I think the hard shifts is partially due to power mods (tune/stage 1/2)

I had the hard 2-3 shifts when I went stage 1 w/ LW crank pulley. been stock since after reflash from dealer and no problems at all

Now this one is hitting really hard everytime it shifts to 3rd gear. I cringe everytime it hits hard. The stealership replaced both the tc and a remanufactured transmission under warranty. So I figure that this 2nd trans could be 3rd gear going out and the hence the possibilty of me possibly needing to replace the trans again. That or the trans needs another re-program and re-learn and this being the 3rd time it gets reprogrammed.

if its still under warranty, most likely one of the parameters needs the be reset in the tcu - this was my problem, and exact same symptoms you described

i had the hard shift problem

there is a bulletin for the hard shift, but this reflash for this bulletin did not fix my problem

Can't get a entire used tranny ? I got one for 1100$

 

And could always make a tranny dyno

ClimberD has been working hard but it is completely different then the 05

.blackgt. has contacted his dealership and a brand new 08 VB would be $827.16 Is there any interest for donations? I have not spoken with ClimberD about this and ultimately it would be his final decision. When ClimberD ships my VB back he will not have a 08 VB to work on

Bad news guys, sorry for the ones who are waiting for the 08+ VB mod. I have been out of my car for 3 weeks coming up to 4. ClimberD has been very generous by spending his time and money trying to figure out the 08 VB. Sadly it is completely different and little documentation on it. I am giving him about 1 more week to see if he can work any magic. I need my car back because there is important stuff for me coming up for me.

Sorry guys for the disappointment/longer wait.

If anyone goes to a junkyard/you pick it, please keep an eye out for 08+. I will compensate you for the VB to help keep this moving

Why not use the JDM one? Just mod the bumper to fit!

^ Mod the bumper as cut it all up? No thanks... I'd rather not hack apart a perfectly good bumper, especially if these become available for $45!!!

Cut it all up? It doesn't look like too terribly much work would need to be done to make it fit. But then again. I don't have an '08 so I don't know.

Maybe you can tell the 05-07 owners whats involved in swapping from their bumper to an 08-09. Is it just the bumper? Beam too? Do the lines of the taillights match, etc.

 

Im guessing you researched this when you did the bumper swap but what else more would be involved in doing a jdm 08-09 rear bumper swap?

Aren't you in CA? I've done that drive from CA to Dallas. It was not fun. Half the time was in cactus land, other half battling a nasty cross-wind. Besides I would need the VB for a lot longer than a day or two, at least for R&D. Thanks for the offer though. You 08 guys will have your day!

eh I dont mind road trips I drove from CA to CO and to Vegas straight. No breaks except for gas:lol: Didnt have cross-winds but this was in nov.

Its up in the air if you cant find someone Ill be happy to come down and stay for a few days, Im sure I can figure something out if the time comes. Im sure theres people a lot closer to you...
