  1. Congrats! Looking forward to hearing of the shenanigans when she comes home!
  2. It's either food or utilities. Pick your poison. Not looking forward to going full-scale grocery shopping 3x/week once the minion hits his teens.
  3. In case you're curious about the type of roads you may encounter... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e88jHJpULsE]MNSubaru Fall Colors Cruise 2013 - Sample PreRun Footage - YouTube[/ame]
  4. Fall Colors Cruise next Sunday. Heads up: http://mnsubaru.com/threads/fall-colors-cruise-10-20-2013-this-sunday.44461/ https://www.facebook.com/events/531947286873949/
  5. Different goals. More bigger is not always what people want. If your goal is a dyno queen, then yeah, it makes no sense not to get the bigger for $25.
  6. That's how you know you're ready. Pre-emptive congrats! Stay slinky.
  7. People seem to forget that reproductive proclivity is a major factor in Darwin's theories...
  8. Let the "RUSRS?!" surprise no-school day season commence! I don't remember getting a day or five off school every other week off when I was a kid. *rawr*
  9. It means getting crotchety old curmudgeons to get behind things you really need your company to do, by force if necessary.
  10. Because with all that straight edged sobriety, you're more observant than most?
  11. Wednesday night MN Garage Geeks meets at Sonic in Bloomington. There is also a "Midwest Modified" meet at King of Diamonds strip club. I haven't been to the latter. The former is usually fairly relaxed. Naturally Tuesday night is the MNSubaru meet.
  12. Well that just chaps my chaps right there. I asked the dealership about adjusting the clutch sensor and they had no clue.
  13. Thursday only? That's the only night of the week there isn't something going on. I'm not sure what my evenings look like next week as I'm ramping up with a new project. I'm interested in getting in to some trouble if I'm not on a short leash all week. Post up on MNSubaru as a mini-meet?
  14. Wait, what? There are two, and they are adjustable? Have you confirmed this? It would make sense logically. Basically adjusting inner and outer deadzone based on the actual physical engagement point.
  15. My money is on just getting used to it, seriously. The clutch switch sensor is a little odd in where it flips. That's also the reason I have problems using Cobb's flat foot shifting implementation. The clutch switch doesn't line up with the actual engagement point. Could be a faulty clutch switch sensor sensor, maybe. I'm more inclined to think it's a matter of seat time based on similar experience in the first few weeks of ownership. You can't be "almost" certain you gave it throttle. Next time it happens, try again and be REALLY certain you're giving it throttle.
  16. You have to do more than just select a gear. It wants to see the clutch switch sensor AND a teeny bit of throttle. It just has to be enough to register movement, doesn't even need to actually blip the engine. I killed it a few times trying to let the clutch out with no throttle until I figured that out. That may be what's happening to you when it kills even though you're wearing your belt.
  17. It's almost like your car is trying to tell you something...
  18. Probably not. Though a lot of us are finding the stock bushings to be pathetically soft. Whiteline has a front roll center kit and a rear camber correction kit if necessary. I purchased but didn't install the kits on mine before swapping to KWv3's. It needs them. The camber is actually fine, but the bushings are just soooo soft...
  19. Yes, you can completely destroy your tires with a big change in suspension components and no alignment. It's not guaranteed, but it is a distinct possibility. Particularly if you pick up some toe in the process. I'd recommend an alignment immediately. I've seen and heard of multiple people trashing tires in a few hundred miles. Get two alignments if necessary.
  20. So what you're saying is your wife has stamina?
  21. Hormones. Oh, and absolute omniscience, obviously. Remember how nice it was to know everything about everything?
  22. Took my kid to his first NASCAR short track race last night. I showed him youtube videos of Raceway Park earlier in the morning and casually asked if he'd like to check it out. I neglected to mention I meant like, tonight. He had no idea where we were going until we got right outside the park and he heard the cars on track. THEN the eyes got huge and he managed to squeak out, "WE GET TO WATCH A REAL RACE?!?!" (I've taken him to a bunch of car 'events' so far and he's always bummed the "race cars" never race.) At one point they were offering kids rides in the "racing school buses" which amounted to a parade lap around the figure 8 and a "tour" of the pits from the bus. He needed a little prodding. Problem is, they had so many kids that by the time we got down there all four buses were packed. Naturally this meant they had to bring out some stock race cars and load kids in those too. Sometimes it pays to be lazy... So yeah, on top of already being ON THE FIELD at the new Twin's stadium I've never even been inside, my kid has now also been in a @#!$ing race car, on a race track, before his old man. Preeeettty sure he's hooked based on the earful the Mrs. got this morning. Highly recommend checking out the local NASCAR short tracks in your area if you haven't. WAY more kid-friendly than I realized. We'll be doing that again, probably next weekend.
  23. That sounds festive. Tell me more.
  24. Agreed. Watching my kid learn and develop his own opinions/philosophies has been the most fascinating (and fulfilling) experience of my life. Baby stage was cool, but this is ******* awesome.
  25. Pediatrician helped out at all? Figure there's got to be some sneaky ways to supplement what he DOES eat.
