  1. sorry...rear passenger. 3 or 4 times. I just put a new set of tires on, and noticed a hum coming from the front. my mechanic told me it was a wheel bearing. funny thing is...the noise has not progressed...and it's been 2 months. makes me think it's the tires. I'll get on it!
  2. haven't posted in a bit. 257k now. I have two leaks. one coming from the power steering pump. seems small..and not coming from a tube. so it will probably get replaced when the belts get done. the other coming from my oil pan seal. it's not bad....but it will get done on my next oil change. other than that....still pushing strong.
  3. 250k. I need to update my sig. about to add on a new passenger side tie rod, front end links and maybe new front shocks. Original steering pump is leaking, so might have to replace that too.
  4. about to drop some $$ on front suspension work and a power steering pump leak. just had new tires put on and turns out I have a front wheel bearing that's starting to go bad. new front end links, tie rod too.
  5. it reminds me of how the Volvo XC70's look. I like.
  6. yah, yah....original motor here too. how are you on the original turbo still??
  7. I'd be checking that turbo. i'm on number 3 now. replaced each of them around 100k miles. the 2nd had over 118k on it I think and it prolly had another week before it went.
  8. so now my oil filter seal leak and my rusted rattling heat shields are fixed. large heat shield down by the pan got a worm drive wrapped around it to keep it from rattling. saved myself $60. had another rattle up by the turbo heat shield. somehow I lost a bolt and i can't get it lined up. so....I bent the shield away from where it was rattling. BOOM!! problem solved. onto the front suspension
  9. 240k now. getting the bugs worked out. oil filter seal leak is fixed, new coolant tubes leading to it replaced as well. next, new bushings, end links, right side tie rod ends and new front shocks.
  10. you looking ahead and anticipating what's coming up? if you are, then you wouldn't be shifting on an incline. only time I do that is when the gear i've picked is not enough or too much. if I do have to shift I keep pedaling but take the load off the pedals and shift into the right gear.
  11. yep. he's been on training wheels since he was four. he's in 6th grade now and rides his bike to school every day. minus the rain/snow. He's done a couple cx races and just recently paired up with me to do a 12 hour mtb race with my buddy and his son who did the same. course was about 9 miles long and he did 45 miles over the course of the day. had a blast. 93 litespeed obed, 03 Turner Burner (my race bike) 05 fuji cross pro (my pit bike/mixed surface bike) 12 Bianchi Zurigo (race bike for cx). yeah....and i wanna another:lol:
  12. biking is my addiction. 6 bikes in the house. 2 belong to my 12 year old and the rest mine. last several years I've been racing cross. and this last year I've spent more time on gravel grinders vs single track.
  13. bickering removed from this thread. back on topic. carry on
  14. My heatshields are pretty rusted. Some areas the bolts have rusted thru. Got a price to replace the one down by the oil pan. $300 or so. It was recommended that I wrap my pipes instead. Anyone done this yet?
  15. 225k now. 3rd turbo, stock uppipe, oil changed every 3-4k miles with 10w30 or castrol high mileage 10w30. Drive 60+miles a day, no stop and go mostly back road driving.
  16. agreed. all things considered my mine looks great for as many miles as it has on it.
  17. i wonder what mine would look like. i dont' have the place/time to look though.
