Remember how back in 07-08 Subaru decided that engines don't need a final honing process and the piston/rings can do the job during break in? Remember the world wide stop sale it caused when engines puked oil like a drunken sailor on the first night of shore leave, at start up, and siezed with all the glitter? Remember the Subaru specd dealer "inspection" which involved starting the car and flooring it in N for 30-60 seconds? If it survived, it was for sale again.

House has a grill, wonder if we can use it as a smoker? We had family over for Easter. I was "non-traditional" with the meal. I made a glazed ham, but I also smoked a brisket, trip tip and pork spare ribs. I ate meat till I sweat for 7 days straight. It was glorious.

Too bad Jenny does not do breakfast. Mary loves breakfast burgers. Hashbrowns, burger patty, fried egg, sausage patty, bacon, ketchup, lightly toasted bun. Sounds perfect for a lake morning. If Boxkita has a rough morning I am sure we can round up a nice warm glass of mayo for him to gargle. Greasy fried pork chop served in a dirty ash tray?

I will be there 6/6-6/13. 3 + 1(dog). No plans for the "Glen". Don't want to embarrass you all in a turbo "mom car". I have a few hundred hours logged at the Glen in an ND1 MX-5 Global Cup. I kinda have an advantage on knowing the track lines. But I can cheer from the stands. Bring canned air horns? Plan to bring some local brews to share, but might not need as much as last year???

What I have so far is attached. Please comment so I dont miss anything. We can figure out rooms in a civil manner. We still have plenty of time until final decisions must be made. Finger Lakes.xlsx

There should be room for everyone. I can make a quick spread sheet to keep track. I was told the lake bottom is fairly flat and max depth is maybe 10ft. Bottom is shale and rock so BRING WATER SHOES. We don't want feet that look like they went through a cheese grater.

LegacyGT.com East Coast Meetup June 7-9, '24 - Spare Parts and WTB Thread

850 idles fine. North of 1300cc is where you have work to do. I liked to keep it to about 90% max duty cycle. Have trust issues pushing past that regularly. With sidefeeds, 850cc is about as large as you can go. Some tuners will shy away as sidefeed are not as "predictable" as top feed. They don't always flow the same with the same signal. It's the nature of the beast. When all we had was sf no one complained. When tf became an option tuners wanted tf only. -

Dale (sbt) basically ran the forum. I hung out and drove with him. Still text now and then. I would trust his parts. -

I have a Subaru Rally banner that hung in the shop for years and is now hanging in my garage. It might be the last piece of "memorabilia" left. I can't think of anything else "Subie" I have. I can trade the banner for ??? at the meet. Iirc it was a gift from a forum member (Dave?). -
You are covered. Linen service is included. Bedding and towels for 20. You can bring your own if you prefer.

SI-Drive Not Working After Swap
m sprank replied to Jean E.'s topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
Yes. It can be done. That was the only good thing about Si drive. The ability to load 3 different custom maps and switch on the fly. We gave many customers low boost, high boost and kill mode via Si. You could use it to switch fuels too, but that is a bit sketchy as it is too easy to make a mistake. -

I did not "tell you" to burn the car, I offered it as an option umong others. I also said to give up on the Si drive and focus on a mechanically sound set up and good tune. I am not here to lead you to the promised land. But I am honest in my posts. Welcome to the forum. -
SI-Drive Not Working After Swap
m sprank replied to Jean E.'s topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
You swapped a jdm set up into a usdm car of a different model/family. If anyone actually knows the answer they would be idiots to share that knowledge for free. You jumped off a cliff, either enjoy the fall or poo your pants. I see a few choices. Figure it out yourself, pay someone else to figure it out, cut your losses and burn the car. In the end it might all be "doable", but my gut says the cost far exceeds the value of the car. Generally, if you don't have all the answers prior to beginning a project or the tools and know how you should not take the leap. I would give up on SI drive, its lame anyway (basically just a reduced throttle response from the factory). Focus on getting the car running and tuned properly. -

My brother in law is near Houston. Wife was there for Thanksgiving. If I had known then she could have picked them up for me. Ship those bad boys or send me your addy so I can have them mysteriously disappear from the garage. -

Right? Now go fix your melting harness issue so you can drive to ECM 24. Finger Lakes this year! -
Total off topic plug. Someone save me from myself and buy the rebuilt KWs from Spider Pig before I am tempted to recover them as wall art.

Iirc I had those coils freshly rebuilt by KW North America immediately before selling them to the OP. They should be basically "new" other than storage. Iirc those coils came off of Spider Pig when the custom AST coils were installed. If I had a 4th gen LGT I would buy then back.
