I don't think that engine lasted very long with that kind of boost.... However, the EJ20R and EJ20K are fully open deck like the EJ25D....they just have stronger internals.....so idk. I'm kind of tempted to do a monster EJ25D turbo build. I wonder what I could come up with. I don't doubt you can build one to do a couple of dyno pulls with big numbers.....what I'm curious about is how long the engine will last before blowing up

You could just get an EJ205, EJ207, EJ20G, EJ206, EJ208, EJ20K, EJ20R, EJ22G, EJ255, or EJ257 and boost it in its stock form for less money then it would take to build your EJ25D to handle boost. I don't know first hand what kind of internal failures the EJ25D will have when boosted. I would think you're able to run a little bit of boost on it with a small turbo and be somewhat safe...but anything fun I would think would require building up the internals quite a bit. I'm not nearly motivated enough to fish through that entire thread...but I have a feeling that engine didn't last very long at 28psi.

I organize some runs every now and then, but its going to be awhile before I do another one

I'm not sure how much basic maintenance they do. I've known them more to do major work, So I don't think a clutch is something they are not use to

Like I said before, I've never heard anything negative about them. I'm pretty involved with the local Subaru crowd....most everyone I know has had their car at AllPro at one time or another.....and never once have I heard or seen anything wrong with what they did. Like you said, mistakes can be made. Everyone is only human. If I were in your shoes, I would give them a second chance. They usually bend over backwards to make their customers happy. Try them out again with something simple like an oil change or something... What kind of major work do you have coming up?

My sedan has hit the 300+mark on a GT3076R turbo...but it was such a big turbo it took FOREVER to spool up....but when it spooled it threw you back in your seat pretty hard. It will be hard to keep reasonable spool times on an EJ20 and get 350+ to the wheels. However, its not a very hard task to do on a EJ257. To give you a serious answer to your question, my favorite thing is mountain runs...so I really need the low end power. On the highway, almost nothing can touch me....and the only thing that saves me in the corners is the suspension
