  1. As blizzard said above they wilk be shorter. Which is good for me because what I'm looking at getting doesn't drop a wrx much.
  2. sorry, maybe i should have been clearer. I'm comparing the LENGTH of the 2 suspensions. BUT I have found my answer.
  3. Is there a height difference in an 08+ wrx coilover vs stock 2010+ legacy suspension?
  4. Anyone look into a cup system? I know that mueler (sp) makes one that can go on fortune coilovers.
  5. i will be getting them much before the end of the year so we can meet up. i love going down to sd and partying in the gaslamp quarter. for those on the fence about the swift spring upgrade, there is no comparison. The stock springs on all these entry level coilovers are horrendous. they give a harsh, jarring ride due to the progressiveness of the rate. a shop out here was going to destroy a set of fortune springs to test the progressiveness of the spring and what the actual usable rate is. they are expecting it to be extremely high as the spring is compressed. The Swifts are linear and therefore you get a much smoother and less jarring ride. the rate stays the same throughout the entire spring travel. the spring could be 90% compressed and the rate will still be, say, 7k.
  6. i am not yet. i had to put my order on hold. I have a deposit with 7L, but got laid off. they have my deposit and are holding my order. I do have MANY friends that have them on their cars. some of these cars I ride in weekly. The ride quality with the stock fortune springs leave something to be desired. It's very bumpy and what I can describe as "peaky". The swift spring upgrade is necessary and proper. I have driven them during an auto-x and they perform beautifully. I also took a 5ish hour trip to mammoth mountain in a car that was running 500s with swifts. firm and comfortable for the whole ride. also took the same ride in the same car weeks earlier when there were bc coilovers on it. harsher ride and much more peaky than the fortunes w/o swifts. It's all about dampening with coilovers. the digressive dampening makes for a much smoother ride throughout the travel. ditch the non linear fortune springs for truly linear swifts and the comfort and performance levels increase dramatically. The value in these coilovers is amazing.
  7. the fortunes rule. just do it. they are, imo, one of the best entry coilovers in existence. do not go with 510s. just get the 500s with swift spring upgrade and it's about 90% of the 510s. I can start a group buy through 7l Autosport if some people would like. I would need to talk to those guys and get some pricing and numbers. This would fit all 5th gen models.
  8. i will be purchasing fortune auto coilovers in the late spring or early summer. they have had great reviews and i've ridden in 4 cars that had them and they feel great. the lower mounting bracket is one piece. there are no tabs to break off. they seem to be the best bang for your buck. they cost only slightly more than BC and they are actually shock dyno'd prior to shipping. it is ensured that you get 4 matching dampeners out of the box. you get your choice of spring rates and can even upgrade to swift spring and get roller bearings installed on the lower spring perch. they are fully rebuildable and revalveable here in the USA.
  9. i tried installing the walbro some months back, no go. but the dw looks good.
  10. don't know. but they probably have something to do with the other brackets included in the kit. i have klc066. you probably won't need an alignment. it shouldn't mess with stuff.
  11. i'm being sarcastic about the 19mm bar. i have the 22mm adjustable whiteline. it's a great bar. i would go with that one. the 24mm may be too much for non track car. get the whiteline endlinks, you won't have to rotate the shock towers like you will with the kartboy.
  12. 19mm subaru. what kind of driving are you doing and what end result do you want from your suspension?
  13. this. what would the people at the dealership say? "you got a rear sway bar so we can't cover your blown turbo."? If they told me that, i would tell them to suck it and say goodbye to their franchise, cuz i wouldn't stop pursuing that until they did.
  14. i have the 22mm with the spherical bearing motorsports end links. i may upgrade to the 24mm if/when i get a front anti sway bar. why would you be worried about people knowing that you have an aftermarket rear sway bar?
  15. i dunno, i just hate how when someone asks about sway bars, everyone just answers 19mm subaru rear bar like it's the only one that fits and will work. people don't even try to get an idea of what the guy wants. just "19mm rear sway bar by subaru". what if he wants an aggressive track or canyon car? why does everyone suggest the 19mm rear sway bar? BECAUSE RACE CAR
  16. why not just do the larger aftermarket rsb? everyone just settles for the 19mm.
  17. all those inexpensive coilovers are going to be hit or miss regardless of manufacturer. also, their dampening is kinda crap. i think someone on msprotege.com at some point did a shock dyno of some k-sports and it looked like ass. he dyno'd the 2 front ones and the results were terrible. basically, one had to be on full soft and the other on full stiff for the curves to be even. i dunno about you, but even if i was just getting coils to be hellaflush, i wouldn't want my dampening curves to be that off.
  18. no, but the tein lowering springs for the 2010+ legacy will fit your 2011 legacy 2.5i.
  19. i require counseling as well, but i find peace at the bottom of a real tall cold drink.
  20. i asked one of the local invidia dealers here to ask their invidia rep what was up with the flat flange downpipe. the rep stated that everything in the turbo was just so close together that invidia didn't feel the gains by going with a bellmouth over a flat flange were worth the costs.
  21. strange that it's that quiet WITHOUT a resonator. i wonder what the packing in those mufflers is like.
