  1. I drove one after I totaled my SS. (Oh, BTW, if you didn't hear, I totaled my SS. Long story, but let's just say I'm not doing any more track days in the rain.) Actually rated it higher than the 2013 CTS-V with 13k miles I test drove. Not just in relation to price, either. The Accord was a polished car with engaging driving dynamics (although not to the level of the SS, CTS-V, or Stinger), nice tech, good ergonomics, and a refined interior with lots of room.

The CTS-V was fast and fun, but everything about the interior (fit and finish, design, ergonomics, tech, etc) felt like a 10 year old design, which it was. Also, the front seats (non-Recaro) sucked, the rear seat was cramped, the sunshade was weirdly translucent, and even with only 13k on it, the entire thing creaked like crazy and the materials were already showing wear.

I ended up with the Stinger. GT2 RWD in Micro Blue. Ticked over 4500 miles today. I wish it had a stick, and I miss the V8 exhaust note, but otherwise I love it.

Cant believe you totaled the SS, that is hands down my favorite newer sedan. I was in the market for one when they were letting them go for 20% off sticker and couldnt find a 6 speed. Refused to settle for auto, and I just decided to quit looking. Now I regret it.

I test drove an 18' Maro SS 1LE a few months back and loved it too, but I couldn't swing it with my current situation. Damn LGT maxed my c/c bill, and Im still recovering. Never build a car on credit.

  2. Slower than a 2.0T Accord.. Significant brake fade. Not what I'm looking for..

I drove a 6 speed 2.0t sport last month. Very impressive capable car for the $$. If I was down for a car payment right now, it'd be top 3 under 40K for sure. Simple tune puts it in the neighborhood of 360tqe. The only shortcoming is wrong wheel drive. But for a daily, hard to beat it under 40K, let alone the 30,700 sticker price.

  3. JDM Troubles!! Albero bumper wont fit with my FMIC! Need to cut the brackets and reweld new piping to make it fit without cutting a big hole in it. NBD, just more time and $$. Should be finished saturday, then its time for the edm console and 09 spec b interior to go in. This has been a long time coming, better hold up to my expectations!
  4. If it's getting painted give the shop a call and ask if they can roll your fenders for you. Do it before paint so that any cracking of the paint isn't even a possibility. That will be what I do when I put my facelift front end on.

yeah they are getting rolled by them yesterday or today...gonna hold off on pulling though

  5. Honestly I find it the easiest way to get a consistent pull which you can't really get with a fender roller unless you're a rolling god. It's a pretty common method that I've seen used on a lot of cars but to each to their own. You could always test fit first and see if you even need to pull your fenders

yeah im gonna try to test fit soon, just waiting on the car to get out of the body shop. They are just finishing up trimming the albero bumper to fit the gigantic fmic core i have, then its going into the booth.

  6. I personally do it with phone books and a heat gun. I know some people use a fender roller to pull their fenders but you end up getting the edges of the fender flared out which I don't really like. Just heat up the paint like you would before doing a fender roll, jack up the car, place a phone book between the tire and the fender and then lower the jack. I will usually place a couple of 2x4 pieces under the tire to have it compress and then usually will hop on the door sill a little to let it settle. Start off small and work your way up. Once you remove the phone book the fender will go back in a decent amount. Sorry if that's super confusing

No i get it. Just seems super shady lol. i think ill just roll for now and get 245 35s instead, too risky on fresh paint

  7. Really depends on how low you are but I would expect you will have to at least to a slight pull in the front. Even on 235/40s on a 9.5 et38 I had to do some slight pulling in the front so I wouldn't rub. A 235 on a 8.5 would only be slightly stretched anyways :p

howd u do the pull method? car is in for paint so id like to do it beforehand so it doesnt crack...No splash guards with the new bumper etc. so i dont have to worry about that at least.

Ya, I shouldve gone with a 245 setup, but i wanted more meat. oh well...guess i need to pull after all, or maybe stick with the weak 7.5s or the 8" SSRs time being

  8. Im hoping with rolled fenders ill be able to pull off my 18x8.5 +44s on 255/35 18s. Always wanted a meaty tire, hate stretched, but now im thinking i shouldve stuck with a 235 or 245. Any thoughts as to if a roll will get it done or if i have to pull them? Trying to avoid that...I don't mind raising it up a bit, but im not that low to begin with.
  9. My little journey has taken me back to a make that I used to own...Infiniti.

I sold the WRX. I sold the Ct200h.

I got myself a 2018 Q50 Red Sport AWD. Forged wheels and tires on order and looking into springs or coilovers. And, that is as far as it will go...lesson learned.

How the handling on it - i hear the steering feedback is meh but everything else is incredible. I ran one on the highway before the car went into the body shop, kept up with them no issues and the LGT is a fast car right now.

  10. - Non-Tapered head tube

    - Quick release axles

    - Crap Avid Elixir brakes

    - 2 x 9 drivetrain

    - Fox fork from the generation that brutally failed at CTD damping

I wouldn't pay more than $500 for that. It's far past the point of upgrading, and really all of the things mentioned above, for a bike like a Stumpjumper, have vastly been improved upon.

thanks for the info, im going to pass on the bike.

    I appreciate it!
