef.
  8. Seems like a lot of vendors have been having huge problems lately. IIR is known locally for having exemplary customer service and execution so I got a bunch of parts from them. I THINK I finally have all the parts I ordered 5 weeks ago. Maybe... 2/3 of the order was held up on an OEM gasket kit and ACL bearings, both items that are easily sourced locally. Frustrating as hell. I'm having similar problems with everyone, except Bryan. Thanks Bryan!
  9. Dialed down the boost. Enjoyed being able to actually go WOT for more than two seconds.
  10. You don't need to know what a taser looks like in advance in order to decide you don't want to be on the receiving end of it the first time you hear one activated. I prefer when I don't have to "sell" the act.
  11. I dunno, there are few more effective ways to command someone's attention than the unexpected crackle and ozone aroma emitted by a quality high voltage taser.
  12. Save the tazer for the first "serious" boyfriend. Take up smoking before hand if you don't already. Light your smoke with the tazer when he comes to pick her up.
  13. You sir, once again, are failing to consider additional angles. You will use this to your advantage by "liking" anything you'd prefer she not get into in the future.
  14. Fuji is on here if you don't want to go to MNSubaru for whatever reason. He can tell you who they have tuned from that area.
  15. We have a couple in Elk River. More details on the car?
  16. Couldn't tell you. I'm still in the "discovery" phase of ownership. Haven't really had a chance to go through it all the way yet. It's already obvious I'll need to swap in an MT. The diffs on the auto are garbage. Might as well be fwd. Bad fwd at that.
  17. I do live close and I have brought the car in to check on fitment and development. As previously mentioned, we don't have the mounting points they want to use.
  18. There is an issue with lack of mounting points used by the brace for other models. A significant redesign would be necessary to avoid requiring drilling. That's probably opportunity-cost prohibitive. Maybe a smaller scale fabricator could be engaged if the JDM version turns out to be different? RacerX?
  19. Separate rooms worked really well so there was no sleep interruption at all. It makes a huge difference when you've only got a handful of hours to work with at a time. Hitting a few full REM cycles on a nightly basis was life changing. Edit: Obviously that assumes you're at the point of being comfortable with the baby sleeping in their own room.
  20. Ah, baby sign language. Totally useless and usually lost skill after the first couple years, but MAN what a difference in frustration level for everyone involved. My favorite was when my son was signing for more at a restaurant and there was a deaf couple a few tables over (or at least they chose to sign instead of speak). The guy saw my kid sign and his whole face lit up. It was subtle, but awesome. For those with babies not making it through the night yet, taking shifts and sleeping in the baby's room so the person who was "off duty" could actually hit REM probably saved my marriage. Just throwing that out there.
  21. How about a parfait? Everyone likes a parfait. I needs me some KFC for lunch.
